We love Falmouth - our son & daughter-in-law got married there on one of the beaches and we had their Rehearsal Dinner at The Flying Bridge! You did a beautiful job on this video and really showcased nicely this very charming town……and the roses are beach roses (Rosa rugosa)….gorgeous scent!
The roses are simply called beach roses. They do smell amazing. I'm glad you enjoyed Falmouth and had a chance to experience cars stopping so you can make a turn.
@@JenniferSparksSavoy Those are Rosa Rugosa. In late September you'll see the rose hip fruit they produce. You can buy rose hip jelly, a subtle and lovely Cape flavor.
Such a cute small town! The bakery looked good! Diners always have good food! It is awesome you get to do these trips with your mom! Thanks for the tour of this town!
Thank you 😊 I don’t get to visit her or see her much so taking her away works the best. Cape cod is beautiful. So glad you guys made out ok in Florida was so worried about you guys and all of my other friends down there. That was scary! 🙏
@JenniferSparksSavoy we woke up cold today. Supposedly, this cold weather will keep any storms away from us. There are 2 in the Caribbean right now. Lol, I don't mind the cold if the storms stay away. 😅
The roses are rugrosa They are impossible to kill and develop “runners” thus they spread. You might not want to plant them on your property. You can’t get rid of them. Loved your vid…reminds me when I would go to the Cape with my mom. Lovey memories
Great choice with Persey’s. I live closer to Plymouth and there’s one local to me. Once or twice a week visit for me. If you were there in July or August, you’d find it totally different. No empty streets or parking like this!
Great video! My parents live in nearby Mashpee and we love going to Persy's Place when we visit! Thanks for the other recommendations in Falmouth as well!
Lovely video of our beautiful seaside town. 🥰⛵️⚓️🌊 I was born and raised here for the past 49 years and I've seen the town evolve in many ways. The town of Falmouth here was named after the town of Falmouth in England by Bartholomew Gosnold, who was an English explorer, before the pilgrims arrived in 1620 in Plymouth. He also named Martha's Vineyard after his daughter and the beautiful vine-like bushes on the island. Also, Bartholomew Gosnold named the Elizabeth Islands after Queen Elizabeth I of England in 1602. The Elizabeth Islands are a town of their own, aptly named, Town of Gosnold. The first of the islands is named, Nonamesset, after the Wampanoag indian tribe that were natives here, as well as a few other of the Elizabeth Islands. Falmouth has the most miles of beach shoreline on Cape Cod. You can take the Island Queen from Falmouth Harbor across to Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard beginning in late May until October, or as you saw, the Steamship Authority out of Woods Hole. Parking in Woods Hole in the on-season can be almoat impossible, but you can always park in town at the Falmouth Crossing, and take the trolley right there, or if you like the Shining Sea Bikeway, you can park at Trunk River parking lot, or at the Locust Street parking lot and walk or ride your bike to Woods Hole; about 3.3 miles. Yes, those beautiful, fragrant roses are rosa rugosas, and have a heavenly scent along with the salt air from the ocean.🌹 I wish i could have shown you around more. As a native of Falmouth, I know a lot about the rich history and landscape here. Nobska Lighthouse is a treasure to behold. 🥰⛵️ ⚓️ 🌊 PS: There's a cute movie titled, A Cape Cod Christmas, that was filmed here a few years ago with scenes from Main Street Falmouth. 🌊⛵️⚓️😜 🎬 Katharine Lee Bates was born here and she wrote the words to, American the Beautiful. Her statue was right at the Falmouth Public Library on Main Street, and the home she was born in is by the Village Green. ⛪️ Albert Einstein's son, Hans, is buried here in the Woods Hole Cemetery on Church Street. Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard is home to the nation's oldest carousel; the Flying Horses Carousel. And, well, Carly Simon lives on the island, too. 😃🎸🎶
@JenniferSparksSavoy you're so welcome. I hope you and your mom enjoyed your stay here. Actually, you came at the best time in May, before the summer crazies get here. 😂 ⛵️⚓️September is beautiful, too. 🥰
Thank you! I have a video coming in the future about hotels in Yarmouth that may interest you. I’m filming Atlantic City right now so it’s on the “to do” list lol
I love Falmouth! Used to go to Cape Cod every year and stay in Falmouth. Lovely video.

Thank you for this informative video. I have to see if they have mini golf ⛳️ and hard ice cream 🍨
Thank you 😊 beautiful town!
Absolutely beautiful. Those wild roses look kind of like Cherokee roses, but I don't think they are because the leaves look different.
They smell heavenly! 🌹
Happy belated birthday - if you return, would love to see a non time share recommendation this looks beautiful!

A team from Woods Hole combined with a French team discovered the remains of the Titanic. I think it was in 1985. Bob Ballard was the American.
You can be my historian! Lol
The most beautiful town in America.
