    Thank you Sameul Webster. I teach biomedical instrumentation/Biomedical imaging. While teaching these courses the knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology becomes prerequisite. I did made efforts by self learning from text books. However, your lessons are so helpful to me for gaining the clarity which text book alone just can not. Real 3D visualization with your explanations make it comfortable.

    Unbelievably good videos Sam, coming from a doc readying for surgical exams.
    I know this vid is 5 years old, but just one point. 6:10, with a lesion of the optic tract/radiations it'd be a homonymous hemianopia. Bitemporal hemianopia is a lesion of the optic chiasm

    Hello, sir! First of all, let me sincerely thank you so much for being a light in the dark for me in learning anatomy - I am having an oral anatomy exam in a few days and finding your channel 1/2 months ago gave me the hope I had lost a long ago. Now, I will dare to do exactly what you encourage us to do (being critical about all the info), and expose 3 doubts (please, know that I mean well!):
    1) after talking about a lesion in the right optic tract and the consequent loss of the left visual fields, you concluded naming it ''bitemporal hemianopia'' but shouldn't it be something like "homonymous hemianopia"? Isn't ''bitemporal hemianopia'' how we name a lesion in the optic chiasma (which was the example you gave previously to the one of the optic tract - maybe you were refering to that one?)?;
    2) about the "rabbit in the headlights" (I am not sure if I understood it correctly) for illustrating the sympathetic dilation of the pupil, with all the light doesn't the rabbit actually constrict the pupil (so, parassympathetic)?;
    3) I have seen tons of videos about the anatomical actions vs clinical testing of the extraocular muscles and I remain confused - if in my oral exam I'm asked for instance what CN is injured if a certain patient isn't able to look down & out, should I think about the anatomical actions (concluding it is a lesion of CN IV) or about the clinical testing?
    I am sorry for this looong comment and, again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

    • @SamWebster
      @SamWebster  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks! 1) Yes. 2) Sorry, the rabbit in the headlights thing is about fear rather than bright light. 3) Think about the clinical tests. Keep it simple.
