At first, I was a bit hesitant to watch this one as I found the 1st episode a bit boring and thought Elias as an old man 🤣 but I am taking back my words! After few years of ignoring this masterpiece, I am inlove on how these two evolved and changed. And now I am binged-watching mahou tsukai no yome even reading manga and light novels. I don't really mind what Elias really look like, his appearance will tell you how you see a person base on your own perspective. Elias for me is a gentlemen with a pure heart and intentions, and Chise is really a strong woman.
I seriously feel awkward when others, especially my friends who watch anime too, call Elias as scary, monster and weird. But I really like the way he is.

The Ancient Magus' Bride is one of my all-time favourites! I love the story, I love the art and animation, I love Elias and Chise's relationship. I wish for more! Elias is beautiful just the way he is.
I just found this and I haven’t even seen the anime, but this made me so happy that I started crying. This just goes to show that you don’t need to be attractive to find love a little kindness can go a long way and sometimes all people need is a little kindness to get them throughout the day, this was such a good edit and it showed a great message and you have now showed me another anime to love and cry about.
Dorrin RH if your looking for crazy fight scenes and a shonen jump Naruto Bleach type show then this is not for you but if you want something that is so tender and provides you with esoterically accurate representations of magic, the removal of the veil that blocks normal humans eyes from the lives that share this space on the planet with us and allows you to understand more about these lives and how they live and then ties the whole thing together in a love story that transcends all boundaries and barrier between two lives that come from different sides of the veil and are completely opposite in every way but become attracted to each other by a force that can only be described as.... well to know is to watch it and not to read it.
