Here's how they should of made Lady: make her a Victorian style privately owned locomotive. If they did that, the plot would have more sense. And Diesel 10 could of been jealous of her, and destroyed her for that. Also they could have done this in the TV series.

I actually remember a book I used to own when I was very young that was basically almost like the film but none of the humans were in it. (or Diesel 10 for that matter) and while it was simple and short... I enjoyed it and I think it makes a lot more sense than the film itself though.

Lady does have some parts of he body, like her buffers, colored gold. Maybe one time her brakes failed and she crashed into a pile of gold dust that stopped her, but also had side effects that gave her magic powers. That's probably a fanfic somewhere.
I personally don't think that the sheer amount of Shining Time included is a problem. In the US, Thomas was broadcast in Shining Time Station blocks. Every half an hour there'd be about 8 minutes of Thomas hence why this movie includes a lot more Shining Time Station that Thomas. Granted the title is misleading but I can see where they were coming from. The bigger problem is the fact that Shining Time Station was ONLY broadcast in the US. Had we been introduced to those characters before hand? Maybe it would be better. Another point people often bring up is that Mr Conductor or Patch are the main stars and how we've "only just met them." Isn't pretty much every film based upon people we've "just met." Yeah it's a movie based on a series so that kind of is a problem but movie are meant to introduce new characters but I do see how that's a problem. Then there's the obvious problem about how it's magic etc. etc. Idk but I'll always love this film despite the major issues with it. Meh;)

I totally agree with you with Shining Time Station stealing the spotlight from Thomas (I was about 8 years old when I saw the movie (in Theaters and when I went there were only 10 people including my dad and me) and (I saw the Shining Time station show when I was a kid and I hated it because I was a American version of the British Fans of the show only interested in episodes of the engines ) and when I left the movie I was furious for that If this movie was supposed to be about Thomas and his Friends then why is this movie more about Shining Time Station and Thomas was giving a secondary role? Totally disgusted on that and also I agree with you that this movie should had taken on Sodor and Sodor alone. Thats the worst thing about this movie. Integration Shining Time Station into it wasn't a bad idea in its own right. The main issue is how it was handled - PT Boomer being cut - and thus any meaningful contribution from outside the Thomas world is gone with him.

I love how as soon as Thomas crosses the gap in the collapsing viaduct, two huge chunks of the bridge fall into the water. This widens the gap so much that Diesel 10 snaps through the rails suspended in the air.
And adopted the mindset of George Lucas and delayed the film to give them enough time to transfer all of the models to canada or better film in shepperton studios as usual and kept diesel 10's russian accent.

The character Lady deserved a better introduction to the Thomas universe than... well, this movie. Seriously, she's only appeared once since this movie. ONCE, and only as part of a flashback/dream sequence. I get the feeling that the higher-ups wanted to largely sweep her under the rug after Magic Railroad, not wanting any future episodes or movies to tie into this movie. Of course, that doesn't explain why Diesel 10 became a recurring character, but I digress.

The character Lady deserved a better introduction to the Thomas universe than... well, this movie.
Seriously, she's only appeared once since this movie.
ONCE, and only as part of a flashback/dream sequence.
I get the feeling that the higher-ups wanted to largely sweep her under the rug after Magic Railroad, not wanting any future episodes or movies to tie into this movie.
Of course, that doesn't explain why Diesel 10 became a recurring character, but I digress.
Turned out Mr, Conductor realized that gold dust was the only to travel through the buffers wasn’t the only thing to travel, it was an engine. Aren’t you even getting this movie’s story and plot? I am.
in my personal opinion, TATMR takes place in season 2, and edward isn't there because he is being repaired after the events of edward's exploit

I think they should have made a movie about the Fat Controllers successor with all the engines (season 1-5). but I do still enjoy the movie tho
I think the reason Edward wasn't in the film is because he was at the works when it takes place
My favorite part is when jouner ends up on Deasl 10 then ends up on James in the smelters
If the Reverend was still alive around the time that this movie was released, he likely would said "It's over! I don't want anymore adaptions! I'm putting my works in the public domain, so that the fans can write my stories, at least they understand the realism! Unlike that poxy Alcroft!"

The reason why Thomas ended back up with lady is because there was a deleted scene when pt boomer was supposed to be in the film.

I have a theory be why Thomas went down that that random thing and went for a magic portal there was a cut in the universe there’s at that point and a portal was able to show up for him to get back through
