This VHS is a 1997 reprint of the film. It was first released on VHS in 1980 when it was WCI and it became the first "Looney Tunes" film ever come out on home video. The original WCI version is indeed rare and so difficult to find.
Thankfully I got my Betamax (not VHS) of this movie, and it’s the original 1979 WCI Home Video release and it’s extremely rare. It was the very first “Looney Tunes” film release on home media. The original WCI version has the FBI screen, the 1972 WB “Big W” logo and the start of film. And also, the movie has its problems, because of the film’s runtime. It runs at 90 minutes from the original 98-minute theatrical cut. That was due to time compressed and most of the gags were edited from its original home video release. Same thing happened with the original WCI Home Video release of “Superman: The Movie” also had its problems, but this 1998 VHS like all other previous prints of this movie is the original theatrical cut which runs about 98 minutes and the film was complete and uncut.
I know that the Canadian VHS of The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie removes the Pippi Longstocking trailer (mainly due to Alliance Atlantis owning the VHS rights instead of Warner Bros.)
I remember that I rent this VHS at Blockbuster and Hollywood Video when I was a kid.
