I don't know the modern controls well but I know there's a walk button that keeps you from falling off ledges so you can set up jumps. But I only know the original controls and the grid based level design was made with the tank controls in mind. Lara's home is a low stakes place to practice the controls and it's a guided tutorial. Though you'll probably need to look at the controls because Lara doesn't specify what buttons to press in the tutorial. And again it doesn't account for the modern controls because the voice lines are for the original PS1 controls. And they assume players were also reading the manuals that aren't included in this collection. Which is an oversight in my opinion. It's amazing how much you just picked up from playing the game. You're doing really well.
