When I got hired I literally started crying. I was just walking around my apartment saying I did it, I did it!! 2 months later I was driving down to Florida from Ohio!

It’s incredible how these little moments at Disney world have such an impact on your life. I have the most vivid memory of eating in la Celliar in the Canada pav when I was around six years old .My family were the last guests and we had the nicest waiter Bradley from Apple he was chatting to us all night making us laugh paying particular attention to me, anyway it got to being the last guests and we ordered our dessert and Bradley came out with the chef and a bunch of other cast members, I got given a little chef outfit to wear and they all took a photo with me and my chocolate moose (I’m still trying to find that photo to this day). We walked out of the Canada pav and there was no one around I think we were the last people in the park . Some lovely cast member rushed over to us and asked if we were lost. I still think about this magic moment a lot and how it impacted my love of disney. I’m forever grateful for Bradley from Apple, Canada. I’m forever sad we didn’t give him a cast complement.

In two thousand five my sister and I had the worst vacation ever it started at her apartment house.
waiting for triple A company to free my sisters car from the ice.
this was the start of all stress happening. everything went so friggin wrong but finally after a few hours the man got my sisters car unstuck from ice.
we got to the airport with a few minutes to spare. we got over to Sea World in Miami Florida.
now the house keeping was just rude and not friendly at the hotel my sister asked for more towels.
the hotel personal did not even say hello to any of us. long story short my sister had her camera taken From her over there. the entire trip was the worst. all we wanted to do was just get back from Florida.
anyone else have a very bad vacation let me know about it.
      Emily take care be well.

My daughter also did the American college program the same time as you in Hollywood Studios, but in the Quick Service (Disney Backlot Express) and now has a full-time job in Batuu (Star Wars). She's living hers and MY dream. Sadly though she's going to be furloughed with what's going on, but she'll be back once it opens up again. Both of you have the same Disney Magic personality and I like watching your stories cuz it reminds me of her.

I love this so, so much! Being a WDW CM has been my biggest dream since I was 7, and I also love looking back on my journey with Disney. It made me so happy hearing about your first program acceptance. It truly is the best feeling!

Your visit to the park at 11 really resonated with me, when i was also 11, i went to wdw and got a snow white costume, and i loved it as snow white has always been my favorite and it would be my third time dressing up as her, but then halloween came around and all my friends were already dressing up more maturely and i was feeling forced to “grow up”... but i decided to go dressed as snow white anyways, i totally loved it although i felt really out of place :)

You literally had the best childhood!! I only got to go twice(?) as a little kid (not sure if it was twice or more since my mom and dad would take turns taking me, and I was so young that I remember none of it :( then I went again 10 years ago just like you at age 14! And it was sooo awkward for me as well, I was constantly battling between wanting to have fun at the parks and feeling like I was too old to "have fun", so that ruined the magic for me. Haven't gone back since, and the worst part is that I only live 3 hours away (and have lived 3 hours away my whole life)!! My family was never much into disney sadly. I'm finally hoping to go early next year once I save up and I plan to enjoy the parks in ways that 14 yr old me would have never dared!!

This video made me emotional, and it's not even my story! Aside from also being a 24-year-old girl and loving Disney, haha. I'm so happy you were able to live your dream, Emily! And I'm definitely glad you decided to share your Disney experience with all of us - it's good to know I have a kindred spirit out there, keeping the magic alive while we brave the weird world of adulthood.

Yes i feel you! Both the part that you wanted to do it since you were 16 and the part the you were scared of leaving the park and having to grow up and getting real adult job.I have heard about the program since I was a first year student but unfortunately my university study was super intense that I got only 2 weeks summer break or less each year.So I had to wait until my last year of university which was 5years later because my degree require 6years of study which was a super long journey but I have never forgotten about the ICP and when my year finally came, I also called my country's agency even before the application started to make sure that i wouldn't miss it.

My love for Disney did not start until I was already in my 20's. Don't get me wrong I went a few times when I was a kid and loved it. But it didn't have a true impact on my life until 2011 when I was 22. Rewind to 2008, my cousin, who I grew up with like a big brother, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive from of liver cancer. Over the next 3 years he fought, and fought hard. Medical treatments, major surgeries. I believe at one point they removed 85% of his liver. But by 2011 all options were exhausted, the only thing we had left was time, and not much.
During the same time my younger sister was dreaming of visiting Disney to celebrate her High School graduation. She asked me to go, along with her boyfriend at the time. It was supposed to be just the 3 of us, but I felt like I'd be a 3rd wheel on the trip, and it was difficult for me to find someone to go with. I was casually speaking to one of my Aunts about this when she asked if I thought of my cousin Ronald. I thought for a few minutes, then stepped away and called my mother. She liked the idea so she called his mother. They spoke with the doctors and all agreed it would be a great idea to take him. So his parents, and a few of my aunts pooled their money and sent him along with us.
Before the trip my mother called Disney Guest Relations, and told us to visit their desk ad Magic Kingdom. We went, gave our names, and they handed us a pass, which allowed us to skip every line in their parks for the duration of our trip. That was the first time I truly experienced the "Disney bubble." We essentially had a key to the world, and the parks were our playground. From that moment nothing out side of the parks seemed to matter, there was no cancer, that was no doctor appointments, or medication schedule, there was just "which ride to go on next" and "what time are the fireworks" I can go on and on about details, but in summary it like like we were living a perfect dream.
After we flew home I got to see Ronald 2 more times out of the hospital, once for my 23rd birthday that August, and again for a Labor Day BBQ as a family members house. But by September he was admitted into hospice and the only thing left was to wait. I visited a few times, but each time got harder and harder, and he was "there" less and less. When we was we spoke often about the trip, it seemed to be the only thing that would make him smile. His battle was over that December, he was 25 year old. His mother let me bury him with a photo of us in front of Cinderellas Castle, she said it was all he spoke about the last few months.
Sorry for the long depressing post, but it's what truly started my fascination with Disney. After 3 years of depressing news and heart break Disney able to give my cousin a week of freedom before the worst happened. And Disney gave me memories not even cancer can take away.

I got accepted for the Fall 2020 program! I'm over the moon excited!!! That day I was talking to one of my classmates who said she got accepted to the program and it made me slightly doubt that I would get in. I took a deep breath and thought if it's suppose to, it will happen. No joke the second I finished that thought, I got an email notification saying Congratulations😭 I almost screamed but I was on my college campus😂 I didn't even look at it and ran to my car to call my family! Like you I started a channel and my first video is all about how I got accepted because to me it was just God planning all of it😊

I live in California about half an hour away from disneyland and have been an AP for most of my life(I'm 17). I've been a disney fan since the day I was born because my mom has always been obsessed with disney. I really hope to do the DCP out and Florida and maybe work at disneyland one day too. Some people don't always understand why I love the parks so much as they only see it as a place to ride rides and don't truly understand how much it connects people together. I've made friends because of disney and have so many great memories because of it. And like you said, you had this fear of growing up and disney didn't make you feel like you had to grow up and it's kind of the same with me. It gives a way to feel free and I could be myself without having to grow up. This comment is a mess but I've been missing the parks and felt the need to share lol

Ahh oh my gosh I know exactly what you mean about when you get your email! A similar thing happened to me when my DLP contract came through. It was literally only 1 week after I auditioned and it was that day that I had given up checking my emails everyday. Typical haha. One of the guys from my audition messaged me saying he got his contract through and I immediately checked my emails and there it was, sat in my inbox. I FREAKED OUT! I literally just burst into tears in excitement, ran downstairs balling my eyes out and could barely speak and my parents were like "omg are you ok?!" and I literally just nodded my head and passed them my phone haha! Oh my gosh, literally just typing that has given me back the excitement I felt when it happened haha!
I am hoping to apply for the CRP when applications open again to continue my Disney journey so maybe I'll get to feel that excitement again one day!
I wish I had known about the summer program while I was at uni! I did know about the year long one as some of my friends did it but it wasn't common for my course to take a year out for work experience as I did Sport and Exercise Science so unfortunately I missed out on the college program. I wish I'd known that anyone could do it, I thought it was only for the courses my friends were doing as they did things like Tourism.
Loved listening to your Disney story Emily! Thank you for sharing it! Hope you have a great day!xx

I'm 36 years old. I've LOVED Disney since I was a little girl, but my family was poor and I didn't get to go to a Disney park until I was almost 28. I went to Disneyland with my boyfriend (now husband) and his family. And then the following summer we honeymooned near Disney World, and it was my first time there. Since then we've been back to Disneyland twice (because we're on the West Coast USA and it's closer), and our 3 year old son has been twice already. My next goal is to stay at a Disney resort, but that probably won't happen until my kid(s) are bigger. I'm so grateful that loving Disney knows no age nowadays, because I absolutely love the magic.

Thank you Emily - this was a wonderful video! As a 26 year old male who is obsessed with Disney, I know the struggle of wanting to appear ‘cool’ and blasé re the Disney parks and atmosphere. I went a lot when I was a kid and teenager also and even spent one trip where I went to just the universal park’s as I thought I was too old for Disney. But that wasn’t true at all! As Walt himself said, Disneyland is for the young AND the young at heart :D so fully embraced the love and magic that Disney brings and now cannot wait to go back after this is all over!

Thank you Emily! What a wonderful video😊. I really needed this right now. Your Disney journey, up to DCP, mirrored my 2 kids (boys) exactly😮 (although not the same time line - they’re older, with families). They love Disney and we’ve booked a whole family trip (I hope🙏) for November. I’m especially excited because it’ll be my granddaughter’s 1st visit. Her dad and mom use TV shows, DVDs, Disney+, and pics from their trips to introduce her to the Parks, but nothing will compare to when she feels the magic herself!! A little favor - please give a shoutout to my younger son who’s a physician on the front lines in Denver, CO.

That was a cool story! I don't really know how I got into Disney, i mean i liked it as a kid, but I'd only seen the lion king, Bambi and Dumbo until I was about 12(as my parents aren't film people!), then somehow decided I wanted to go to Disney world, which at the time wasn't in our families budget, my parents thought it was a phase but unfortunately for their bank accounts, it wasn't! so after lots of saving we went in 2015(I was 16 at the time, so 4 years of badgering my parents was the magic number) and i've been obsessed ever since! That same year I got with my Girlfriend who loves all things Disney but has only been to Paris, and it was her who got me into all the films and the non parks related things and now I cant imagine not loving all of it! I guess that brings us up to now, and to saving hard over uni summers working to go next summer after graduation!!!! I always wanted to do the DCP but it just wasn't compatible with my degree as summer of second year we had to do a 6 week mapping project(Oban Scotland for me!) and as I'm studying an integrated masters my 3rd year summer is supposed to be filled with researching/Experiments/fieldwork(corona dependent i guess now!) which makes me very sad! Stay safe Everyone and keep daydreaming of disney!

People do not like JJ Abrams they feel he ruined Star Wars movies because fans didn't like how the script to.
    A Solo Story,
    The Force Awakens,
    Rouge One,
    Last Jedi,
    Rise Of Skywalker,
turned out with Lucas not being in the directors chair. and the company cared more about money lost on merchandise.
It's sad because all fans matter friends and family. it's not about the company it's about fans.
everyone matters do not forget that peace out all.
