  • This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. When you want, you can! You have no excuses. Born paralysed, Ann Lund Wahlberg breaks boundaries to make a career out of what she loves the most: painting. She is also a happy mother.
Ann Lund Wahlberg suffers from spastic paralysis caused during birth; but her physical limitations have never prevented her from dreaming nor from making her projects come true. After being a social worker, she turned to her passion: painting. She is now an independent Artist, painting with her mouth.

Ann Lund began to paint and draw with her mouth as a youngster. In 1996, she seized her first opportunity to show her works to the public at an exhibition. Ann Lund likes to paint people, landscapes and flowers. She also creates abstract paintings full of symbolism, prefering watercolors and acrylics as well as charcoal and crayons. Her journey reminds us of the essential qualities one needs to break boundaries and outdo themselves despite life's hardships.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
