Oh, shit... you are doing the whole show. I've watched this entire concert over 10 times in the past month. Love these rock and roll sisters from Monterey.
The album starts with "Dust to "Dust" which is a flash forward to the protagonist's funeral. The male voice is performed by their manager, Rudy, who is performing the part of the preacher. The protagonist is a stalker who murders her love interest.
Yes, I agree: cryptic and poetic. Like what you often get with poetry and some song lyrics (much of Dylan, the Beatles Sergeant Pepper and White Album) a heavy emphasis on imagery, symbolism, analogy and metaphor allow for a meaning to be pointed to or hinted at, while leaving enough space open for people to relate to the words in ways personal to themselves and according to their own life experiences... In some interview, the girls even discussed how they don't like to say exactly what each song is about, so that people can come up with their own interpretations.
I hope you fastened your seat belt before jumping into "Ugh." I'll throw this in here... Queen Of The Murder Scene is far and away the best album I have ever listened to. Alongside XXI Century Blood, The Warning's first album. Thank you so much for taking on the entire album in order. You will not be disappointed. I say with all sincerity, it is a true masterpiece. A little "inside" information: The ladies consider it a "Rock Novel", as opposed to a "Rock Opera." I believe you will agree after hearing/seeing it, or at some point during. I eagerly look forward to the rest of your reactions.
Great reaction! Always on point. As the album progresses, you will see how Daniela becomes the main protagonist of the story (concept album), it is amazing! You will love that album I promise.
Crimson Queen introduces the girl’s (the Queen’s) obsession. She loves someone who doesn’t know she exists. Her feelings are intense, confusing, and conflicting, and are overpowering her. She would do anything for him to love her. Innocent enough, so far.
Great you're doing the album in order Jman! Dany certainly conveys emotion which is one of reasons I love this band -- I believe them! I don't know how she delivered this good of a vocal performance due to the altitude. The Lunario is in Mexico City (7500 ft) and they're from Monterrey (1500 ft). The Foro Didi performance six months later was in Monterrey and Dany's performance was amazing despite the fact that her guitar mic went out and she ended up singing virtually a cappella. Worth seeing!
There are bands that focus on flashy technical ability. The Warning, although entirely capable, focus on the feeling of a song. They don't feel the need to cram 1000 notes into 2 bars, but they won't stop working on a song until if conveys the feeling they want. They use that dissonant feeling in a lot of songs n this album. It's a very haunting taie.
Love how they change singers though out the performances. and how Dany's emotion changes every song. Pau has a unique voice and suited well for their songs, nice to see when they use other instruments as well. And Ale always the showman while playing, sometimes more active or less depending on the song it seems. Thanks for the good reactio be safe cioa for now
I'm sure multiple people will tell you this was a high altitude concert and it really affected her breathing so I would suggest the Foro Didi concert for better sound overall, better bass sound and stronger singing. I like the camera work better as well. It has links to each song at the top of the comment section.
@timething At Lunario they have cooler outfits and the atmosphere is more suitable. Foro Didi is better in sound and video quality and also show the audience more ( _which I like_ ). Especially Dust to Dust is a *LOT* better from Foro Didi.
Yes, this is the introduction of "The Queen" and her obsession with someone that doesn't know she exists. Keep going, Jman! The more you listen, the more you will understand. They made this album purposely cryptic, so it is left to the interpretation of each listener. Absolute Genius from such young ladies! This song is why Dany is our Crimson Queen!
Melechesh - Multiple truths next pls ! Its a rare hidden gem that sets a high standard for the very band that created it. It's a very tasty and fascinating mix between beautifull melodic lines and mystic a thmosphere and sick heavy riffage. The thematic and lyrics are at least as fascinating and they quite well balance the message with the instrumentation. There are definitely black and death metal influences but that's doesn't really tells you a lot about their sound. Can't wait to see you reaction !
Hello, just a suggestion: you have hit the same problem as with Human Nature, the tracks don't really show in order in your YT video list, so adding a number to it might make more sense, especially for people unfamiliar with the album. And good choice for the full album/concert review!
Yes, she is very good at drawing you into every song. She is a troubadour.

this was the song where i started to really like what Dany's voice brings to a song 8)

One of their recent shows Dani's acoustic was working so she did the song with just Ale playing bass. It was pretty magical.
There's a ton of reaction videos out there for the Warning. I really like your thoughtful approach to their songs. Well done sir.
One thing both Pau (the drummer) and Dany (the guitarist) have in common is their emotional vocals. They put everything into it.
I'm here for The Warning! suscribed, Let's do this

Dany always brings a complete performance! It is about an unrequited love, though things later turn toxic!
"Toxic" made me smile.... Kind of an understatement : )
Wuthering Heights has been called a love story set in hell. I feel a little bit the same about this story; however, the "love" here is all one-sided.
Love it! 🤘🏻❤️⚠️

When Jman first did these The Warning reactions I gave him Foro DiDi and Lunario links

It's more of an obsession and not a cute one.
