Mate, I just get one long dowel rod, the thickness of a AA Battery (or a AAA Battery ... you can do the same). Then I cut them up into the lengths of the AA Battery. If you have a 3 port ornament to power up with USB, then you put in metal screws at each end of TWO dowel cutouts and screw in one piece of cable to each end. On the THIRD dowel cutout, you add the USB cable. The USB cable needs to be stripped back a few centimetres ... cut out the Green and White cable, then screw the Red and Black cable into your third Dowel at either end. That's it. You're done. Just place them into your ornament and ... presto ... it all lights up.
@@TaylorSoloaiJR sorry let me explain I have 7 separate lights each one has 2 batteries and an on/off and I would like to get to the situation of having just one on/off by combining all 7 ?
I would also like to know this! My mother has 3 strings of novelty lights exactly like the one from the video and she likes to decorate a shelf with them. I could transform them all to 3 USB operated strings, but is it possible to connect the 3 strands into one string with one USB connection?
Do you need to keep the battery case? Why not just cut the cord and connect the wires directly (with resistor)? Are you keeping the battery case around just for the on/off switch?
I did something similar with a wall led light. I just cut the cords completely though, so in order to turn it off, I need to unplug it, which isn't really a problem. How though, do I dimm it and control the brightness???
Something like this should work s.shopee.ph/9f2O1zZM8q (5-28V DC-DC Motor Speed Controller LED module dimmer LED light dimmer LED dimmer) I have used it to dim my DC led lights.
Can I take the 12 volt plug off my contouring light strip and replace it with a USB? Because I only have one 12 volt used for something else. So id like to plug it into my USB port
Tried it and did it step by step with Pausing and doing it exactly as you were doing it. And result looked just like yours, but it did not work. Even Watched the video 5-6 times before I even started. All I got was a messed up USB cord and lights I can't use now 😢
Is there a way to get rid of the ridiculous, ugly, useless battery box ? batteries cost an arm. Rechargeable batteries are a pain in the butt. The box is in the way, it s annoying. I want to connect my led neon sign directly in my computer or a socket wall like a cell mouse keyboard lamp etc....
I thought about that too. I think the purpose is to still be able to use the on/off switch. I am confused about the use of a power bank that seems to have a battery in it.

how many ohm resistors do I need, to power the 10 wire LED. previously used 3pcs LR44 batteries
Nice & simple, to the point!
Thanks man for sharing your a Genius!!!!...
Hey man, But how would you convert an ac plug to some battery powered ones?
Great instructions is there a way to combine a number of lights to reduce the number you have to switch on seperately please?
I'm sorry, I don't really understand the question.

@@sharkofjoy I hope to successfully complete my project this weekend if it works I will let you know what I did !

What about 3 battery fairy lights box?
Sure, just use a resistor with a higher value.
OMG WAS THINKING TO DO THIS AND STUMBLE ON YOUR VIDEO.
WAS THINKING THERE IS A WAY RATHER THAT BUY BATTERY ALL THE TIME
I'm glad it was helpful
Thank you so much!

It's up to you if you want to keep it and yes I'm keeping it for the switch
@ ok thanks for making this
Awesome - how about to also add add a wifi modul to control via phone?
You could, just need to find a good one to pair with it
Could you post a link to the exact resistor that you used? I'm not sure where to get one, thanks
I didn't buy it online, I salvaged it from a broken TV.
What are the colors? Red, red, black, gold, silver?
Hi, can you do a Zealot s32 5 watts speaker upgrade?
Wish I could but I don't have it anymore, sorry.
Thank you
Can i just plug this to the wall instead of a powerbank?
Yes, anything that can output 5v, phone chargers will work.

I have used it to dim my DC led lights.
how to test without soldering first...n test if my cable work....can i just put the wire +/ to the light +/-?
Yes, you can
hi! may i know the specs of the resistor? tia
20 ohms
Can I plug the wired USB CORD to a USB to AC adapter and plug it in yo any 12v outlet?
If you want to use a 12v power source, you just need to change the resistor to a higher value.
Have you done this with a string that uses 1.5V?
I haven't but you can do the same thing by using the same method but different resistor value.
How would I know the resistor value?
Using the color code chart and matching it with the colors on the resistor or using a multimeter.
I dont have resistor ,can i do it without it ?
You'll end up burning the lights if you don't use it.
Can I take the 12 volt plug off my contouring light strip and replace it with a USB? Because I only have one 12 volt used for something else. So id like to plug it into my USB port
Since USB ports can only provide an output of 5V, they do not supply enough power for the lights.
Gow can i do this but back wards? From usb to batteries
What kind of batteries?
Hello, do I need a resitor even I'll be using a powerbank as the power supply?
If you have the same one as the one in this video, then yes, you need it.
Otherwise, the lights will get burnt.
@@TaylorSoloaiJR thank you!
Hello please how can I convert a plug to the one that uses batteries
Are you referring to a USB?
What about flat 2 battery fairy light ?
Are you talking about the button cell battery?
Is is possible to have both Battery and USB at the same time?
Yes but you will need an additional board.
Hey dude, can you do a Christmas light next? 😆 i mean can you convert AC plug to USB? (if that’s possible)
I'll try and see if I can find some that I can convert

Hi how can i convert ac plug to battery
you have to rewire it, that's going to be a lot of work.
hi, can you do a solar powered led to usb? is it possible?
Yes it's possible. I'll try and see if I can do it soon.
@@TaylorSoloaiJR i hope you can do one 😁 looking forward

Just connect the lights straight in series with the correct resistor to a USB wire.
I thought about that too. I think the purpose is to still be able to use the on/off switch. I am confused about the use of a power bank that seems to have a battery in it.
Powerbank with 18650 battery inside was just used to test it and prove that it works with any 5v power source.
Can you cut those lights?
You can
