Hakim and Holt running down the sidelines will forever be a MNF highlight ...
True sounded like the roof was gonna cave in the fans were so hyped
Kurt Warner plays like the ultimate Madden QB.
He is running the no huddle and still throwing the ball with a lead in the 4th quarter after nearly getting pick sixed twice.
What a gunslinger
As someone who plays Madden I can attest to that.
Kurt has the same stat line as I do in madden
He was a higher the risk higher the reward type qb the rams offense in general was explosive they could score in like 5-7 plays
10:00 - My best memory of this game. Those two Rams chatting it up with each other as they sprint unchallenged to the end zone.
Rod Smith was a baller, hope he makes the HOF someday
Still don’t know how he wasn’t drafted such a tragedy for such a great athlete he 100% should be a hall of famer
Absolutely! Him and McCaffrey were a monster duo!
His stats look really good 11k yards 2 sbs he had longevity for sure he might get in.
You got the wrong Smith, you meant Jimmy Smith making the HOF one day.
@@lucyloo2228 how many super bowl rings does Jimmy have?
6:01 "Schlereth has been scoped more than a redneck abducted by aliens" 🤣 Dennis Miller was nuts
The 2000 rams offense was ridiculously good. The first team to ever gain 7,000 yards in a season. It's also worth noting that their defense was the worst in the league, giving up 471 points. The talent was there. However, turnovers would kill St. Louis, just like in 2001
For Three years the Rams had the most explosive and high scoring offense the NFL had ever seen. Also had a really underrated defense and were on their way to becoming a dynasty. Then they faced a little known sixth round draft pick in 2001 and now they’re back in LA.
Holt and Hakim running side by side was hilarious
I remember this game very well. Such a great classic game !
Man the Rams were running the spread/singleback style way before the rest of the league caught on.
Truly an NFL Throwback when my Broncos were good
😂😂😭
I’m a lifelong Broncos fan, this will my 36th year as a fan. The 2000 season, and the previous disastrous 1999 season, was kind of the beginning of long-term mediocrity for the Broncos. The glory years the mid-to-late 90s were gone, as were the incredibly solid years of the 80s. They of course made the AFC Championship during the ‘05-‘06 season, but they really weren’t “good” again until Peyton came along in 2012.
@@barrybach3685 i remember, this is my 29th year. Jake plummer was a real savior that can't be matched these past few years.
@@kodielicious I LOVED “The Snake”. I was actually at his first official game as a Bronco in the 2003 opener at Cincinnati. The Broncos won that game 30-10. Don’t get me wrong, Plummer is in my top 5 fav Broncos QBs of all-time, but I wouldn’t personally call him a savior. They definitely improved with him, but he only won 1 playoff game during his time there which was of course the game when they handed Brady his first career playoff L.
Here’s to hoping that Payton can get things turned around!! Go Broncos!! 💙🧡💙🧡
@@barrybach3685 definitely seen more points with Payton so far, here's to hoping!
Very memorable game. These two had combined to win the prior 3 super bowls. The rams had all the momentum in the world. This was a shootout for the ages.
Also, the beginning of the Dennis Miller era of MNF. I'm convinced I'm the only person in America who enjoyed his work
Good choice. One of the best season openers for consumers of offense. Little did we know the Rams defense would be hideous in 2000. Broncos had a nice season, and Shanahan did a good job rebounding after the 1999 injury-plagued/FA/Elway retiring season.
Somehow even hideous feels like an understatement for that defense haha
@@NFLVault Agreed :)
Surprisingly, the Rams defense was actually very good the season before and the season after. Just not in 2000.
I never felt like the Rams defense was ever good during that era. the only reason they seem to be a great defense was because they always had to play against teams who were forced to pass the ball to overcome the insurmountable leads
@@NFLVaultwhat's up? When you guys gonna listen to my channel ideas lol I'm only the biggest fan on the friggin channel lmao
Man, Marshall Faulk was so good
Especially lining up in the slot
Seeing London fletcher make a big play warmed my soul loved the way he played
Fletch needs to be in the hall of fame
@@jruth77I think he will be, out of all the free agents the then Washington redskins signed he was by far the most productive
@@keegs2002 deangelo hall and santana moss pretty solid as well but I agree
@@seelzonwheelz69 ohhh true forgot about them completely agree. I actually remember Santana more as a redskin than as a Jet
Soooo the Rams fans were referred to as the “12th man” before the Seahawks👀👀
Both of those teams took that from Texas A&m
The 2000 Rams defense turned out to be a hot mess, the offense was off the charts though. Both Kurt Warner and Trent Green played awesome, Marshall Faulk became MVP, Bruce and Holt did their usual dominant thing.
At a time when myself and many other Broncos fans thought Denver that Brian Griese was going to be the real deal. He had a solid season that year and ended with him the second highest TD to INT ration at the time in NFL history, trailing only Steve DeBerg from 1990. Of course both of those records have been obliterated by the modern era, but 19 to picks to only 4 picks stirred up a lot of buzz back then! Had you asked me in 2000 who would’ve had the better pro career, Brian Griese or the other Michigan QB who had just been drafted by the Patriots, I would’ve said Griese all day. I thought he’d be a natural leader and be the Broncos starting QB for the next 15 years. His next 2 seasons couldn’t have been more of a disaster. Oh, and that other QB from Michigan does hold the current record for highest TD to lowest INT ratio! I have nothing but love and respect for Brady though!
All I remember about Brian Griese as a kid was that he was injured a lot a threw a bunch of interceptions lol
Ya he got paid hurt his shoulder and fell apart for some reason ...
1 OF THE GREAT NFL 🏈 MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAMES EVER .. FEATURING 'THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF' ..
As a Denver fan, I have always enjoyed watching Kurt Warner!
God i miss this type of NFL. Marshall Faulk is the reason i became a Rams fan. That crowd is amazing! That receiving corps was god tier
Horns Up!
Yeah, It takes me back. The St. Louis Rams Super Bowl 34 Champions against the Denver Broncos Classic!
Any game involving the GSOT, including this back and forth opener, is a terrific throwback.
One of the greatest teams to ever play. Greatest show on turf
One of the best MNF games in history
Early 2000s football was the best
It really was
Amen for real
1st year of the new Rams Uniforms, as you can see the Font style for the numbers was changed and streamlined the next year, they were still the No. 1 offense in the league but they ranked dead last on Defense, they were old and beat up, 2001 they Had 8 new starters on Defense one of them was Kim Herring, who was on the Ravens in 2000 the original no. 20
Faulk had that second gear like nobody's business! The way he would just take off was a thing of beauty!
I remember getting the All 22 of this game. My cousin and i must of watched this game 100 of times. Definitely broke the VHS tape 😂
The first MNF game of the 21st century
Wow war eagle 🦅 Auburn
I love watching Marshall Faulk highlights
Thanks a lot, NFL Throwback! Love watching these.
Request: Could you do Dolphins vs. Patriots 2008, Week 3? It's the game that kicked off the Wildcat offense fad.
Ended the regular season winning streak for the pats also, which, at that time, was an nfl record
@mariosnum1fan Yup! I believe it was a 21-win streak. Brady had been injured in Week 1 and would be out for the whole season, but it's pretty amazing seeing the Pats have no response to the Dolphins.
@@heyheyhey33351 I didn’t like the pats at that time, but I was PISSED the phins won the division and the pats missed the playoffs entirely that year. Pats should’ve won even without Brady. The next year they get Brady back and lose 1 more game. Go figure
@mariosnum1fan Did the Dolphins break the tie with the Week 3 win? If so, it shows how valuable the Wildcat offense was, even if defenses adjusted pretty quickly.
But yeah, even without Brady, the Pats had a solid season. Cassel was quite the anomaly.
@@heyheyhey33351 yes because they had the better divisional record. They swept the jets which was huge whereas the pats did not. AFC East had all teams in it at one point. Bills led at 5-1 at one point then collapsed at 7-9. Jets got Favre for just that year and were 8-3 leading looking like the best team in the afc before collapsing to 9-7. If they won that last game against the phins and New England lost, they would’ve won the division at 10-6. 2008 was a crazy nfl season for sure!
I remember this game. Great one.
Truly one of the best if not the best MNF games in NFL history
Almost could’ve called this the undrafted bowl. Rod smith, Warner, London fletcher all undrafted legends in their own respective regards. All 3 balled out in this one too
2000 St.Louis Rams would have broke every offensive record that season if Warner didn’t get hurt.
They also easily could have gone to the SB if Hakim hadn't muffed that punt. IMAGINE the 2000 Rams offense vs the 2000 Ravens defense.
There wasn’t a big fall off with Trent green
Agree with all of you. If the Rams did win against the Saints they would've had to go play in NY against the Giants since that would be 1vs6 seeds. Which they won big against them earlier that year & that was without Warner & Faulk. Theoretically the NFC championship could've been at MN against the Vikings which even though it was on the road the Rams also won big against them earlier that year & the Vikings then played in the Metrodome which I think the Rams could've handled. Plus the Vikings are choke artists in NFC championships lol
Arron Brooks beating them in playoffs lol
2000 rams offense might be the best ever. They were on pace to set league records that might still stand, if they didn't lose Kurt Warner for part of the season. They're still one of the top ten scoring teams all time.
the start of an epic season for Denver's WR duo of Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey (they both had 100+ catches in 2000)
I'm a giants fan but Rod Smith is my favorite wide receiver of all time. He caught everything
Jimmy Smith >
back when we thought Griese was going to be the worthy successor to Elway
Fun Fact: Steve Young was almost the starting QB for the 2000 Broncos but he decided to retire as a 49er instead of re-joining Coach Shanahan (his OC in SF from 1992-1994) in Denver
After elway donkies stink
@@michaelsamuel9841lmao they were extremely competitive in the 2000s and much of the 2010s
I remember this game for sure. Griese looked damn good too. What a great game!
I hope that Monday Night Football returns to ABC
I remember when MNF had marque matchups and so many memorable games
These were some great games here in St. Louis. I Rooted for them even tho I'm a die-hard Steelers fan.
The random season of Dennis Miller being on the Monday night football broadcast. Who’s genius idea was that? 😂
I remember this on Labor Day night the matchup of the last two super bowl champions
I Love You So Much NFL Throwback Great Video 📸 And Keep Up The Good Work.
7:12 & 10:00 plays itched in my memory of this team. Great memories!
Purely an Offensive game! Horns up”
It was cool the see Bruce & Akeem running 🏃♂️ like they was in a track meet together!!! The rams was a high octane offense!!!
That McCaffrey bloodline is strong with the force
What a great game
The prevent defense worked there at the end. Where are the geniuses who say it prevents teams from winning?
Wild football.
These Rams jerseys and the OGs are so much better than the current ones. Not sure what the org is thinking tbh
Dennis Miller was a vibe
Nice to hear something from back when Al Michaels was still alive.
What a game!
I was at the game! Those were some fun years.
This has to be one of the rare games in history where the two teams are the combined winners of the three previous Super Bowls.
Spectacular opener for MNF...Rams were unbelievably aggressive on offense...not just easy routes.
MNF,the Dennis Miller years.
2000 Rams, one team that could have won a Superbowl without any defense.
Maravilloso
And people say stl didn’t love the rams smh
St Louis didn’t keep its promises
This was the last game the NFL played on Labor Day and the last time the season started on Labor Day Weekend
The smash mouth era miss these days !!!
I went to this game when I was 8. My dad and grandpa had season tickets from 1995-2002. I will always remember those good old days.
The Greatest Show on Turf and 2000 Rams smashed all kinds of records anyway. But I still think if Warner and Faulk had never been injured the Rams would've set the league's passing and scoring records on a level no one could've reached.
Ayyy, the first Dennis Miller game!
Faulk is a beast out there
The Dome in St. Louis was the loudest in the NFL. Real Talk.
These were the best Rams uniforms
Disagree. 99 was better
❤️❤️❤️
I was at this game! It was past my bedtime on a Monday but my old man still let me go 😂
Monday night football should have stayed on abc
When football was football 💪🏽
Love some Al Michaels MNF broadcasts
Must have been fun for Dan Fouts to be in the booth that night seeing the Air Coryell offense back under Martz
those rams uniforms hands down best ever
Those uniforms looked good with the gold pants when they started pairing it with dark pants it looked dull
Wrong. They are terrible. The 99 jerseys were light years better.
I remember this game for being insane and then the next was 9/11 and it was all forgotten. I think Eddie Mac broke his leg here too.
2000 Rams easily had the best offense (& special teams). Being a fan of them that I knew they were going score & score big (other than playing in Carolina later this season)
99 was better and 01
@@kevonsidek9737I agree that as a whole well rounded team that 99 and 01 were better & more balanced but this 2000 offense was beyond lethal. Their defense was just downright bad (thankfully they fixed it big time in the off-season)
Battle of last two Super Bowl champions
Many thought this would be a possible Super Bowl Preview
That 2000 Rams defense was really bad 31st run defense 32nd pass 32nd points allowed 450 points allowed
Points can be affected when the offense turns the ball over 30+ times. Warner had 18 INTs in 11 starts.
That PI on Dex McLeon at like 10:50 was a bad call 😂
The regular season debut of the ABC MNF team of Al Michaels, Dan Fouts, and Dennis Miller with Eric Dickerson and Melissa Stark on the sidelines
No more Boomer Esiason.
Faulk was a god best receiving back ever
i like all sports stars
The Rams under Mike Martz were the exact opposite of them under Dick Vermeil. Careless turnovers, wasting timeouts and poor clock management
This was interesting...............
🐏
As a 49er fan, i would like to thank Ed McCaffrey and his wife for their contribution to our success in 2022.
Back when football was great
I miss it
Proverbs 17:26
Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity.
The top two scoring offenses in the league in the 2000 season (Rams were #1, Broncos were #2)
Los Angeles Rams Against Denver Broncos Last Meeting In 1988 Thanks For Uploading
every offensive player on the 2000' Rams had 99 rating in Madden
I forgot the Dennis Miller era. Trying to be funny when ABC didn’t know what to do with him
These should be upscaled and sharpened before uploading...
All the rams game that year was like this lol they had to shoot it out with other teams cuz their defense was so bad and gave up so many points they literally had to outscore their opponents and their defense to win
Is the home crowd making too much noise it could the home team a timeout rule still in existence now?
