The armored car robbery reminds me of the movie *Heat.* The part where they use a stopwatch, burned out car, and the cops keep talking about how good, trained and professional the crew is.
I'm not usually a betting person, but I'd bet every penny that those officers & drivers gleefully retell this story to their grandkids at every appropriate opportunity 😂 Hell they're probably still drinking on that experience with their buddies! 🤣

For some reason Michael Habicht, James Murphy and Michael McNaught's real names were used but the other three robbers had their names changed. They were actually James Melvin, Patrick Nee and Robert Joyce. As for sentence updates: •James Michael Murphy Jr.: released from prison in 2023. His release date was originally for 2050 but I assume he got out on compassionate release. •Michael Habicht: Released in 2007 after serving 15 years of a 19 year sentence •Michael McNaught: doesn't show up in inmate search, presumably released and sent back to Ireland as he was a supposed member of the IRA and illegally in the country •James Francis Melvin (name changed to Fred Rogan): Released in April 2000 after serving 8 years of a 10.5 year sentence •Robert Emmett Joyce (name changed to Carl Tucker): Released in April 2003 after only 11 years despite getting either 22 or 19 years (sources vary) •Patrick Nee (name changed to Steven Fitzpatrick): Released in April 2000 along with James Melvin after serving 8 years of a 10.5 year sentence I may have found the real name of the late informant called Steve Farrell but cannot confirm. I'm also positive Greg Hicks and Richie Harold were also aliases.

For experienced thieves who seemed to have their Robberys well planned they got caught by a rookie mistake with the stolen car and trusting someone who just happens to turn up with a plan that seems to good to be true. They should have just stuck with the crew they had. There is no shortage of lowlife crooks who don't like prison but are more than happy to help the police send others to prison.
9:39 “but Richard Harold couldn’t have pulled off the Weymouth job, he’s dead” lmaoooo sorry but the way he delivered that line was hilarious for some reason
Your comment made me think about a friend from my youth. All he wanted to be was a drug dealer. He's been in and out of prison for just that. He's living in Los Vegas.
Dont understand why that guy got 65 years when he seemed to only have a very minor role in the whole thing and he was only pegged in the first robbery AND the people that got 9 and 19 years very likely actually shot someone... kind of completely screwed up
It is the exact same as the town. The town is literally based on Boston armored car robberies and it's based off of anyone doing them and actually it's pretty much like all the things they did in the movie they picked right off of this episode even down to the duck taping the sleeves and pants and timing and the whole entire thing. I believe the town is really based off these guys wow
I don't know if you could call these "professional" robberies. If an occupational health and safety officer had seen how they were double handling those bags of cash and not using the correct lifting techniques they would have been shut down after the first job.

Greed and thinking they had the Power to do as they please, is why they kept going for more and more.
It's always "one last heist...". It's greed and of course, these people love the excitment of a robbery.
