One of the best videos I share with new road going cycle commuters is British Cycling's Commute Smart Playlist. One of the key videos is "How to position yourself on the road correctly when cycling". Highly recommended series! The Brits drive in the same side of the road as us and the recommendations they make in the playlist applies very well to Singapore apart from the how to dress for cycle commute.

Good tips, especially the route planning with more left turns and less right turns... never thought of that!

Not the best advice, I can see you're young and fit, so most of your advice cannot transfer to other commuters. I see you're picking routes that has heavy multilane traffic, those are the worst bike routes. You're putting your life in the hands of drivers who are more distracted today and could be very incapable in some situations. Instead, pick slower narrow roads where cars are slowed naturally by the narrowness of the roads. Or ideally a separated bike or walk lane from cars. You may one day get into an accident or worse, but bad advice videos like this will live on the internet still.

That's all subjective and depends on the road. Narrow roads can be more dangerous and cause road road rage in motorists. Multi-lane roads can allow cars to pass more easily.
