Wayne Richardson was from WA as i recall. I also recall that it wasn't State of Origin more just state v state of then current players and Richardson was playing at Collingwood. Hence why he played for Victoria that day. I'm sure there were others in the same boat. Seems a bit silly doesn't it?
@@AussieTVMusic Actually it didn't even out at all. Many of the top WA players like Barry Cable and the Richardson brothers were in Victoria at the time and so couldn't play for WA. Conversely there were very few top VFL players in WA. Hassa Mann was the exception and he was only attracted to the West to become playing coach for South Fremantle.

Very silly. Pre-State of Origin was rather unfair. Just how the Vics like it.
