FULL RED ALBINO GUPPIES | BREEDING FOR PROFIT

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 30 มิ.ย. 2018
  • This was shot a couple months back.
    Details/updates on full red albino guppy colony. I started out with 3 females and 2 males. Still trying to grow them out. This is my first time being successful at keeping them alive. I tried 3 other time with just sponge filter and did not have any luck. This setup has been working for me. Tank has marina bamboo plants to give babies a chance to to hide when I am not around to scoop them out. I also have a straining basket at the bottom to provide more cover for the fry. Please let me know if you have any questions. Links to everything I use below:

    I bought a trio AFR and a feAnw days later I saw the female was bigger and gravid spot. I bought fry grass and have plenty of hiding places. I got up today and she is thinner and no gravid spot. The breeder told me she could not have been pregnant but others I showed pic of said she was. Not one fry to be found if she did drop them. So bewildered. Any help appreciated.

    • @prolificbreedaquatics
      @prolificbreedaquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard to say... sometimes if stressed the female can just absorb the fry. Other times she can just gobble them all up

      @@prolificbreedaquatics I love your set up. I went and got a similiar white strainer like you have. I have two more males coming in this week since I had one male AFR die mysteriously.
      I will have three males and four females. I plan on moving them into my 45 gallon tank with community fish and hope a female will get pregnant so then I can move her.
      I know you had some tanks crash on you. Any other recommendations you can give me on how to make this work and keep the mother from eating the fry? Do they really go into the white strainer? Thanks so much,

    Please reply!
    What's the ratio on them?
    Can you get full red black eyes (normal version) from a pair with both albino parents?
    Albino should be rare to find, but all I can find are "albino version" of everything, when I'm looking for the "normal version".
    Genetically it's 1/4, but some people say, it's too true to the point of every single guppy is going albino now. What are your experience.

    I really would like to know what is the science behind the hang on the back filter working for you where the Sponge Filter failed

    • @prolificbreedaquatics
      @prolificbreedaquatics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I honestly believe that the pond matrix in the aqua clear is harboring more beneficial bacteria and the option to floss and remove detritus is keeping my water quality good until the weekly water change. I think the sponge filter needed larger water changes frequently? That’s just a guess on my part 😂. The theory is that albinos have weak genes and just sneezing in the tank will wipe them out 😂😂 I certainly believed this on my first few attempts lol.

    Sould I need to separate male and female Fry's until they fully grown up to get high quality by preventing from early breeding until they reach fully grown size. Or can I even get high quality (big tail and dorsal, big size body) when male and female guppies raised together from Fry's when they breed. What should I need to do in order to get big dorsols and tails. I want you to answer what you did with your albino red guppies frys
