    I will say that the inflection in the guy’s voice that’s narrating the video is very conscending and misleading about the stats of some of the lower ranked states. I’ve spent quite of bit of time visiting rural Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas and they are all fine. While they aren’t as ultra modern as some of the higher ranked states on the list, they aren’t a 3rd world country like he seems to think they are

    • @Reindurr417
      @Reindurr417 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I would like to add that just because a state has a lower income average doesn’t mean people are failing to survive. Most of the states in the Southeast or Midwest are cheaper than the West or Northeast

      Well some states have to be at the bottom of the list. I don’t think he ever portrayed them as being akin to the third world, he just portrayed them as being the poorest in the US, which is true.

    • @emobx02
      @emobx02 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@michaeltnk1135 His tone and the way he delivers the very limited amount of information with little to no context (which is just the nature of the video, I understand that) definitely does more than just portray them as being the poorest in the US, which is a fact I don't think anyone is disputing. He does it in a snarky way for entertainment value, sure, but people can and, in my opinion, should provide counter-context where appropriate as this commenter did, particularly on reaction videos where people are seeking more nuanced takes than the original video provides, which is little to none at all. Such is the way of the internet.

      @@Reindurr417 I was thinking the same thing! If a state has an average income two times that of another state BUT prices are three times higher, then it's actually worse. Of course, he gets to rank the states by various issues that are important to HIM, but I really had to question his methods!

    He seems to really dislike the South. I live in Michigan and it’s simply beautiful here. Only complaints I have, the winter can be pretty miserable and our state government is pretty damn corrupt. The UP is absolutely gorgeous and we have so many beautiful beaches all around the state. I would highly recommend visiting Grand Haven, Saugatuck, Ludington, Traverse City, Mackinaw City and the Island, Sleeping Bear Dunes and all the surrounding area. Honestly, just come to Michigan and visit all the cities around the coastline 😂

    Yes, I will admit that Ohio is pretty bad. It really does not have much going for it. I have lived in Dayton, OH since 1988, and I have come to the conclusion that Ohio is a black hole, when people come here they get stuck. The surrounding states are like the event horizon, it takes a bit of work, but you can get out. I thought I had broken free when I joined the army, but somehow it sucked me back in. When my father told my mother that he was going to retire from the air force back in '94, she said only one thing to him, "I never thought I would die in Ohio" (no one in my family is from here).

    I'll put it to you like this...like everywhere else in the world no one place/state is 100% bad. They're going to be good and bad areas/locations throughout each state. Definitely do your own research before you travel / live anywhere. I think if this rating system was done now (in 2023) there would be a definite change in the states order. 🌎🌍🌏🙂

    Video is very deceiving. Indiana is very flat once you get south of Fort Wayne. But southern Indiana is pretty with many hills and beauty. Northern Indiana is not completely flat. And the smog it shows is Gary Indiana. NW corner just outside of the Hammond/Chicago cities. The smog is not the issues throughout most of the state.

    These list are subjective and very often used to promote the author's agenda. I have seen multiple lists supposedly comprised off the very same information and the states are not the same or at least not in the same order. Some say Chicago is the most dangerous, others say St. Louis, some say Memphis and others say either New Orleans or Los Angeles. What they don't mention are the people, the attitudes, the scenery, and the weather. Sorry. But while I love visiting other states, I'll never live outside the south. I love the food, the scenery, the people, the fact that I can drive to the beach, the mountains, the river, or a large city all in a day or under.

      I will say, living in St. Charles County Missouri and having family fro the Chicago-land area
      Yes, Chicago has a lot of violent crime. However, it is mostly gang violence. As long as you stay away from east/west Garfield or a lot of the Southside, it’s actually not that bad. Although, I’m not a fan of how the city is run… but that’s a whole other conversation
      St. Louis, on the other hand, actually just sucks. I mean you go outside of the Busch Stadium/ Enterprise Center/ Arch areas and you’re by yourself, lets just say bad stuff can happen. STL also has a REALLY bad human trafficking problem. And has way more crime than Chicago.
      Ultimately I totally understand both sides. But just live in the suburb outside either of the cities and you’re golden. Seriously those suburbs are amazing
      But, then again… 🐻 ⬇️ and Go Cubs Go

    The guy spends a full minute talking about each state until Kansas and then just shows driving down a highway in western Kansas. There's so much more to the state and probably ranks higher because of lower poverty, lower cost of living and decent wages.

    I was born in Kentucky ,spent most of my childhood in Alabama and have now lived on a small island about 35 miles from Manhattan for over 50 years .I commuted to work in Manhattan for about 40 years ( over 3 hours every day ) .Sure , you can BUY just about everything want in New York except peace of mind ,honest government,and escape from too many people , IF you have lots of money .Like every other big city in the USA that has been run by democrat/socialist/communist crooked politicians for years , people are leaving here in droves to emigrate to states like Florida , Texas , Tennessee , Georgia , the Carolinas ,and Alabama because they are affordable and life is still possible there .For example ,my house in NY is worth about a million dollars and my property taxes on it are about $ 15,000 per year . In Alabama I can buy a house which is roughly equal for about $250,000 with property taxes of about $1,000 per year and can move around without fighting bumper to bumper traffic anywhere I go .Quality of life is a very subjective issue and the narrator of this video with his EXTREMELY annoying voice has very obviously been brainwashed by all the mass media hype and lies .
