55th St/Garfield Blvd: Driving in Southside Chicago: 4K: Streets of the Americas

Today we will be driving west bound on 55th Street from banks of South Shore in Hyde Park which turns into Garfield Boulevard from Washington Park up until to Western Avenue in Chicago's south side. Garfield Blvd is part of the Chicago's boulevard system which occupies as the S 55th block in the grid system. The trip will end at Central Ave in Garfield Ridge Neighborhood of Chicago's south west side. 55th Street will merge with Archer Ave at the intersection of Narangansett Ave. It resumes westbound in the city of McCook on the western banks of Chicago River South Branch and continues up until it merges with Maple Street in the city of Downers Grove.
Some key features along the route are Future venue for University of Chicago, University of Chicago Medical Center, Washington Park and Chicago Midway International Airport. The neighborhoods along the routes are Hyde Park, Washington Park, Englewood, West Englewood, Back of the Yards, Gage Park, West Elsdon and Garfield Ridge.
The length of the trip is 9.4 miles and approximately 29 minutes to complete it. Enjoy !!!!!!!!

It looks pretty drab filmed on a grey winter day, but it actually is a much nicer drive I've done many times from UChicago to Midway. There are a few blocks with boarded-up houses in the Washington Park-Englewood section, but for the most part is a pleasant stretch. You should have made the video on a sunny day in a different season. It gets 50-60 % better
