this was a huge hit in mother russia. you gotta understand that neither snes nor the n64 got any widespread in here so this was considered as a true follow up to the streets of rage series. had so much fun with it back in the days, great game, espesially taking into consideration the fact that there weren't too much of true beat em ups on the ps1 to begin with.
+Jackthetattedone nah, there's a much accurate videogame representation of typical russia. search for "streets of russia walkthrough" or simply check my channel's videos and you'll see what i mean. :D

+Jordan Etherington there also was a sequel to fighting force, a cool but rather unknown game called Crisis beat and for some reason capcom ported their 1993 arcade beat em up Captain Commando to the ps1 in 1997, rather wierd move, since even though it was a perfect port, but by 1997 it was kinda outdated and "oldfashioned". ah, and that the crow game that the AVGN revieved recently also can be considered as a beat em up, but that game is garbage, of course.
This game had a bunch of secrets. You only get guns at start of level if you rush through the doors on the previous level when it said stage clear. You get points for destroying environment. Points = continues. Each char has a special move also, that drains health, that you do by pressing X+O together.
+xnightshadyx There's only one Nick Murphy in Philly. If there were anymore they'd have to battle once a month for the title of the One True Nick (Of Philadelphia). Its in the constitution.
I kinda want play it to legit become joshs catchphrase and then in like 3 episodes it gets a laugh track added then by episode 5 it always has a freeze frame with the laugh track and then after the 6th episode it is retired and never heard again.
Holy nostalgia! This was one of the first PS1 games I owned when I got one back in '97. Maybe it's because I was 10 at the time, or maybe it's because this was one of the first fully polygonal games I played at length (along with the original Tomb Raider) but I thought it was pretty fucking sweet. It reminded me of Die Hard Arcade, which I loved and wished I could have had at home to play (I never owned a Saturn back then though). Good times.
I like this one. It's not beat 'em up gold like Streets of Rage, but it's still pretty decent. It was one of the first games I ever reviewed a couple years back. Fun stuff.
i actually love this game. I rented it a few times back in the day for n64 and thought it was awesome because it was like the only coop beat em up for the system that i knew of. I need to buy a copy of it.
Paul, Brian Cranst (indy game maker extraordinaire) recently informed me that Fighting Force was originally going to be Streets of Rage 4 but they changed the name cause Sega didn't want that series on the Playstation! I loved this game as a kid, played the crap out of it with my brother, good times.
that game was cool lol. another exapmle of where three d isnt always a good thing, but its fun. id continue. brutal as hell lol. you guys are always awesome, another great episode. thanks tseb eht si hsoj etirovaf ym si hsoj
Yep I remember this! I hate the tank controls but I didn't know that back then, LOL! Wait... It doesn't have tank controls?! My memory is betraying me?!
It's interesting that Nick edited this episode and made the game look fun as hell to play with friends (because of how much stupid crap there is in it) and he was the only one to "gameover" the game. I wonder, if in hindsight of the editing, he doubted his decision...
+Continue? Seems like you guys Game Over almost everything you play these days. When the show was still young I remember you guys Continuing a lot of games and being a lot more generous with them. Now it feels like a Continue is actually pretty rare, especially from Nick. The guy's become jaded!
Ah, Fighting Force...the game that was originally meant to be a 3D installment to the Streets of Rage series. Sucks that didn't happen, would've love to see that shit. Regardless, this game was pretty good for the time.
ah, the game that was going to be Streets of Rage 4 but was turned down when they wanted to go Multiplatform and not restricted to just the Sega Saturn
This game was the absolute fucking best. Just straight grind and kick ass.
I fucking love this episode. Oh god, my sides.

+Skyk0rn The only other ones on the ps1 I can even think of was a port of that Die Hard arcade game.
This seems like its just a video game version of an average day in Russia.
+Jackthetattedone nah, there's a much accurate videogame representation of typical russia. search for "streets of russia walkthrough" or simply check my channel's videos and you'll see what i mean. :D

Josh later went on to become the Bop It guy.
Bop it!
Twist it!
Pass it!
+Dresdenstl Smoke it!
+Dresdenstl Play it
"it never was"
i know that feeling bros.
+Thresh The Chain Warden I thought I was the only one.
its been so long I never thought id see this game ever again wow the good old days in the early 90s *sighs*
I really liked the editing on this episode. Also this is another game where I could have watched you guys play the whole thing through.
"Is that a water fountain?"
"Yea, it probably has a gun in it."
Video game logic
One of the best-underrated video game channels out there, y'all need more subs'
Oh wow my brother and I use to play this game all the time. So good!
OMG, I REMEMBER HOW FUN THIS GAME WAS, AND IT HAD OTHER DEMOS WITH IT!
This was one of my childhood favorites.
i swear to god if josh doesn't keep the "play it" catchphrase i'm gonna be slightly upset.
Slightly
This game had a bunch of secrets. You only get guns at start of level if you rush through the doors on the previous level when it said stage clear.
You get points for destroying environment. Points = continues.

Hey Nick, do you work on anything for Preston and Steve in Philly? I was listening to them on my work commute and thought I heard your name.
+Tomato Broth That's my day job.
+Continue? Oh nice, good to know. Great episode by the way!
+Continue? Oh snap. I assumed you were two different Philadelphian Nick Murphies.
+xnightshadyx There's only one Nick Murphy in Philly. If there were anymore they'd have to battle once a month for the title of the One True Nick (Of Philadelphia). Its in the constitution.
I love you Josh.
The fight against Jetpac was pretty much an elongated version of the last scene from the Captain America: Civil War trailer.
I kinda want play it to legit become joshs catchphrase and then in like 3 episodes it gets a laugh track added then by episode 5 it always has a freeze frame with the laugh track and then after the 6th episode it is retired and never heard again.
i feel the same way now, it's way better than what i remember
Dude I love Fighting Force! Especially with Friends haha great vid.
Wednesday's are my favorite day because of you guys
Holy nostalgia! This was one of the first PS1 games I owned when I got one back in '97. Maybe it's because I was 10 at the time, or maybe it's because this was one of the first fully polygonal games I played at length (along with the original Tomb Raider) but I thought it was pretty fucking sweet. Fighting Force. Fuggin' love this game.
Oh my god, YES! I loved this game growing up. Awesome co-op.
This was one of my fav PS1 games
Josh so good at catch phrases. Keep on Wizardin. Play it. Gold Happens Bro.
JoshTron
I still own the original of this game for PS1, and a digital downloadable version on PS3. It's legendary!
guys I played this game when I was a kid, so many memories!!!
This was one of those games I got a demo copy of as a kid. I played the demo intro level more than the actual game lol
So now they have 3 ways to rank a game either by Game Over, Continue or Play It
I like this one. It's not beat 'em up gold like Streets of Rage, but it's still pretty decent. It was one of the first games I ever reviewed a couple years back. Fun stuff.
I fucking LOVED this game as a kid. Beat it with my friends too many times.
I loved this game when I was a kid. I played this shit all the time.
LOVE the catch phrase!
I'm into this whole "play it" schtick.
I played probably a billion hours of this game back in the day.
alanna was always my favorite she was the fastest and did all the cool moves
this game was originally intended to be Streets of Rage 4
I would play the first level over and over again on the demo disk that came with the ps1.
i actually love this game. I rented it a few times back in the day for n64 and thought it was awesome because it was like the only coop beat em up for the system that i knew of. I need to buy a copy of it.
This episode immediately smelled of nick editing with the classy Italian movie reference. What even is Paul?
Holy shit, I forgot about this game! I loved this when I was a kid!
perfect game, i have spend lot of time back on ps1
First Josh becomes a Lich, now he's suddenly looking like a dad. 10/10
I used to love playing this game as a kid. rolling around as the huge guy and kicking open vending machines 2 the wee hours of the mornin.
I love you guys so much
Used to love this game on 64 haha
Was I the only person who totally expected the motorcycle explosion to be an Epic Maneuver?
I used to play the shit outta this one when I was little. Good old couch co-op days!
8:16 Nick Murphy is Kick Box Er.....
I played the hell out of this game when it first came out.
I've heard that signs theory before. I think it was popularized on reddit a few years ago.
Loved this game as a kid, but it was hard as hell.
Whoa, Mace had no polygons for her body in the intro thing.
This game was a pretty early 3-d beat 'em up that did age pretty badly. At the end of the day, there's a reason that the best beat 'em ups are 2D.
I havent played this in years and i was like "Can't you grab enemies?" then i was like "Hell yeah you can"
that game was cool lol. another exapmle of where three d isnt always a good thing, but its fun. id continue. brutal as hell lol. you guys are always awesome, another great episode. thanks
tseb eht si hsoj etirovaf ym si hsoj

Wait... It doesn't have tank controls?! My memory is betraying me?!
Love the ZERO shirt

Wow. that extra ps4 core has really helped. this is easily the best looking ps4 game out there
dude I totally remember a demo for this
It's interesting that Nick edited this episode and made the game look fun as hell to play with friends (because of how much stupid crap there is in it) and he was the only one to "gameover" the game. I wonder, if in hindsight of the editing, he doubted his decision...
+Isaac Haddox Nope. It was a fun time playing but that game was kind of boring.
+Isaac Haddox It does seem like a game that's fun for the first hour but the next 4 maybe not so much.
+Continue? Seems like you guys Game Over almost everything you play these days. When the show was still young I remember you guys Continuing a lot of games and being a lot more generous with them. Now it feels like a Continue is actually pretty rare, especially from Nick. The guy's become jaded!
I loved this game when I was a kid, but I played it on the N64, and remember it being slightly better than the Playstation version.
Ah, Fighting Force...the game that was originally meant to be a 3D installment to the Streets of Rage series. Sucks that didn't happen, would've love to see that shit. Regardless, this game was pretty good for the time.
Paul's dude looks like one of those balloon animal guys who injected too much synthol.
on point, THE WHOLE DAMN TIME /throws gun.
I got this game it has so much fun to this
So beautiful games a good job
I have beaten both the N64 and PSX version, and I gotta say that I've enjoyed the N64 version most
ah, the game that was going to be Streets of Rage 4 but was turned down when they wanted to go Multiplatform and not restricted to just the Sega Saturn
Oh my gosh I remember this gaaaame. OvO Is it my turn to feel old already?
Bane approves of this episode.
Now, then... how does one acquire a cartridge of Die Hard Arcade to send them?
I came back to say that I occasionally drop a “play it” every now and then. My spouse doesn’t really know why.
Those ps1 beat 'em ups are rough. I'd Game Over this title.
It's actually Jack Ruby Tuesdays
You guys missed the jet plane gun.
Did anybody else read the Ys as 4s? Kell4
Jack Ruby Tuesday's?
Just looked up a shit load of Exosquad episodes to add to my Watch Later list.
played this on a demo disc like crazy.
BITE! THOSE! CONSONANTS!
"Play it!"
This game was originally supposed to be Streets of Rage 4.
Fighting force was so good.
This game is awesome!
Does this mean we're gonna get a "play it" shirt?
Josh is so cool. Somebody get him a leather jacket.
Jack Ruby - Ruby Tuesdays - ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED!
Alice from Resident Evil movie looks remarkably like Mace...
3:41 EPIC MANUEVER! :p
Only cuz of that filthy co-op. Shits awesome.
Generally, revolvers had 5 round cylinders.
Dude I was just thinking about this game yesterday SCORE
Josh you've been really on-point lately.
Can I rub your head?
I played the fuck out of this game as a kid
