    Sir in IS code there is no provision of property modifier ..so what value we should used while defining member ?

    • @structguru2200
      @structguru2200  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Then use the value from ACI-318 manual. I have explained in my video why we should apply property modifiers. You can choose the value by how much percentage you want to reduce the stiffness.

    sir, Is it not required to use slab stiffness modifier in all three axes as 0.25. You have not used this. is there any reason behind it sir. Moreover please give the reference of the clause either in indian code or ASCE or UBC regarding Torsional constant as 0.01 which you have used during defining column & beam section .

    • @structguru2200
      @structguru2200  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes! you have to use it. I forgot to put the modifiers value

    • @structguru2200
      @structguru2200  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To know about torsion factored value you can refer to ETABS ACI-318 manual section 3.5.3.1

      Considering the IS code the modifiers for slab section is 0.25. we have apply this in the same way as we do for beams and columns.

    why did you use torsional constant 0.01 for beam instead of 0.35 and for Beam as well?

    • @structguru2200
      @structguru2200  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The torsional value of 0.01 is considered so as to set very low torsional stiffness in the member. That means, the member will not be able to take any torsional stresses.
