Hello, I am 15 years old and am from Canada, and love sailing a lot. I have been watching your videos for a year now and have been truly inspired. I love watching your videos and you have motivated me to one day own a catamaran of my own! Over the last year, you guys have taught me a lot about sailing as well as the history of places all around the world. You have shown me that achieving my dreams is not as hard as I had once thought. Thank you!
SO HAPPY that you loved Bimini. The Shark Lab is fantastic and I am thrilled that they got screen time. They have a way to "adopt" a shark to donate to the cause. So cool. Safe travels.
April of 2017 my friends and I were delivering a lagoon 620 from st John to Nassau and had to tuck behind cat island for a day because we ran into the first tropical storm of the year! Surfing down waves on a 62' cat is something to remember... even though we weren't allowed on the island, we were damn happy to see it!! Also, the pelagic's love green trolling lures down there (green machine). Awesome video! Brings back lots of great memories!
They have a great restaurant, and a decent little grocery store. The way we gained access is to anchor out front, and then dinghy over to the fuel dock to buy some fuel. Being cool with the dock master he then said we could go over to the store. Then that night we went to the restaurant because everyone was used to us.
I love you two. Your editing skills are almost professional. Actually I'd say it is. I have never in my life watched a show on TV where I was positive the naritive was truly genuine. This series on you tube should have a high budget documentry movie made about them in the near future. That's how good and talented these two individuals are. You two are truly awe-inspiring and I hope this series goes on for many more years. Much love from vancouver canada.
Love it. I love every shot of the boat going through the water, every line wrapped around a winch, the anchor chain running out, the snorkeling, just everything. Thanks for sharing.
Something to make the day better. Love the sailing channels out on TH-cam. Channels like this need more support. Also is anyone else watching as many sailing la vagabonde as possible. Love it
We sailed Bimini in May. When calling Cat Cay marina ask to come in for fuel. Once you are fuelling ask to go to the store; from there ask for overnight dockage. Dockage is 2x the going rate and security follows you everywhere but you can use the club washrooms and shower, shop in the stores and go to the bar at night. VERY EXCLUSIVE ISLAND.
It's really a great pleasure to travel with you. I've been watching your videos for more than 2 years now, and this Bahamas trip is one of the best "season" so far.
I just wanna give Elayna some big credit here. I think you do an amazing job of putting together and editing the videos. The little film cuts, music drop ins and voice overs. Nice one. Hope your pregnancy is going well. Can't wait for him to come out and be a part of the vlogs :D
Been waiting for this video for a while! Thanks for promoting the lab guys, we loved having you!! Let us know if you’re ever back around Bimini and we’ll go spear some monsters!
The water looks heavenly! Nice mast hoisty thingamaboob! I remember Riley climbing the mast and jumping off the La Vaga I a few years ago. I will let you come on to my island! (I have to buy one first)
I’ve seen almost every episode now. Gotta say Stephen is BY FAR the best guest you guys ever had on the boat. No one fits in with you two like he does.
I just recently discovered your channel and have watched already so many of your videos. You guys seem so honest and real its refreshing. And I can't wait to keep watching and see what's to come with your little baby boy on the way❤👶🏼
Chewbaca had me lol. Gras you grow that precious cargo!eat video. Love seeing the belly as you grow that precious cargo. Ty for taking us along on this new incredible journey! Keep us updated!!
Several years ago we fueled up at Cat Cay with no advance permission. Once at the fuel dock they said we were welcome to eat at their outdoor grill. Be sure to go to Honeymoon Harbor just north of Cat Cay and feed the wild stingray.
We stopped off there a couple years ago. They let us right on the island. I wonder if some one famous was there and they lock down the island when that happens. There’s a couple islands like that throughout the Bahamas.
I know all about halyards going rogue. The main halyard on my Hallberg-Rassy is wire and it really whips around if you don't watch out. Wiped my deck down-light clean out!
If you're having problems with your dive mask fogging up. It's a silicone left from when they manufactured the mass that on the glass. Put toothpaste on a soft cloth and clean the glass with circular motion, NOT BACK AND FORTH. Any brand of no tears baby shampoo is the best thing in the world to keep your mask from fogging up.place a couple drops on each side and rub in on. , You can also use Avon Skin So Soft for the no see-um bugs,it works great. Thanks again for your video's and the time spent making them.
Agreed, the trick is clean new masks with toothpaste. Then just before diving wash them out with watered down liquid soap (washing up liquid.) Mind you, I always let just a little water in to the mask to slosh around anyway!
Love the Bimini Shark Lab! Did the tour...it was great. We anchored our tri in that same bay a couple of years ago. Watched turtles in the grassy area for hours. Saw a big lemon shark at the surface out in the pass at the south end of South Bimini too. Emailed Its coordinates to the Shark Lab. Fair winds!
Totally use your celeb cred, that'll open a few doors. You guys work damn hard and make it look effortless. Why not have a few perks with the job. Though those crystal clear waters and magically sunsets must make any hard work seem all worthwhile. Keep living the dream.
Just recently saw someone install a solid state speed and depth thru hull with just a flat surface and no moving parts outside the hull. It actually measures the speed of water molecules as they pass by and the depth using I believe radar IIRC.
The little lemon shark was cute :) Not long now until the baby is with you !!! I am wishing you all the best! For baby and Elayna. Sending good energy and well wishes - Charlie xx
I plan to buy a private Island in the Bahamas and establish and off grid community with permiculture gardens farm animals and have a whole section dedicated to cruisers with a community market and outdoor kitchen where everyone can come ashore to camp cook and hang out
A lot of islands are privately owned in the Bahamas. Cat Cay is an uppity vacation spot for rich south Florida people. Walker's Cay is another interesting island down there.
Man, you guys are living the life! Hoping that one day I can sail or even go to a tropical paradise place like where you guys have been. One can only dream, one day
I love to here you say narrow, try saying nasaw is the way we pronounce it. Love you guys and you are right the water in that Bahamas are beautiful. Counting the days to see the BABY. Elana has such a beautiful baby glow about her, good job Riles. Till next week , later 😎
The food issue is probably why they said no. An island has a limited amount of food and if no one wants to take the chance and cost of ordering more food than they need, to have extra for a cruiser that may come by or may not come by before said food spoils, can you really blame them. Or more to the point, poor planning on your part does not make an emergency on my part. Riley, having a family means thinking and planing ahead better than when you are on your own. I do love your videos and thank you for taking the time to make them. Safe sailing to you all.
Hi you guys! You need to use babyshampoo (were fitting for your situation as well!) in your masks before you go in the water. Rub it thoroughly on the inside, leave it for a little while and then rinse it when your in the water. It's the only thing I've found that really works so I thought I'd let you in on my secret ;)
Enjoyed this one very much alittle of everything even Riley's mini-rant about the island....PERFECT!!! How about Riley Junior for the little fella. Or 'Rilay' a combo name, yet still can have the cool nic-name "Riles". There's my 2 cents :) Thanks for the video folks.
I am always so engrossed with watching your videos that I am dismayed when the "thank you for watching" announcement appears. An anguished NOOOOOOOOOO, springs forth. I could just keep watching no matter how long the video was. Thanks for the work you put in. Be safe.
That's a bummer man people won't even let you get food ..... On the good note i love your code D sail !!!! take care be safe enjoy your time in the USA !!!
You two are awesome, what a fantastic video. I just kicked back and had a good time. My youngest Son is named Reilly. I showed one of you videos to him and he got a kick out of the way you were saying Reily. Looking forward to your next installment. You two should come to California in the Summer and visit. Although I do enjoy the Caribbean
Other than being a member the only way to get on Cat Cay is to have an emergency - medical (they have a fully staffed medical clinic with emergency physicians on duty) or sinking or stranded by law they have to let you on.

Hey Riley, if you use Johnson Baby Shampoo to wash the snorkel mask before you use it, it won't fog at all. Any washing up liquid will work, but I've found that baby shampoo works the best. You might even have some laying around soon enough! Best of luck.
Good advice. Saliva works in lieu of shampoo. But if the mask is new this won't work. New masks are covered in a film which protects them before sale. You have to burn this off before use, which is what I assume these guys are doing.

Gus..good solid name. One quick syllable for when you need to yell for him. You can’t shorten it to make a nickname, easy for him to learn to spell..everyone can easily pronounce it.
