For anyone out there wondering if this guitar is as good as it seems, yes, yes it is. Had mine for a few months now and I love every single thing about it apart from the fact that I had to have a few high frets levelled initially. But you could spend twice as much on a guitar and still get unlucky with some high frets. And I have no doubt that if it said Fender on the headstock instead of Squier, it would indeed cost twice as much. Oh and btw, just roll back on the nicely tapered volume pot to get sweet clean tones.
Just thought you should know your review of this Guitar is one of the main reasons I purchased it and I can't tell you how happy I am that I did. This Guitar is beautiful and freaking awesome Thank you rock on
I got the same one the other day and I love it! I'm setting it up to my liking right now. Sounds and plays great. Me myself been playing almost 40 years and this i great for that Stern, Scofield, Robben Ford nice breakup tone. The clean is nice too. Very impressed cause I didn't want to spend a lot and got more than I expected. Kudos squier for upping your game!
I just picked one up used for 380. Amazing purchase. I used to have a showmaster super strat out of the custom shop. It had a tele neck of course and I lost it due to life circumstances and such. I missed this feel on the neck so bad. The tuners are amazing too! Great instrument for the mid range price level that punches FAR above its weight.
Bought one of these last week! Mine needs some fret leveling and the nut slots need some work too, but that's expected... Other than that, it's freaking great! One thing that wasn't mentioned in this video is that it cleans up incredibly well from the volume knob. It's much more usable than my Les Paul in that regard.
Was thinking of getting a cv tele and putting noiseless pickups in it but the way these pickups have a lot of high end and being humbuckers has 100% convinced me on this
I'm thining of picking one up. I need a fixed bridge guitar tuned to D standard, sometimes drop C to play in church and this might be right up my alley. Pickups seem a bit on the hot side.
Great stock guitar generally, even better as a modding platform. 12" radius, roasted maple, SH format with no pickguard, all great. I have the Pearl White finish, which is fantastic. The only real issue I have had (besides taste in pickups etc) is the intonation on the low string when using a 60 gauge string. There are definite limits in terms of how far you can adjust the intonation. With a 60 you have to go all the way back but the ferrule is too far forward and everything starts to bind up. I've switched mine out to a Babicz for this reason but the screw pattern on the Squiers is different from both the 3-screw and 4-screw Fender bridges so be prepared to drill new mounting screw holes if you change bridges. Also be very careful with screws and drills on roasted maple, e.g. drilling for different tuners or string trees. You need a really careful and slow approach to avoid cracking the headstock. The wood is hard and kind of brittle
I found intonating to be easier with graph tech saddles on a tele. Idk why. I didn't get them for that reason. But they seemed to allow for a greater range of saddle position for sufficient intonation as compared with the brass saddles, which had a very narrow range. Both were compensated. But I could seemingly position the saddles all the way up or back and the string would be in tune at the 12. The only thing I would change on this is the nu metal black hardware. It looks cheap and doesn't pop.
Glad to read that...as my first thought was 'ill grab one and put a babicz bridge in it' however, I dont really trust myself drilling holes, so maybe I will look for another model. Intonation is key for me!!
damn, Squier and Epiphone are both stepping up their game. they better. they've got all those smaller import guitars coming out that are cheaper and full of bang for your buck. good to see. this tele is right up my alley and it's on order. lol
@My TH-cam Yeah it does sound good but it's all amp and effects, my point is that it doesn't help anyone looking to buy the guitar what the pickups are like through a normal setup!
That rail humbucker is way to hot, even clean there is distortion. Just my opinion but this guitar is strictly rock and metal. To hot for anything else.
@@264boresteve 3 months old, but yeah. Rolling down the volume a bit cleans it up quite a bit. If you want classic Tele twang though this probably isn’t your bag. I’m loving it so far though.

I recently bought a $1600 Am Strat and it even had a couple of high spots on the upper frets. I love everything else on it, but come on FENDER!
Thanks I am thinking about getting one.

Great video!! Love a video that shows actual rock riffs. This guitar looks killer

380 used? They sell them at Thomann for 400 new (without shipping)
The Squier contemporaries are also for the professional guitarist live performances and recording
Great demo. I love how the rail pickup just sounds like it wants to go in clean. Sounds absolutely ferocious when it's driven.
So pleased more of these are reaching stores and buyers and more people are demoing the tones. I have one on order.
Me too in Pearl White!
@@YOSTINATOR yup! Best colour! (Though I might go for the gunmetal in a pinch)
I have one on order for my son and can't wait until it gets here. Ship soon Empire!
@@Tony99992000 he’s a lucky young man. I have one on order too, but only so I can stop borrowing my boys Mustang

Awesome video and review. I just boughr one and am on my way home with it in the back seat. So happy and can't wait to give it a bash
Okay, this video definitely convinced to pull the trigger one one of these

My son owns two way more expensive guitars (Fender and Ibanez) and this is still his favorite! Amazing sound and playability!
Picked up one used at Guitar Center for 279 plus tax. Not a nick or scratch. Set up perfectly.

There's nothing wrong with those pups man! They sound great clean and dirty!
Picked one up brand new for $250 on a cyber week sale. Been wanting one of these for a while, price was so right.
Sounds like a good one for slide guitar.... just bought one today...
Fantastic guitar! Plays like a high dollar fender for sure!
These are *beasts* of a guitar!
An excellent video and review. Axe sounds great. Thinking about buying one. This video helped me make the decision. Thanks for sharing.
Just ordered one, gunmetal Metallic
Got one of these (white) and it's absolutely amazing, it feels like it should cost way more than it does
does it reveal dirt and grime easily?
damn, that is killer overdriven tone on that guitar! you can't beat the price on these either. what a deal!
This is a beautiful guitar and sounds great.
I got my eye on the Pearl White model but they're all out of stock!

Finally a good demo of the tone of this guitar, have you seen that detuned mess of a video that Fender put out?
Daaaamn it’s pathetic

Great review, thanks!
I want the gun metal colour one.
My next purchase
If there's no Gaps with the rail pickup, is there Gaps in the neck pickup? I didn't hear any, but probably my old ears...
I want it!
Really nice
hey, is there any way i can purchase here in India?
Ask bhargavas music
does it sound like a Tele?
Nice
Should prob take the plastic off the pickup before demoing
Yeah plastic is know to interfere with magnets.
I seen that.
Tried to buy this from you but you were out of stock

I haven’t had my hands on one yet, but do you think a person could roll off the volume knob some and clean it up more?

This or Jaguar?
