I've been traveling to Hungary for many years to teach Filipino martial arts, and got to see some of their traditional arts over the years. It's some really interesting stuff. PS. My fiends there also like the CS axehead cane as it resembles their shepherd's axe/cane.

@@chroma6947 Spears can go through most armor and definitely through the "chinks" halberds, glaives and other poelarms also had some form of hooks to pull a knight off of a horse, once on the ground thats it, he's dead no matter how much armor he's wearing, the only thing saving him might be if he is a valuable noble that can be ransomed, that or they want his armor relatively undamaged so they could sell or ransom that as well, in which case they will pin him to the ground and drive a knife through a gap in his throat armor or his visor, this is also why you saw a lot of spears, swords and knives being jabbed into a downed knights rear end on the bayeux tapestry, it was relatively unarmored compared to the rest of his body.

This is not true! Already in the 8th-10th centuries, the Hungarians used edged sabers when fighting from horseback. The saber took shape until the 16th century, while the messers appeared on German soil at the end of the 14th century. The krieg messes will come later! A messer is a huge knife, mostly with a straight blade, less often with a slightly curved blade. A saber is a completely different weapon.

I absolutely adore all of them, and they are by far my favorite knives. I wish the mini leatherneck had better steel though. D2, or sk5, or vg10, or even something like lionsteel. The 8cr13mov it comes with is absolute shit steel, and won't hold a edge to save its life. It's rather insulting to its big bro counterpart, although I still wear one as a neck knife everyday. I Reilly like it, just wish it was made better, and for serious use. Mabe a steel buttcap too. Pinned and welded. But I can dream.
