I'm a jag and I'm trying not to be bias but, as harsh as it may seem because the kid was just a bit clumsy more than anything, he has clearly stopped Fitzy running through on goal. Red card I'm afraid.
It's a clumsy challenge and the thistle player gets there first but they are both running at pace and going for the ball and the thistle player knowing how tight it is doesn't really maintain control but does a dink and chase to swivel back past the defender who is already committed...its a yellow, but that's all...the problem with VAR (again) is its increasingly being used in slo-mo to make judgments about real-time play situations which are not straightforward and should stay as referee's call.
