To get to the main part of the lake I would GPS cricket creek marina, if you go there it's great for boating and fishing. And they are really nice at the marina, they also have a fish feeding station that's fun to stop at
I always freeline small goldfish for cats, no weight, no float, just a hook with the goldfish. And yes deepfried catfish nugs, then take the batter and make hush puppies. Biggest ive caught was close to 30 pounds out of lake norman, had to tie off on anchor rope to side of my boat to jog back to the docks cause it wouldnt fit in my livewell. Ive caught pb large mouth same way, completely pulled my boat around after it jerked my anchor loose. Watching these videos really have me wantinv to get back out to the lake.
I’ve caught quite a few nice cats in broad river and you would be right to assume they get even bigger. Can’t wait to see how many more big ones you catch.
Hey buddy I absolutely love mixing some of the fisher tasting fish in the franks hot sauce to help take away some of the fishy taste!!! Franks hot sauce does make several different levels of hot to them!!! I definitely do not like to eat spicy food because I like to enjoy my food and be able to taste it!!! I will use franks wing hot sauce and I believe it is there mildest hot sauce that they make and I definitely don’t mind it!!! I also try not to let the fish soak very long because the longer you end up soaking the fish in the hot sauce the hotter the fish will take on the hot sauce flavor!!! Definitely give the franks wing hot sauce a try and also try using some bullheads instead of baby catfish!! The bullheads are definitely catfish candy for the bigger cats for sure!!! If you thought that blue that you caught was big I almost guarantee you that you will get even bigger ones useing bullheads!!! Good luck buddy!!!!

Try offet octopus hooks,I found them to have a much better hook set and yet stay hooked as good as circle hooks. Good luck .Let me know in a video on your thoughts after trying the..
It would be cool to see you do a gear video again this year in the off-season (winter?). Kill two birds with one stone, make sure you’ve got everything ready for the different types of content like single day kayak or small boat videos, overnight camping videos, boat camping videos, offshore videos… and kind of run through the inventory with us? I think you’ve done that before, just saying I’d enjoy another update video :)
U gotta secure ur baits on better. With either rubber bands or cut clear water bottles in tiny square and poke um on the barb after ur bait. Make the squares an inch by inch.
down here in Texas we can't use channel cats for bait ... but we can use bullhead catfish which works good too. .... did you cut the bellies off or leave them? there is a lot of meat there also
Those big flatheads will pick and drop it half a dozen times before they commit. Don't fret waiting. Give some 7/0 circles a try. Just set it and forget it. You'll know when a cat is in when it starts screaming drag

you have to try using chicken hurts to fish for big flat head cat fish it's great bait thats what we use hear in namibia you must try it out
