WPS stands for Wi-Fi Protected Setup, which is a wireless network security standard. My understanding is that when the WPS button if pressed, beware, because if you live in an apartment complex for example, your neighbor's next door Wi-Fi- device can easily gain access to your network as well, if the right timing and opportunity were to present itself. That WPS is to protect your system from intruders. I agree, HP is the worst with regard to customer assistance, but beware of the WPS or read up on it at least. I do agree though, HP is the worst for customer service, just awful...

I was about to throw it to the garbage when I incountered your short video - and after few minutes it worked! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing that so crucial tip. you've done better than HP themselves.

The ink tank system appears to be much better than the cartridge system th-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 and a lot cheaper to run. The machine was easy to set up. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.
It worked! I have a HP DeskJet 4100. I followed your directions however I had to press sinc on my NetGear59 and bravo - it worked! Thank you so much for all your help! ❤

I just googled that question and you go the your router's website and you have the WPS there. Type your router's IP address into your browser and you should find what you need......hopefully..I haven't tried it yet,

This worked for me in 2024 for my Deskjet 2546R. I do recommend bringing the printer closer to the router. After it worked I put it back in my bedroom and it still worked. I was so close to throwing this printer out. I have had it since 2015.

What you're saying is simple, and I appreciate it, but it's not working for my printer. Ever since I got fiber optic, I haven't been able to use the printer wifi. So discouraging!
I actually had to go into the router and add a Static IP with the printers MAC address for your WPS procedure to work. Just pressing the Wifi on the printer and the WPS on the router would no work. Even pressing the Wifi and X cancel for 3 seconds to reset the printer Wifi would not work.I then had to go into Settings Devices on Windows 11 to add the printer.
Good video. HP Laserjet Pro M404dw On mine, you have to get a certain menu up on the printer, and then do that... but its not very intuitive. Anyway... thanks.
spent 2 1/2 days trying to get an hp9125e working, with hp and best buy geek squad. still not working. don't buy an hp anything! i am taking it back. a plastic cheaply made clunky piece of junk. paper mismatches. envelop issues. heavy payer feeding issues. offline issues. even the turn off button doesn't work. a pile of poop would work better.

I was excited until I realized my router doesn't have a WPS button.
No wps button so this is no help for wireless routers an no wps
I unplugged my router and plugged it back in. That worked.
