I believe Murata is in the process of redrawing the fight so it makes a good mid-point in the arc so the anime can take a break there. There is far too much content to cover the whole monster association raid in 1 season, and yeah it won’t even be finished in the manga for at least another year.
Probably one of the best reaction out there for the season 2 finale. Many found the season 2 finale underwhelming, but I enjoyed it soooo much just like you, and am so waiting for S3.

Like if you're going to one punch a thing like Centichoro, who isn't fazed by anything including most class S heroes, it should at least be a serious punch, otherwise the power scaling is real messed up in this show. By using the acts of kindness and the years of training they gave him to create destruction he showed dishonor. Gaaro also showed dishonor when he not only defeated his fellow dojo classmate but put him in the hospital. They ain't going one on one cause they believe even if they do gaaro won't play fair and honorably. They are trying to be unfair on purpose. They want gaaro to suffer the consequences for his actions. They don't want to kill him but they want to break bones and put him in the hospital and make him suffer the pain he inflicted on charunko . Don't get me wrong gaaro is a fun a character and all And disagree if you want but thats Bangs perspective.

The bad thing that in anime they did not clarify that Saitama used a serious punch to defeat Centichoro, as with Boros.
But it was a more precise, reduced version of a serious punch to prevent hurting the city, so its ok.
