    I’m just learning about gardening. We have a side hill that I want that Calgary Carpet on. And I LOVE how you show how to prune without looking like a straight edge 👍

    First time viewer. Excellent tutorial!!! I love the hands on instruction, damage mitigation advice as well as advice for different garden applications using junipers. I have beautiful specimen Hollywood junipers that need to be pruned. They are stunning, but one bad pruning decision will ruin the look. I'm going to poke around your TH-cam selection to see if I can find help specific to Hollywood Junipers. Thank you for your help!

    I love your tutorials! I do have a question- do you fertilize your junipers and when ? Thanks!

      Not directly. I fertilize my lawn once yearly (usually June) so they only get what pellets make their way into the mulch and rock beds when spreading. And I’m sure the root systems of many have also advanced under the turf roots.

    I love Calgary Carpet. Right now I want a mass roadside planting that needs to be highly road salt tolerate. Do you think Calgary can take it? Tried to search engine and came up with other varieties only. Aiming for 12-18” height, lower if I need to

      I'm not sure. I've never had a situation where one was exposed to salt to observe the results. If Buffalo or Arcadia came up in your search, they are also great Junipers.

    Can I use the clipped pieces to grow roots? And may be plant them?

    • @gardenhike
      @gardenhike  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes. Cuttings can be rooted in soil. For best results provide controlled conditions that will provide 100% humidity, warm soil and perhaps some rooting hormone. Lot’s of information is available on the internet that goes into more of the specifics.

    Do snakes like to hide in blue rug juniper. I read they like it. I thought it was to prickly for they skin.

      I know they like rock areas, but I’m not sure about their attraction to Junipers. I’ve never seen any in mine.

    You you plant those cuttings that have roots?

    • @gardenhike
      @gardenhike  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were container grown with an established root ball in soil.

    What grass killer is safe for blue rug juniper?

      Double check, but I believe Junipers are listed on the label of Grass Beater, a Bonide product.
