Excellence, as always! @7:05 May I offer a small correction? The group name of "The Mighty Nein" is actually a twofold meta-referrence to the fact that all of the players were always rolling "9"s for their skill checks... It happened sooo damn often... and being as a 9 is like, such a high-end-of-low roll (most simple skill check DC's will be auto set to 10 by a majority of DM's) that it became a frustrating and hilarious way to embrace the chaos early on. Some had to do with player character stats being so low at levels 2-4, more often had to do with the players just having bad dice luck. Then there was also the pall of losing the Golden Snitch, which was a whole other business. So, Mighty Nein really was a way of the group embracing the chaotic hilarity of those "shitty" dice rolls, more so than the character group saying "no" to various opportunities being presented. But also yes, the "Nein" part of the spelling was simply because it was Caleb presenting the name, and speaking it in Zemnian.
Hi there! I'm so excited for a new video in your docuseries which I've been following from the beginning. These recaps always make me emotional. Just one thing I'd like to point out: the name Mighty Nein was not related to the group saying "no" to things (which I don't think is true at all) but to them rolling 9's a lot in those first episodes, to which they often reacted shouting, "Nein!". It may be a small detail but it struck me as odd that you got that bit wrong, especially since the image of a d20 showing a 9 is often present in their merchandise, etc.
Gosh, what I wouldn't give to go back and relive campaign 2 all over again fresh. I wholeheartedly believe it is some of the best media ever released. I honestly wish that in another life the situation with Brian Foster didn't go so horribly. Certainly and foremost so that Ashley didn't have to go through it all, but also because I really thought he was an incredible talkshow host. Talks really drove Critical Role home for me, and was a great way to experience the cast in a more relaxed space just one on one. Miss the good ol' days so much :,)
I absolutely loved this video. You did a beyond( now I have the D&D Beyond theme in my head) awesome job. Your enthusiasm shows through so much. I was in teas of joy. Keep up the quality of work I love to call "awesomesause".
My grandson has been singing the CR theme songs since he was just barely 2. He's a little over 3 now. Lol he even hims the music during breaks AND the theme of the cartoon. Lol hes very drawn to their music. Ive even caught jim himming the background music during episodes.
Another awesome episode! It always blows me away to learn new things about the incredible history of Critical Role, the inspiring and talented cast, and looking back on the campaigns. Please, please, please, keep up the great work.
Yes! I was actually going to make a post, it is on its way! I just Graduated College this week and have had my plate FULL, but things have opened up and you can expect another episode soon!
Love this. Really cool to see this all put together like this. Getting to relive a section of my life. Kind of wild how long I've been watching these nutter butters ❤
First hanbooker helper turning into hamburger helper slid as a fun little jab. Second... Not so much. But with so much to cover and record, mistakes are to be expected. Awesome video once again!
Absolutely adore this series! Can't wait for the next one. Small correction for this episode. Alhambra is not a suburb of Los Angeles, but its own city near LA. It has existed as a city since 1903 😊 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alhambra,_California

don't apologize for taking your time, you are doing a very specific dive and making sure you are correct. That is more important.
The character sheet for baby gets me every time. Seriously the cutest thing ever.
Fantastic video!! It blows me away how much CR did in 2018. And they had still their full time voice acting/directing and producing careers!! Wow...
I really hope that anyone involved with CR sees this. Its clear you put a lot of effort and love into this video. Keep up the amazing work
I know im late to this.... but i need more. Just more Critical Role
Love this video. Thanks for being respectful. I became a critter during C2, around lvl 5.

Danke!
To me this was the golden age of critical role. Great Docu series !
I love that this came out on their M9 anniversary when it started.

Ooo finally! I’m glad you’re back!!
Cant wait for the rest of this series. Take your time
Thank you so much for this comment, I’m always stressed about finishing it, so it’s nice to have support regardless!
@@JRCollections Rather have you take the time you need, than not have your product ;)
Well done JR. Viewing with interest. Don't worry about the production rate. Quality > quantity, and life needs things to live :)
About to sit and watch this! Looking forward to it
Dont forget the video of the making of their Campaign 2 themesong.
Mighty nein is unmatched it’s the best campaign they have done and idk if they can ever top it
Great stuff! When is chapter 4?

Any update on chapter 4?

Brilliant video, really enjoyed it and appreciate the work you put into it. I'm excited for more
HOLY SHIT LETS GO! excited to watch it later

I really wish between the sheets and talks machina was still available. That was some of my favorite content. Pullout King!!!
It is really tragic, but I understand where they are coming from, just a sad situation
@@JRCollections yeah... Sucks balls. But still, that was great content. I'm sure they would keep it available if they could.
Great work btw! I forget about your doc series then it comes back and makes my day!
Thank you so much for your fantastic series! I've been watching CR only since 2020, so cool to know how they started and were growing :)
Wow, great content! I had no idea CR had done so much!
It’s always a good day when you upload ❤❤❤
I always took the group's name Mighty Nein -- as a reference to sub-par dice rolls . . a 9 or lower, nein/no as the response to a skill check
yes, I think this was a detail I overlooked and will be corrected in the final rendition!
What is the video around 1:25 from? Here Ithought for sure that I had seen dang near every video the CR cast had been in!

Awesome video once again!
I wish i could get into the Mighty Nien. I keep trying but it hasn't clicked.
🎉
Love the work. One tiny correction the name Mighty Nien was a running gag. As the cast couldn't roll above a 9 for the first shows
You are totally right! They did roll a lot of low numbers during that time, I will remember to correct that in the final!
Hamburgler helper 🍔🍔🍔
I wiah they would being back HH and Narrative Telephone.
NEELA, not NEyela. Its an E sound, not an I sound. All the love but one cant listen to people saying the name a thousand times and get it wrong.
I love how active they were in 2018. Compared to past two years...
