Think if you start moving away from your ship, the inbounds will spawn... biggest issue that I've noticed is every time I step out of the pilot seat, the pips (weapons, engines, shields and grav drive) all reset to some wonky configuration that I keep forgetting to set back to my preference... Look forward to future vids!
Having the same issue, not sure what the problem is. I’m lvl 208 ships are not spawning anymore for some reason. They need to fix it, I loved doing this
It's really sad that whenever BGS send out updates, something else gets broken. They should have just left it alone coz the modders had already fixed most of what BGS have just updated! Also, where's the creation kit that was supposed to be issued in February?
That makes sense now. I was landing in random spots to farm some better weapons at POI's and I noticed that I didn't hear any "pop" for a ship landing. I wasn't trying to steal ships so I didn't think anything of it. I agree, I always liked to board and take some cool ships.
It added so much immersion with ships landing on planets and moons. Maybe they should have dialed it back a bit but to entirely remove it just seems strange.
Yeah I've noticed this too since the latest update. Also, since the update my companion has "lost" the upgraded weapon I gave them and also the ship power distribution bug is faaaaaar more annoying..like before it would randomly distribute say 2-3 points of power, now every time I do any sort of travel (surface to orbit, in system planet to planet etc) it keeps dumping around 10 points into my EM weapon system that I usually leave powered down untill I actually need them. Like how hard is it to remember how I distributed my power?!?!
I did notice the power thing, I also have to add power to grav drive every time as well, it was automatic before the fixes. I have not seen any Guardian(Starborn) ships land for a long time as well, even after fixes, but it now includes all ships, and when one does land, it's only to drop of some people and takes off right away. I uninstalled the game this morning, going to stay away from it for a few months, maybe by then they'll have it working properly.
I have a mod that keeps your ship power distribution the way you set it, but sometimes, when I land, it looks like the game changes everything. If I leave it until I'm in flight again though, it usually resets itself to my settings. If it wasn't for mods, I wouldn't have been able to finish my game as one of the missions was broken! You can also get a mod that stops the save game from marking up that you're using mods... which is perfect! :)
Creations keep breaking the sound, and certain ones break the game, and I keep loading in through the floor, and the world isn't loading in, no matter what save I use... It's getting frustrating, and I quit playing it after multiple attempts at trying to get Creations to work... Bethesda needs to fix this buggy mess...
I'm having the same issue with the ship spawns. The other new bug is my ship power levels are resetting every time I get in the ship. Super helpful when you have a ship bounty and your main weapon is at half power 👍🏻
My ship systems do the same, but if I leave them alone, they reset to the full levels once I'm in space again. It's something I now have to keep an eye on though.
Small addendum to your discovery: I always find an empty ship landing point some distance off from my own ship landing point. And they stay empty...these ghost ship landing points. I have not encountered another landing ship in the last 20 hours of playing....not even once. Also that ship power distribution bug is now completely running amok, everytime i jump it messes my power distribution in the worst way, like draining my shield and weapons completely of power when there are incoming enemies...
I found these as well - strange thing is, it appeared empty so I did not go to it but when I turned my back to head in another direction I heard a ship - don't you know one was taking off from the empty landing site!
@@jimmills9526 Interesting. I visited these sites....and actually waited some time close to them...even for more than an hour...nothing happening. Before this Update i had a similar strange thing: Starborn Guardian IVs everywhere landing. But no Starborns around it. And i could enter these ships and commandeer them. I researched and it had something to do with quicktravelling from a earlier NPC ship i would have had to either leave or commandeer (which i never had) and now i see Starborn ships sometimes landing...but nowhere to be found...not even where the ship landing site should pop up. Bethesda seriously fragged this game up. They shouldn't have released such a mess. The Fallout 4-Engine already was really faulty...to use it again in Starfield without real overhaul was purely a dumb move...and not one that should have ended in an expensive AAA-Game.
Aw, man, that power distribution bug must be maddening! There's a mod you could get that would stop it doing that (on Nexus) and also one for stopping the game taking achievements from your modded game. They work really well.
This doesn't seem to me to be a bug, but a bug FIX. It seems more like they spoiled an exploit that you were using. To call this a bug implies that the intention was for players to be able to easily and quickly farm ships for money. And that doesn't sound correct. I defintely still see ships land all the time, but just not as regularly as they used to (I think THAT was the bug, that ship landings were too frequent and predictable).
Not sure I agree for a few reasons. I liked being able to access the mannequin without a lockpick. But it is a flaw. One I enjoyed and hurt no one so it needed to be fixed. Now you have a mechanic of the game. In this case ship stealing being 'fixed' so it can't happen. I suppose entertainment is a bug that needs to be removed as well?
@@danamoore1788This kind of thing is a hallmark of games like this and No Mans Sky. Players find ways to exploit the games to make money quicker, and devs take that away. Then fans find another way and then devs do the same. It’s not taking away entertainment, it’s just part of the game. Players are going to find another way to do this. He’s going to find another planet that lets him do this same thing, and then devs will patch. Then he’s going to have to do it again.
What's the difference in stealing a vessel on a planet or one in space, you either have to kill a crew or beat the vessel down to board it in space and sometimes you still have to kill the crew once boarded in space - a steal is a steal. Why prevent one (on a planet) but not the other (in space) - either leave both or stop both - it don't make sense.
Not only have I not had any random ships landing on planet's after the latest update, I have only found one ship already on a planet when I landed, and when I got to with In a couple of yards of the ship it disappeared but if I take out my scanner it tells me its still there. Its very annoying when they release an update for a game to improve it but instead make it worse. So now I have to wait nearly six weeks for another update to fix the many problem's the the last update has caused. My love for this game really is been tested.
I have noticed this. AND if you go away from your ship in a random direction, you may or may not hear the entry boom, but I have seen ships landing while well away from my ship. AND, if the POI has a landing pad, they will land on the pad.
Okay, still the same issue, but if you fast travel t Back to a previous landing site that you commandeered a ship. Then ft to the ship landing area, there may still some npc there from the ship that was there. As soon as you boost pack over the site a ship should appear, if there wasn’t one there when you arrived. I’ve even had a ship land in the same place as another, like it wasn’t there.
Yep, their latest update broke a lot of things for me, too, including the landing ships one. I had a mod that allowed me to travel to POIs that I hadn't yet been to, but it's also broken now. The latest update almost broke my entire game saves but I managed to recover most of my position. I've landed on Mercury where a Base was almost on top of me and all the other POIs were closer as well. They're close enough to see, but still take time to travel to them - they appear to be within or around 1000M away now.
That sounds like an awesome mod suck that broke it. They for sure shuffled those POIs. It doesnt seem like it even logically makes sense anymore. I was inching up the planet trying to land close but not in the same spot and different POIs were appearing.
It didn’t fix my bugs of people clipping through beds when they wake up, it hasnt fixed when I go onto enemy ships and they’re empty of people.. You can’t be impressed with a giant list of fixes.. they shouldn’t need fixing in the first place
I never had those issues but I know tons of people who have. Not to say there isnt a lot more work to be done but Im glad they are at least making progress.
@@BatteryMCChappy Well I'm a kid from the 90s so I can think of hundreds of games that never needed patches on consoles such as the N64 SNES etc. It's a shame the industry has turned to release a 90% complete game now, fix the rest later.
That explains it! The only ship I did find was already in a landing zone. I'm playing on the Xbox Series S, but noticed that ships weren't landing. I have to go back and double check, but so far no. I don't need Bethesda to add extra bells and whistles just yet...I just want them to fix what is.
Agreed! Yeah Ive seen pre landed ships as well but have yet to see one come out of space and land on the planet or moon and Ive landed about 60 times now haha.
Started a new game after the update and have not had a single ship land. No random's and no Bh ships either, which is kinda the whole point of taking that trait. Also don't think it's the poi to close thing, I was getting ships landing on poi pads and relatively close to poi's before the update.
Same here. Ive had a few comments saying they got ships to land. I have had 0 and I have probably landed my ship 60 different times now. That's crazy you aren't even getting Bounty Hunters to land anymore.
I too experienced random ships landing close by before, even had some almost landing right on top of me. But now nothing lands anywhere except for a few seconds way far from me. When hand scanner is fully updated, You can see traits and POI around 2 kilometers away and ships land that far, but good luck finding them when they don't drop a marker, which happens a lot.
Mine is stuttering badly now. It was perfectly smooth before the update, now it's stutters after every auto and manual save... and it's major stuttering.
Mine is too! I wouldnt say it super bad but I am definitely seeing more stutters on my PC than before this latest update. It was smooth before driving me crazy.
Mine too, and it gets bad when I get close to walls or try to go into cover. It feels like they are sabotaging the game instead of fixing it. After every patch/fix, my game is worse. Here's one that drives me batty; when I snipe, my scope goes wonky, as I look through the scope, I'm now looking at something behind me or into the sky or the ground. I reset and same thing, I have to reset scoping about four times before it comes back to normal. I reset by using hand scanner and back to scope a few times. Needless to say I kept my sniping to minimum.
I just had another thought.There's actually a silver lining to this if they have reduced the amount of landings.That means that your base is gonna be attacked less because they have to land on the planet to get out of their ship and attack your base. This could be a positive because i'm kind of tired of my bases getting attacked and slowing down my production.
Thank goodness I thought I was the only one that noticed this...but the bug when you dock with ships in space is fixed...now you have enemies and the alarms on ships ....but no landing ships now...also I've not encountered any starborn ships at all.
I have found thru 2000 hours of playtime that the best ships are acquired tbru ship combat and boarding. Losing the ship spawn did affect the wanted trait of bounty hunters landing .
That's a good point. You can get much better ships from Space encounters especially in higher level systems. Yeah this update completely broke the bounty hunter trait which that alone tells you it wasn't a fix to an exploit but rather an unintentional consequence of moving POIs too close.
In addition a lot if the weapons are broken ..when you fire your head dissapears and you freeze and have to change weapons to carry on .... also ship landing sights are showing up which no longer have a ship on them
Yeah I heard a lot of the weapons are nerfed. I also noticed ships dont even land on landing pads on POIs anymore. I hope they fix this issue they have caused.
The ships are coming in for me, but slower. I actually don’t think this was an accidental break, I think they nerfed it because the frequent ships spawning too close together was causing other bugs. That’s just my guess, I can’t say that’s fact. As others have said in your comments, try moving away from your ship a bit and you should get your first ship. They just aren’t going to spawn back to back anymore.. and I doubt Bethesda is motivated to change that back. It is what it is. They seem to like nerfing the fun “exploits” (though this wasn’t really an exploit)
Maybe it was intentional however I hope they realize they have completely broken some core mechanics such as the bounty hunter trait. Other comments have also stated that they used their scanner that found a ship landing site and there was no ship there when they tracked it down. This patch seriously messed with certain aspects of the game and Im not sure they even realize what they broke by doing so.
@@circuitscore I guess we’ll see, but honestly, I don’t think they care if players are upset. The fact that they removed other things such as being able to get the armor from the case in the basement of the lodge, and the chest weapons glitch indicates to me that they want us to play the game a certain way. Which is really funny, because in interviews Todd says that he wants players to be able to do as much as they want to do, and play the way they want to play, because it’s a single player game experience. Bethesda is a walking contradiction of itself.
@@PreppingWithSargeIts interesting for sure especially when you compare it to Skyrim. For example there is still a glitch vendor chest I know of that has been accessible in Skyrim for over a decade and they never patched it. Where as in Starfield the devs seem to make priority over patching stuff like this instead of focusing on actual game breaking progression bugs. Bethesda is not the same company they used to be unfortunately.
Has anyone else noticed that the Hunter is standing by the far back wall by the mission and bounty kiosks in the Viewport in Atlantis. He won’t respond to attempts to talk but will engage in combat if you start it first. Maybe it’s just me since I made NG+10 a while back. That is when I first noticed this aberration.
You‘re right. I liked the feature of random ship landings for it gave some element of actual population in this universe. I always examined ship landings, meeting settlers, vanguards, catching random conversations. Yes and sometimes it had been pirates, loosing their ship. But the landing noise alone tickled my curiosity. They lost an element of surprise. Other than that, the patch is imho doing a wonderful job.
Agreed. Comments on this video suggesting that ships land on planets was a bug are way off base. It was clearly a feature that was recently broken by moving POIs so that they could lazily not bring land vehicles. Your right though the rest of the update has done a great job fixing bugs that are LONG overdue.
Its funny because I also noticed less ships landing. Also, the natural ship landing sites that rarely spawn with a ship landed when you arrive also had no ships and none departed so theyre also broken.
Ive been roaming some planetss and it seems some have no POI at all, nothing. I travelled 2000 M in 2 opposite directions and not a single thing. No POI, no small things like a shed or something with a storage box. I am quite puzzled
I think they wanted to address the complaints about having to walk link boring distances and, Bethesda style, forgot that POIs that closer would break the ships spawning rule.
100% agreed. I fear it was a lazy way to not bring us land vehicles though however I don't think they realized the consequences of moving the POIs before they rolled out this update. Clearly this update was not thoroughly tested.
On one planet I landed on, there was a pirate ship coming in very close to mine so I was able to take out three pirates as it opened its doors. Then, immediately, another pirate ship came in to land a few metres away so I took out three of their crew as well as they disembarked. Then, before I even had time to reload, ANOTHER pirate ship came in, and when I sniped four of their exiting crew, all three ships took off! Ha!
@@An0na_Mou5e If you go out walking away from a POI some ships will just appear out of thin air if you look away and look back. Its very strange behavior and I don't think that is by design. Seems like a glitch in the game as the consequences of moving the POIs.
I was kinda wondering why I wasn't seeing any ships landing. I mean, when I had the empty ship bug before the patch they was always either a pirate, spacer, ecliptic or starborn landing 10 seconds later. Now, I only had one starborn guardian land in a few hours of gameplay. One other thing I noticed is seeing the "ship landing site" POI, but nothing's there. I do still get space encounters reasonnably often (especially with the wanted perk)
Yeah there is something seriously messed up with this update. The fact that the scanner is reporting a ship landing site but nothing is showing up goes to show you that the game is not functioning as intended.
Yeah POIs seem the same after checking a few of them out and yeah ships seriously do not land at all now! Ive landed on 60 different planets and got nothing nada zip. Something is seriously messed up with this update despite what some of these fanboys keep telling me haha.
I played yesterday and had the same issue. Went to all my past ship hijacking’s areas and no ships landing. Usually there is ships flying around all over and lots of life at some of these areas but nothing. I did see ships in orbit but not on the planets or moons.
Yeah its a real shame. It added to the immersion and was a nice touch. I hope they was not an intentional change by the fun police and that they bring it back.
That is the fix that actually worked in my game. I used to have to fight them all after I came back from the Facility and talked to whoever I gave the info to, and I had to fight them all again on returning after getting info from the Beagle, and again after I talked with the person I gave authority to and again after resetting Facility. One time I said fuck it and killed them all, the only one I couldn't kill was Tobias the damn robot, who wants 150 copper. I gave it to it once and nothing special happened, disappointing and a waste of money. There are many anti-climatic moments in this game. Like the Unity is a huge one; That is the biggest disappointment for me in this game.

I see the collision hole in that cockpit is still there too. At 6:54 you nearly fell inside your cockpit, and I can say from personal experience, once you fall in, you can't get out again.
Yeah so I actually did fall in the ship right after I landed the first time on that planet. I edited that part out. I was completely stuck in my ship. Probably should have kept that part in the video 😂
I know this sucks I spent 3 hours last night and didn’t get one ship to spawn. Also my main character save is messed up I can’t talk to anyone in game all they say is oh no what are we going to do now. Has this happened to anyone else? I have 300 hours on that character and really don’t want to start over.
I know right. When it first started happening I thought I was going crazy. I dont see any good reason why they would remove ships landing on planets and moons from the game. I have not had any issues with interacting with NPCs. At least not yet.
I've had very few ship landings since the patch. On more than one occasion, the ship landing "flag" has come up on my scanner (no entering atmosphere sound though) but there will be no ship when I get there. Another time, I had a spacer hyena land almost by me as I was exploring. The landing bay didn't open at first and I thought the old bug was back but then it did. Some spacers were in the bay and I shot them as I ran into it. I tried to board but it didn't seem like the prompt to do so even came up. The ship then started to take off with me in the bay and I was eventually ejected pretty high up. Fortunately, some judicious boosting saved me from death. Andreja wasn't as lucky and landed about 300m away from a great height. Just as well companions are marked as essential! I've been getting the power distribution thing too, which is annoying so I blame Barrett!.
Ive heard that once you travel for a long distance out of the POI range that ships will start to land. Tells you that the POIs are for sure messing with the previous mechanics before the latest update. I've fallen out of a bay area before as well. The jet pack is a literal life saver haha.

I have no ships landing at all, even if no facilities or your "point of interest" spawn. This really pissed me off. I had the biggest worse gameplay breaking bugs so just did mostly bounties to level up in base game. I got the "No NPCs or loot" in Space, and "No NPCS or ramps" on landed ships. I had other big bugs too. I waited months for an earlier update but it did not fix the main issues. So finally went to NG+ which DID fix these issues. Since it had been months, and I have a lot of damage from surgeries and medication affecting memory, I chose to replay entire...everything. Except this time I mostly put off main missions as well as many side missions and was trying surveying 100% and other things. The most fun I had, missing in my base game, was having ships land a lot, and getting there, killing enemies making ship leave, or boarding ship and killing crew. Then I decided to move forward main mission and so tried "Power from Beyond" that sends you to planet Skink, and another from Vlad. Unfortunately I got the bug where I had no marker on either and could not find temples. So I submitted that, but found out it was a known progress breaking bug. So I quit playing. Two days later after news of update I tried to play and did have quests markers. I was busy with that and did not notice but two things happened. Game went crazy and forced deletion of 25% of save files, and when I landed on planets no other ships would ever land even annoying Starborn. I tried every save including from base game BEGFORE NG+ and still got no ships landing and fewer mixed encounters in space. Despite you saying it is due to closer POI spawn in each save I went many different places especially moons. I had some with no locations at all or locations further away like usual, but no ships landed. After testing I submitted ticket. Unintended consequences.
Yeah same! I stopped doing quest for awhile and was just exploring and stealing ships off planets. Now it seems that aspect of the game is completely broken. Its a shame they just cant seem to get this game right. Bethesda has always been known for bugs in there games but they were always minor and not game breaking!
Bethesda realizing people enjoy doing a thing in their game: “Nope! We won’t have any of that!!” I play Starfield as a way to wind down, enjoy the sci fi atmosphere, and just play in the big “sandbox”. Catching ships on planets was a core feature for me. This SUCKS.
Same here! It was such a fun activity to do. It was my go to when I was bored. I really hope this was an oversight by their team and its fixed because even the bounty hunter trait is completly broken at the moment.
I'd say the arrival of the creation kit is more tied to their first DLC releases. I suspect they don't want the competition from modders, and that is the sole reason it wasn't released day one. I suspect that even of the previous games where they also held it back.
Yes it could be one of the reason. I was also thinking that they are actually with some well known modders creating few mods for the Creation market. And it's not ready yet. Or they just could have unexpected issues with the CK. We'll see how it goes I guess, but man Bethesda'silence is legendary ^^
Aww man... I just saw that video about the ship stealing and wanted to try it. I had noticed that POIs were a lot closer on average when I picked the game back up after a couple months off. I guess it tracks that ship landings also seem to be a lot less frequent. Though I have seen more ships parked at POIs than before, even a Starborn ship just chilling at a civilian outpost with no Starborn or civilians anywhere.
I need to test this but apparently if you run out into the planet or moon a ways past the POIs ships will start to land which tells me spawning these POIs too close definitely has something to do with ships not initially landing.
In the newest update, I experienced the "ship is invisible when I land and I can't even exit the ship" bug for the first time. I replicated this three times in a row using "new as in pressing new in the menu game". I thought they fixed that bug. No. Now it's a feature.
I played for hours bouncing around from system to system and not one ship landed. I run around and explored. Im not sure if ulits the same everywhere but ive definitely noticed a massive change in the amount of ships landing during game play.
After the fix, my Xbox worked great for one whole day, and I thought, awesome, maybe they fixed all my issues. Nope, day 2 and things started going wonky; stuff that never happened before, but were mentioned as fixes in, not the latest, but the second patch job they did on the game, the camera flickers when I go into cover, My ship lost it's hull in space, Ship came apart and is now 2x longer than it used to be, connected by a small part of each section, and mostly invisible when I land. I am getting so tired of the inept people who work at Bethesda. I've encountered hot fixes and patches in other games and never had any issues afterwards. You'd think a company like Bethesda would have the best people who know their stuff, but I think they got the ones that passed with a C instead of a B or an A. This has been my first experience with Bethesda and maybe my last. I got so sick of it, I uninstalled Starfield this morning. Games are expensive, the consoles & PC's are expensive, controllers are crap and expensive. There's no wins for consumers in this industry. But I still try to get one; the Dummy that I am. Also, My game worked perfectly when I first purchased it, then they did a patch to stop us from getting free stuff in NA, and Akila and some other stuff that no one was complaining about, and then shit was messing up for me, then the second one and more eff ups, and now this. Don't fix what's not broken Bethesda.
Yeah its frustrating for sure. The gaming industry in general is tripping every chance they get. I dont blame you for uninstalling however I would not shy away from Bethesda's other franchises. Skyrim and even Fallout are really great IPs.
@@circuitscore I actually downloaded Fallout 3 and New Vegas, And a while ago I downloaded 4. Couldn't get it to work and forgot about it. 3 & NV was a recent thing and I can't get into them; I've attempted to about 4x now, each time I get a little further, but it's frustrating as hell. I really never had so many issues with games until I experienced Bethesda. I'm trying to figure out why 3 was game of the Year. I reinstalled Starfield and play it on my PC, where it plays much better, and the fixes all seem to be working, unlike on the Xbox. It's quite annoying that I have to do that. Skyrim is not my style, too much medieval stuff. I think they took Andreja from that game, and Ada in the Starseed mission.
Haven't noticed 🤷🏾♂️ the interest points closer I've noticed. But when moving around, the Starborn still lands near by, almost on my head. Nice that the Starborn ships fly away instead of staying there 4 ever.
Starborn seem to be the only ships that will land anymore once reaching a new location. Moving those POIs I think was just a lazy way for them to not bring ground vehicles to the game but I dont think they realized it was breaking other aspects of the game.
I noticed when I was looking for an outpost spot, ships were spawning when I was way out in the boonies from my landing sites... socks, but running way out will probably help
@circuitscore I was really far out when it was happening, so pretty time consuming. But i was getting 2 ships the last few times i did it... I think finding the landmarks where ships land would be faster

Yup! Less ships landing and more drop ships, touchdown and go. I’ve been getting a few Crimson ships and Ecliptic ships just dropping some troops and fly away. Seems that is a new standard. I guess we have to farm ships other away now.
I really do wish game companies would give us the option to opt out of game updates or the option to uninstall an installed update because i would definitely be uninstalling the latest update for starfield because for me it's done more harm than good. I was quite happy with starfield before the latest update.
Yes!!! It's not just me. I get no ships trying to land ! All planets , all my level 75 farming spots, nothing ! I'm now stuck to pirating traders hoping a Chimera III will spawn into system or Galbank III in orbit. Bethesda just shot themselves in the foot, stealing ships best part of the game for me.
Same here! I just stole a Chimera III yesterday. I guess it back to stealing ships in space! If this was intentional by them it seems like they are just trying to kill this game.
I gave up on the game a couple months ago, when it wouldn't let me enter any ships other than my own. don't know what happened, but before I could take any ship that landed after defeating the owners, but now it won't let me in the entry hatch at all. In some instances, there would be no one around the ship or come out of it like it normally did.
There are times I consider dropping playing it and coming back after a few months because of issues like these. The frustration is REAL whether one likes the game, or not.
I stopped playing a couple of months ago too. I have two games because the ships stopped opening up for the first game. Then it happened the second game too. If it was open, no one was in or around the ship. The starborn ships too.
Same here. According to the comments if you run way out into the planet you can get shjps to land but just sounds like a huge pain to do every time to get ships to drop from the sky.
Have you tested this to the point where you know that ships Everland did this ttotally break ship's landing period? Also this last update actually almost bricked my game. Now my game is heavily modded for outpost buildand this last update.I thought corrupted all of my saves like all of them. I couldn't load into the game.As soon as I would load into the game it would crash. Thankfully, I fixed it somehow not exactly sure.What I did, but I did a few things, but I saved it And now I could log back in but it wasn't looking good for a second.
I had exactly the same thing happen to me. I thought my game was over and useless, but I removed my most recent mods and it worked again. So there may be conflicts between the update and some mods that work particularly with lighting/shadow/fov etc. I had to remove a large mod that gave a lot of fixes to the vanilla game quality and another one for lighting and shadow, etc.
Yeah Ive waited for quite awhile also explored some POIs and not ships landing at all. I thought my saved was messed up at one point too. Took forever to load but eventually did.
I had the same thing happen to me, the spawn seems to be close, but as I run to it ships start dropping, this happened at least 4 times last night. not sure if it's a bug are not. but start running to the spawns and see. it could be some line you need to cross, I'm thinking I was about the 200m mark.
Interesting Ill give this a shot. I did however run to a POI with a landing pad and couldn't even get one to land there. Still a very strange change they decided to make regardless.
It seems like something is seriously wrong with this latest update to the point where it almost seems like this was an intentional change. I really hope not though.
So I have done some more testing and if you travel in the opposite direction of a major POI and turn your head back and forth while jetpack and running around eventually a ship will just magically appear. Game is very glitched right now 😂
Thats what I keep hearing. Will be doing some more testing see what I can find out! Kinda a pain if you ask me especially considering the fact we still dont have ground vehicles.
Yes, there are no ships landing on any moons for me now either, and yeah, that was one of my favorite things to do as well, shame, hope they sort it out pronto. Priority A number 1 please.
That one still is mind boggling to me. Its a single player game. Why would they spend so much time and resources patching something like that. I still know of a chest in Skyrim that I have had access to for over a decade.
I think that they are making points of interest closer so they don't have to give us any other way to travel on planets because if points of interest are now closer then why bother making or trying to give the player anything better or interest as space rover or anything
Yes the screwed it up. I tried it fixed times and nothing happened and your mercury scenery looked exactly like mine. I went to pluto planet was baren and still nada. And they screwed up the ship duplicate glich. My game crashes everytime I go back in to redupe my ships
I just got home from work and try to play the game on my Xbox series s and the game won't play at all so that is so minor compared to my problem you are lucky to be able to play this dawn game I am so upset I can't be the only one with this problem.
I haven't played in a while since I have been circulating through other games I got a nostalgic itch for so I can't really speak to a lot of the recent updates but honestly on most worlds I didn't get all that many random ships landing unless I was on Mars near the city or around other colonies, don't get me wrong there were some planets or moons where it was one right after another but that wasn't the majority of places I landed and quite frankly on the planets with a lot of landings in the middle of no where felt kind of excessive. For example, some dead rock in the middle of nowhere with no major resources has like 5 in 5 minutes land then quickly take off again always seemed rather odd
Some weird things happening with this game sense the latest update. For all the bugs they have fixed in the latest update they have just replaced them with a list of new ones. What's the point of releasing a beta update to find and fix any problems before the full update release. There's more bugs in the new update than there are in my old garden shed.
Sometimes I wonder if they are trying to kill this game. Patching the chest duplication glitch, patching accessing vendor chests, ships spawns. They never would have done this in the Skyrim days. I still know of a vendor chest in Skyrim that I can access to this day and there have been hundreds of updates to that game.
Just noticed this yesterday after coming across your first video on stealing freestar ships on Mercury. Is this all planets? That would suck…..I haven’t gotten the ships I need, and I am not doing the main campaign until I get them.
So far yes I have noticed this change in all systems and planets. Can still steal them in space but getting them to land seems to be broken at the moment. I did see comments saying they still land but you need to run for miles in a random direction. Ill be trying this to see if that will work but not an ideal solution imo.
But you're wrong because I just had a ship land last night when there are all kinds of points of interest within View. About four or five V run guys got off the ship I killed them all and the ship took off...

They really messed this one up after the last update. Even on the scanner if you find a landing site there are no ships that appear.
Think if you start moving away from your ship, the inbounds will spawn... biggest issue that I've noticed is every time I step out of the pilot seat, the pips (weapons, engines, shields and grav drive) all reset to some wonky configuration that I keep forgetting to set back to my preference... Look forward to future vids!

Having the same issue, not sure what the problem is. I’m lvl 208 ships are not spawning anymore for some reason. They need to fix it, I loved doing this
It was one of the best parts of the game! Also added to the immersion of a space game. Hope they fix it soon!
It's really sad that whenever BGS send out updates, something else gets broken. They should have just left it alone coz the modders had already fixed most of what BGS have just updated! Also, where's the creation kit that was supposed to be issued in February?

na, just make the packs boost us around like they should instead of just a jump mechanism. there is a mod that does it and it help with travel tons.

That makes sense now. I was landing in random spots to farm some better weapons at POI's and I noticed that I didn't hear any "pop" for a ship landing. I wasn't trying to steal ships so I didn't think anything of it. I agree, I always liked to board and take some cool ships.
It added so much immersion with ships landing on planets and moons. Maybe they should have dialed it back a bit but to entirely remove it just seems strange.
Yeah I've noticed this too since the latest update. Also, since the update my companion has "lost" the upgraded weapon I gave them and also the ship power distribution bug is faaaaaar more annoying..like before it would randomly distribute say 2-3 points of power, now every time I do any sort of travel (surface to orbit, in system planet to planet etc) it keeps dumping around 10 points into my EM weapon system that I usually leave powered down untill I actually need them. Like how hard is it to remember how I distributed my power?!?!
Agreed! Resetting all power levels in our ships is incredibly annoying.
I did notice the power thing, I also have to add power to grav drive every time as well, it was automatic before the fixes. I have not seen any Guardian(Starborn) ships land for a long time as well, even after fixes, but it now includes all ships, and when one does land, it's only to drop of some people and takes off right away. I uninstalled the game this morning, going to stay away from it for a few months, maybe by then they'll have it working properly.

I have a mod that keeps your ship power distribution the way you set it, but sometimes, when I land, it looks like the game changes everything. If I leave it until I'm in flight again though, it usually resets itself to my settings. If it wasn't for mods, I wouldn't have been able to finish my game as one of the missions was broken! You can also get a mod that stops the save game from marking up that you're using mods... which is perfect! :)
Creations keep breaking the sound, and certain ones break the game, and I keep loading in through the floor, and the world isn't loading in, no matter what save I use... It's getting frustrating, and I quit playing it after multiple attempts at trying to get Creations to work... Bethesda needs to fix this buggy mess...
Did you figure out what mod was causing the issue? Or is it just any of them you have installed?
I'm having the same issue with the ship spawns. The other new bug is my ship power levels are resetting every time I get in the ship. Super helpful when you have a ship bounty and your main weapon is at half power 👍🏻
Same here. I go to grav jump and just sit there. Look at my power levels and they are reset. Bummer.

Same here! Like what is the point of setting custom levels if its just going to reset everytime you start the ship up.
My ship systems do the same, but if I leave them alone, they reset to the full levels once I'm in space again. It's something I now have to keep an eye on though.
Small addendum to your discovery: I always find an empty ship landing point some distance off from my own ship landing point. And they stay empty...these ghost ship landing points. I have not encountered another landing ship in the last 20 hours of playing....not even once.
Also that ship power distribution bug is now completely running amok, everytime i jump it messes my power distribution in the worst way, like draining my shield and weapons completely of power when there are incoming enemies...
I found these as well - strange thing is, it appeared empty so I did not go to it but when I turned my back to head in another direction I heard a ship - don't you know one was taking off from the empty landing site!

Before this Update i had a similar strange thing: Starborn Guardian IVs everywhere landing. But no Starborns around it. And i could enter these ships and commandeer them.
I researched and it had something to do with quicktravelling from a earlier NPC ship i would have had to either leave or commandeer (which i never had) and now i see Starborn ships sometimes landing...but nowhere to be found...not even where the ship landing site should pop up.
Bethesda seriously fragged this game up. They shouldn't have released such a mess.
The Fallout 4-Engine already was really faulty...to use it again in Starfield without real overhaul was purely a dumb move...and not one that should have ended in an expensive AAA-Game.
Aw, man, that power distribution bug must be maddening! There's a mod you could get that would stop it doing that (on Nexus) and also one for stopping the game taking achievements from your modded game. They work really well.

This doesn't seem to me to be a bug, but a bug FIX. It seems more like they spoiled an exploit that you were using. To call this a bug implies that the intention was for players to be able to easily and quickly farm ships for money. And that doesn't sound correct. I defintely still see ships land all the time, but just not as regularly as they used to (I think THAT was the bug, that ship landings were too frequent and predictable).
Not sure I agree for a few reasons. I liked being able to access the mannequin without a lockpick. But it is a flaw. One I enjoyed and hurt no one so it needed to be fixed. Now you have a mechanic of the game. In this case ship stealing being 'fixed' so it can't happen. I suppose entertainment is a bug that needs to be removed as well?

@@danamoore1788This kind of thing is a hallmark of games like this and No Mans Sky. Players find ways to exploit the games to make money quicker, and devs take that away. Then fans find another way and then devs do the same. It’s not taking away entertainment, it’s just part of the game. Players are going to find another way to do this. He’s going to find another planet that lets him do this same thing, and then devs will patch. Then he’s going to have to do it again.
What's the difference in stealing a vessel on a planet or one in space, you either have to kill a crew or beat the vessel down to board it in space and sometimes you still have to kill the crew once boarded in space - a steal is a steal. Why prevent one (on a planet) but not the other (in space) - either leave both or stop both - it don't make sense.
There seems to be less ships spawning in space as well and none spawning on the ground. I don’t think that’s a bug fix. I think that’s a mistake.
Not only have I not had any random ships landing on planet's after the latest update, I have only found one ship already on a planet when I landed, and when I got to with In a couple of yards of the ship it disappeared but if I take out my scanner it tells me its still there. Its very annoying when they release an update for a game to improve it but instead make it worse. So now I have to wait nearly six weeks for another update to fix the many problem's the the last update has caused. My love for this game really is been tested.

I have noticed this. AND if you go away from your ship in a random direction, you may or may not hear the entry boom, but I have seen ships landing while well away from my ship. AND, if the POI has a landing pad, they will land on the pad.
I found a POI with a landing pad and still no ships. I hope they fix this issue soon. Ive even heard the entry boom and nothing drops.

Back to a previous landing site that you commandeered a ship. Then ft to the ship landing area, there may still some npc there from the ship that was there. As soon as you boost pack over the site a ship should appear, if there wasn’t one there when you arrived. I’ve even had a ship land in the same place as another, like it wasn’t there.

Yep, their latest update broke a lot of things for me, too, including the landing ships one. I had a mod that allowed me to travel to POIs that I hadn't yet been to, but it's also broken now. The latest update almost broke my entire game saves but I managed to recover most of my position. I've landed on Mercury where a Base was almost on top of me and all the other POIs were closer as well. They're close enough to see, but still take time to travel to them - they appear to be within or around 1000M away now.
That sounds like an awesome mod suck that broke it. They for sure shuffled those POIs. It doesnt seem like it even logically makes sense anymore. I was inching up the planet trying to land close but not in the same spot and different POIs were appearing.
It didn’t fix my bugs of people clipping through beds when they wake up, it hasnt fixed when I go onto enemy ships and they’re empty of people.. You can’t be impressed with a giant list of fixes.. they shouldn’t need fixing in the first place
I never had those issues but I know tons of people who have. Not to say there isnt a lot more work to be done but Im glad they are at least making progress.

@@BatteryMCChappy Well I'm a kid from the 90s so I can think of hundreds of games that never needed patches on consoles such as the N64 SNES etc. It's a shame the industry has turned to release a 90% complete game now, fix the rest later.
That explains it! The only ship I did find was already in a landing zone. I'm playing on the Xbox Series S, but noticed that ships weren't landing. I have to go back and double check, but so far no. I don't need Bethesda to add extra bells and whistles just yet...I just want them to fix what is.
Agreed! Yeah Ive seen pre landed ships as well but have yet to see one come out of space and land on the planet or moon and Ive landed about 60 times now haha.

Started a new game after the update and have not had a single ship land. No random's and no Bh ships either, which is kinda the whole point of taking that trait. Also don't think it's the poi to close thing, I was getting ships landing on poi pads and relatively close to poi's before the update.
I was about to start over...now I'm glad I didn't but the bug is on Xbox S too.
Same here. Ive had a few comments saying they got ships to land. I have had 0 and I have probably landed my ship 60 different times now. That's crazy you aren't even getting Bounty Hunters to land anymore.
I too experienced random ships landing close by before, even had some almost landing right on top of me. But now nothing lands anywhere except for a few seconds way far from me. When hand scanner is fully updated, You can see traits and POI around 2 kilometers away and ships land that far, but good luck finding them when they don't drop a marker, which happens a lot.
Mine is stuttering badly now. It was perfectly smooth before the update, now it's stutters after every auto and manual save... and it's major stuttering.
Mine is too! I wouldnt say it super bad but I am definitely seeing more stutters on my PC than before this latest update. It was smooth before driving me crazy.

Mine too, and it gets bad when I get close to walls or try to go into cover. It feels like they are sabotaging the game instead of fixing it. After every patch/fix, my game is worse. Here's one that drives me batty; when I snipe, my scope goes wonky, as I look through the scope, I'm now looking at something behind me or into the sky or the ground. I reset and same thing, I have to reset scoping about four times before it comes back to normal. I reset by using hand scanner and back to scope a few times. Needless to say I kept my sniping to minimum.

Oh, and administrative re-allocation of ships works very well indeed, also on Mercury.
I just had another thought.There's actually a silver lining to this if they have reduced the amount of landings.That means that your base is gonna be attacked less because they have to land on the planet to get out of their ship and attack your base. This could be a positive because i'm kind of tired of my bases getting attacked and slowing down my production.
Thank goodness I thought I was the only one that noticed this...but the bug when you dock with ships in space is fixed...now you have enemies and the alarms on ships ....but no landing ships now...also I've not encountered any starborn ships at all.

Yeah they fixed one thing just to break something else. Clearly Bethesda didn't do very thorough testing on this latest patch.
If you are in to outposts, this also hinders the location with building restrictions, causing you to have to run further out to get a good sight.
That is a good point. Instead of making POIs closer they REALLY need to bring us ground vehicles.

I have found thru 2000 hours of playtime that the best ships are acquired tbru ship combat and boarding. Losing the ship spawn did affect the wanted trait of bounty hunters landing .
That's a good point. You can get much better ships from Space encounters especially in higher level systems. Yeah this update completely broke the bounty hunter trait which that alone tells you it wasn't a fix to an exploit but rather an unintentional consequence of moving POIs too close.
In addition a lot if the weapons are broken ..when you fire your head dissapears and you freeze and have to change weapons to carry on .... also ship landing sights are showing up which no longer have a ship on them
Yeah I heard a lot of the weapons are nerfed. I also noticed ships dont even land on landing pads on POIs anymore. I hope they fix this issue they have caused.
The ships are coming in for me, but slower. I actually don’t think this was an accidental break, I think they nerfed it because the frequent ships spawning too close together was causing other bugs.
That’s just my guess, I can’t say that’s fact.
As others have said in your comments, try moving away from your ship a bit and you should get your first ship. They just aren’t going to spawn back to back anymore.. and I doubt Bethesda is motivated to change that back.
It is what it is. They seem to like nerfing the fun “exploits” (though this wasn’t really an exploit)
Maybe it was intentional however I hope they realize they have completely broken some core mechanics such as the bounty hunter trait. Other comments have also stated that they used their scanner that found a ship landing site and there was no ship there when they tracked it down. This patch seriously messed with certain aspects of the game and Im not sure they even realize what they broke by doing so.
@@circuitscore I guess we’ll see, but honestly, I don’t think they care if players are upset. The fact that they removed other things such as being able to get the armor from the case in the basement of the lodge, and the chest weapons glitch indicates to me that they want us to play the game a certain way. Which is really funny, because in interviews Todd says that he wants players to be able to do as much as they want to do, and play the way they want to play, because it’s a single player game experience. Bethesda is a walking contradiction of itself.
@@PreppingWithSargeIts interesting for sure especially when you compare it to Skyrim. For example there is still a glitch vendor chest I know of that has been accessible in Skyrim for over a decade and they never patched it. Where as in Starfield the devs seem to make priority over patching stuff like this instead of focusing on actual game breaking progression bugs. Bethesda is not the same company they used to be unfortunately.
Has anyone else noticed that the Hunter is standing by the far back wall by the mission and bounty kiosks in the Viewport in Atlantis. He won’t respond to attempts to talk but will engage in combat if you start it first. Maybe it’s just me since I made NG+10 a while back. That is when I first noticed this aberration.

You‘re right. I liked the feature of random ship landings for it gave some element of actual population in this universe. I always examined ship landings, meeting settlers, vanguards, catching random conversations. Yes and sometimes it had been pirates, loosing their ship. But the landing noise alone tickled my curiosity. They lost an element of surprise. Other than that, the patch is imho doing a wonderful job.
Agreed. Comments on this video suggesting that ships land on planets was a bug are way off base. It was clearly a feature that was recently broken by moving POIs so that they could lazily not bring land vehicles. Your right though the rest of the update has done a great job fixing bugs that are LONG overdue.
Its funny because I also noticed less ships landing. Also, the natural ship landing sites that rarely spawn with a ship landed when you arrive also had no ships and none departed so theyre also broken.
Yeah I ran to a POI with a landing pad and nothing landed. Its completely broken now.
Ive been roaming some planetss and it seems some have no POI at all, nothing. I travelled 2000 M in 2 opposite directions and not a single thing. No POI, no small things like a shed or something with a storage box. I am quite puzzled

I think they wanted to address the complaints about having to walk link boring distances and, Bethesda style, forgot that POIs that closer would break the ships spawning rule.
100% agreed. I fear it was a lazy way to not bring us land vehicles though however I don't think they realized the consequences of moving the POIs before they rolled out this update. Clearly this update was not thoroughly tested.
On one planet I landed on, there was a pirate ship coming in very close to mine so I was able to take out three pirates as it opened its doors. Then, immediately, another pirate ship came in to land a few metres away so I took out three of their crew as well as they disembarked. Then, before I even had time to reload, ANOTHER pirate ship came in, and when I sniped four of their exiting crew, all three ships took off! Ha!

@@An0na_Mou5e If you go out walking away from a POI some ships will just appear out of thin air if you look away and look back. Its very strange behavior and I don't think that is by design. Seems like a glitch in the game as the consequences of moving the POIs.
I was kinda wondering why I wasn't seeing any ships landing. I mean, when I had the empty ship bug before the patch they was always either a pirate, spacer, ecliptic or starborn landing 10 seconds later. Now, I only had one starborn guardian land in a few hours of gameplay.
One other thing I noticed is seeing the "ship landing site" POI, but nothing's there.
I do still get space encounters reasonnably often (especially with the wanted perk)
Yeah there is something seriously messed up with this update. The fact that the scanner is reporting a ship landing site but nothing is showing up goes to show you that the game is not functioning as intended.
I don't think the POIs are any different. But the ships just don't land. EVER. You can find landing spots with markers .. but they are empty.
Yeah POIs seem the same after checking a few of them out and yeah ships seriously do not land at all now! Ive landed on 60 different planets and got nothing nada zip. Something is seriously messed up with this update despite what some of these fanboys keep telling me haha.
I played yesterday and had the same issue. Went to all my past ship hijacking’s areas and no ships landing. Usually there is ships flying around all over and lots of life at some of these areas but nothing. I did see ships in orbit but not on the planets or moons.
Yeah its a real shame. It added to the immersion and was a nice touch. I hope they was not an intentional change by the fun police and that they bring it back.
Yup; the Starseed 'fix' opened FDR's door, but when Genghis Khan ran into a building, the doors were 'inaccesible'; smdh.
That is the fix that actually worked in my game. I used to have to fight them all after I came back from the Facility and talked to whoever I gave the info to, and I had to fight them all again on returning after getting info from the Beagle, and again after I talked with the person I gave authority to and again after resetting Facility. One time I said fuck it and killed them all, the only one I couldn't kill was Tobias the damn robot, who wants 150 copper. I gave it to it once and nothing special happened, disappointing and a waste of money. There are many anti-climatic moments in this game. Like the Unity is a huge one; That is the biggest disappointment for me in this game.
This is so true, also vlad no longer gives temple locations. Got 1 location after update and then silence.
ah, I wondered about that! I thought it was because the storyline must have been different. But I've got tons of surveyed planet data with nowhere to go as he doesn't accept them anymore.

I see the collision hole in that cockpit is still there too. At 6:54 you nearly fell inside your cockpit, and I can say from personal experience, once you fall in, you can't get out again.
Yeah so I actually did fall in the ship right after I landed the first time on that planet. I edited that part out. I was completely stuck in my ship. Probably should have kept that part in the video 😂
I know this sucks I spent 3 hours last night and didn’t get one ship to spawn. Also my main character save is messed up I can’t talk to anyone in game all they say is oh no what are we going to do now. Has this happened to anyone else? I have 300 hours on that character and really don’t want to start over.

I know right. When it first started happening I thought I was going crazy. I dont see any good reason why they would remove ships landing on planets and moons from the game. I have not had any issues with interacting with NPCs. At least not yet.
I've had very few ship landings since the patch. On more than one occasion, the ship landing "flag" has come up on my scanner (no entering atmosphere sound though) but there will be no ship when I get there. Another time, I had a spacer hyena land almost by me as I was exploring. The landing bay didn't open at first and I thought the old bug was back but then it did. Some spacers were in the bay and I shot them as I ran into it. I tried to board but it didn't seem like the prompt to do so even came up. The ship then started to take off with me in the bay and I was eventually ejected pretty high up.
Fortunately, some judicious boosting saved me from death. Andreja wasn't as lucky and landed about 300m away from a great height. Just as well companions are marked as essential!
I've been getting the power distribution thing too, which is annoying so I blame Barrett!.
Ive heard that once you travel for a long distance out of the POI range that ships will start to land. Tells you that the POIs are for sure messing with the previous mechanics before the latest update. I've fallen out of a bay area before as well. The jet pack is a literal life saver haha.
I tried to find ships landing on mercury and found many settlements and also no ships came also if any do come they are all empty and Can't be boarded.
Its a shame this update broke this so badly. I really hope it was an accident and not intentional.
I have no ships landing at all, even if no facilities or your "point of interest" spawn. This really pissed me off. I had the biggest worse gameplay breaking bugs so just did mostly bounties to level up in base game. I got the "No NPCs or loot" in Space, and "No NPCS or ramps" on landed ships. I had other big bugs too. I waited months for an earlier update but it did not fix the main issues. So finally went to NG+ which DID fix these issues. Since it had been months, and I have a lot of damage from surgeries and medication affecting memory, I chose to replay entire...everything. Except this time I mostly put off main missions as well as many side missions and was trying surveying 100% and other things. The most fun I had, missing in my base game, was having ships land a lot, and getting there, killing enemies making ship leave, or boarding ship and killing crew. Then I decided to move forward main mission and so tried "Power from Beyond" that sends you to planet Skink, and another from Vlad. Unfortunately I got the bug where I had no marker on either and could not find temples. So I submitted that, but found out it was a known progress breaking bug. So I quit playing. Two days later after news of update I tried to play and did have quests markers. I was busy with that and did not notice but two things happened. Game went crazy and forced deletion of 25% of save files, and when I landed on planets no other ships would ever land even annoying Starborn. I tried every save including from base game BEGFORE NG+ and still got no ships landing and fewer mixed encounters in space. Despite you saying it is due to closer POI spawn in each save I went many different places especially moons. I had some with no locations at all or locations further away like usual, but no ships landed. After testing I submitted ticket. Unintended consequences.
Yeah same! I stopped doing quest for awhile and was just exploring and stealing ships off planets. Now it seems that aspect of the game is completely broken. Its a shame they just cant seem to get this game right. Bethesda has always been known for bugs in there games but they were always minor and not game breaking!
Since the update I have not seen the Ship Landing Area POE That would show up on the map ever before the Ship show up

Bethesda realizing people enjoy doing a thing in their game: “Nope! We won’t have any of that!!” I play Starfield as a way to wind down, enjoy the sci fi atmosphere, and just play in the big “sandbox”. Catching ships on planets was a core feature for me. This SUCKS.
Same here! It was such a fun activity to do. It was my go to when I was bored. I really hope this was an oversight by their team and its fixed because even the bounty hunter trait is completly broken at the moment.
They probably did this as a cheap fix to having to include vehicles. Won’t need them now that everything is right outside your ship
100% agreed! I think this was their lazy solution to vehicles which we may not even get now and in turn it completely broke ship spawns.
Oh boy we definitely won't see the Creation Kit anytime soon with all theses issues.
I'd say the arrival of the creation kit is more tied to their first DLC releases. I suspect they don't want the competition from modders, and that is the sole reason it wasn't released day one. I suspect that even of the previous games where they also held it back.
Yes it could be one of the reason. I was also thinking that they are actually with some well known modders creating few mods for the Creation market. And it's not ready yet.
Or they just could have unexpected issues with the CK.
We'll see how it goes I guess, but man Bethesda'silence is legendary ^^
I cannot wait for Creation Kit! I hope it comes sooner than the DLC.
Aww man... I just saw that video about the ship stealing and wanted to try it. I had noticed that POIs were a lot closer on average when I picked the game back up after a couple months off. I guess it tracks that ship landings also seem to be a lot less frequent. Though I have seen more ships parked at POIs than before, even a Starborn ship just chilling at a civilian outpost with no Starborn or civilians anywhere.
I need to test this but apparently if you run out into the planet or moon a ways past the POIs ships will start to land which tells me spawning these POIs too close definitely has something to do with ships not initially landing.
In the newest update, I experienced the "ship is invisible when I land and I can't even exit the ship" bug for the first time. I replicated this three times in a row using "new as in pressing new in the menu game". I thought they fixed that bug. No. Now it's a feature.
I had this happen at a landing pad a few times! Had to reload my save. Super annoying they cant get this game right.
I played for hours bouncing around from system to system and not one ship landed. I run around and explored. Im not sure if ulits the same everywhere but ive definitely noticed a massive change in the amount of ships landing during game play.
Yeah Im almost wondering if this was intentional rather than on accident.
After the fix, my Xbox worked great for one whole day, and I thought, awesome, maybe they fixed all my issues. Nope, day 2 and things started going wonky; stuff that never happened before, but were mentioned as fixes in, not the latest, but the second patch job they did on the game, the camera flickers when I go into cover, My ship lost it's hull in space, Ship came apart and is now 2x longer than it used to be, connected by a small part of each section, and mostly invisible when I land. I am getting so tired of the inept people who work at Bethesda. I've encountered hot fixes and patches in other games and never had any issues afterwards. You'd think a company like Bethesda would have the best people who know their stuff, but I think they got the ones that passed with a C instead of a B or an A. This has been my first experience with Bethesda and maybe my last. I got so sick of it, I uninstalled Starfield this morning. Games are expensive, the consoles & PC's are expensive, controllers are crap and expensive. There's no wins for consumers in this industry. But I still try to get one; the Dummy that I am. Also, My game worked perfectly when I first purchased it, then they did a patch to stop us from getting free stuff in NA, and Akila and some other stuff that no one was complaining about, and then shit was messing up for me, then the second one and more eff ups, and now this. Don't fix what's not broken Bethesda.
Yeah its frustrating for sure. The gaming industry in general is tripping every chance they get. I dont blame you for uninstalling however I would not shy away from Bethesda's other franchises. Skyrim and even Fallout are really great IPs.
@@circuitscore I actually downloaded Fallout 3 and New Vegas, And a while ago I downloaded 4. Couldn't get it to work and forgot about it. 3 & NV was a recent thing and I can't get into them; I've attempted to about 4x now, each time I get a little further, but it's frustrating as hell. I really never had so many issues with games until I experienced Bethesda. I'm trying to figure out why 3 was game of the Year. I reinstalled Starfield and play it on my PC, where it plays much better, and the fixes all seem to be working, unlike on the Xbox. It's quite annoying that I have to do that. Skyrim is not my style, too much medieval stuff. I think they took Andreja from that game, and Ada in the Starseed mission.
Haven't noticed 🤷🏾♂️ the interest points closer I've noticed. But when moving around, the Starborn still lands near by, almost on my head. Nice that the Starborn ships fly away instead of staying there 4 ever.
Starborn seem to be the only ships that will land anymore once reaching a new location. Moving those POIs I think was just a lazy way for them to not bring ground vehicles to the game but I dont think they realized it was breaking other aspects of the game.
I noticed when I was looking for an outpost spot, ships were spawning when I was way out in the boonies from my landing sites... socks, but running way out will probably help
I tried this the other night and still couldnt get ships to spawn. Ill have to give it another go today see what I can find out.
@circuitscore I was really far out when it was happening, so pretty time consuming. But i was getting 2 ships the last few times i did it... I think finding the landmarks where ships land would be faster
@circuitscore I have went back to planets, and had more ships land in same areas tho. So, unless they changed that, old landing sites should work too.

Id imagine it could make it more realistic in that space travel is lonely. Not alot of people in the vastness of space
Yes and no. The ships were landing too frequently but at the same time the game is set way in the future where space ships have replaced cars.
Sorry for that lost Feature. I'd liked that most to capture ships that way
It was definitely the easiest way. Hopefully they address these issues they have caused.
Space encounters have increased, they just fixed the unintended easy exploit. You want to steal a ship, you need to combat it.
I wouldnt really call ships landing on a planet an exploit. They should have dialed it back a bit but not entirely eliminate it. I cant even get ships to land on landing pads on POIs anymore. Talk about immersion breaking.
Yup! Less ships landing and more drop ships, touchdown and go. I’ve been getting a few Crimson ships and Ecliptic ships just dropping some troops and fly away. Seems that is a new standard. I guess we have to farm ships other away now.
I haven't even seen ships drop down and go. Yeah looks like its back to farming for ships in space!
I really do wish game companies would give us the option to opt out of game updates or the option to uninstall an installed update because i would definitely be uninstalling the latest update for starfield because for me it's done more harm than good. I was quite happy with starfield before the latest update.
Same here. It was pretty good as is. I really just want creation kit and the DLC they are promising.
Haven't seen a release date yet for the dlc or creation kit. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later.

I'm now stuck to pirating traders hoping a Chimera III will spawn into system or Galbank III in orbit. Bethesda just shot themselves in the foot, stealing ships best part of the game for me.
Same here! I just stole a Chimera III yesterday. I guess it back to stealing ships in space! If this was intentional by them it seems like they are just trying to kill this game.
I gave up on the game a couple months ago, when it wouldn't let me enter any ships other than my own. don't know what happened, but before I could take any ship that landed after defeating the owners, but now it won't let me in the entry hatch at all. In some instances, there would be no one around the ship or come out of it like it normally did.
That issue was fixed in the previous patch. I was suffering the same thing.
There are times I consider dropping playing it and coming back after a few months because of issues like these. The frustration is REAL whether one likes the game, or not.
I stopped playing a couple of months ago too. I have two games because the ships stopped opening up for the first game. Then it happened the second game too.
If it was open, no one was in or around the ship. The starborn ships too.
I never had this problem personally but I know of a TON of people who did. Crazy it took them this long to patch it.
I will get back on and see if the ships are now opening up. I really do hope so. I was so bummed about this glitch.
Be really cool if they added the powers from beyond quest bug in any of the fixes lol

Yeah something is seriously messed up after this latest patch. Bethesda clearly didn't do very thorough testing on this update.
After the update I can no longer access my main base that I have everything stored at the base has just disappeared

Same here. According to the comments if you run way out into the planet you can get shjps to land but just sounds like a huge pain to do every time to get ships to drop from the sky.
All I get is Starborn mercenaries getting dropped off. Would be nice to be able to loot them but we can't have anything from Bathesda.

Have you tested this to the point where you know that ships Everland did this ttotally break ship's landing period? Also this last update actually almost bricked my game. Now my game is heavily modded for outpost buildand this last update.I thought corrupted all of my saves like all of them. I couldn't load into the game.As soon as I would load into the game it would crash. Thankfully, I fixed it somehow not exactly sure.What I did, but I did a few things, but I saved it And now I could log back in but it wasn't looking good for a second.
I had exactly the same thing happen to me. I thought my game was over and useless, but I removed my most recent mods and it worked again. So there may be conflicts between the update and some mods that work particularly with lighting/shadow/fov etc. I had to remove a large mod that gave a lot of fixes to the vanilla game quality and another one for lighting and shadow, etc.
Yeah Ive waited for quite awhile also explored some POIs and not ships landing at all. I thought my saved was messed up at one point too. Took forever to load but eventually did.
I still dont see any ships landing, parked anywhere of any faction .
Yeah its completely broken at the moment despite what all the fanboys are saying haha. I haven't seen a ship physically land since this update.
I had the same thing happen to me, the spawn seems to be close, but as I run to it ships start dropping, this happened at least 4 times last night. not sure if it's a bug are not. but start running to the spawns and see. it could be some line you need to cross, I'm thinking I was about the 200m mark.
Interesting Ill give this a shot. I did however run to a POI with a landing pad and couldn't even get one to land there. Still a very strange change they decided to make regardless.
I've had a couple of ships loading in, half way through landing they disappear
Another commenter said the same thing. I think by moving those POIs it really glitched out this game with hostile and friendly ship spawns.
I actually had a landing abort, I got the loud bang, I looked up and saw the ship coming down then it just dissapeared. Very Agrovating
It seems like something is seriously wrong with this latest update to the point where it almost seems like this was an intentional change. I really hope not though.
I wonder if you travel by foot to a place that’s far enough away will a ship land then?
So I have done some more testing and if you travel in the opposite direction of a major POI and turn your head back and forth while jetpack and running around eventually a ship will just magically appear. Game is very glitched right now 😂
They have seemed to have nerfed a lot of the weapons.

Ship's still spawn randomly you just have to go out further past the point of interests
Thats what I keep hearing. Will be doing some more testing see what I can find out! Kinda a pain if you ask me especially considering the fact we still dont have ground vehicles.
Yes, there are no ships landing on any moons for me now either, and yeah, that was one of my favorite things to do as well, shame, hope they sort it out pronto. Priority A number 1 please.

Starfield day 1 looks better than the "fixed" Starfield from today. At least you could use the vendor's chests glitch. 🙄
That one still is mind boggling to me. Its a single player game. Why would they spend so much time and resources patching something like that. I still know of a chest in Skyrim that I have had access to for over a decade.

Since update, my fps craps out when I load screens or exit a menu. For like half a minute I can't move at all.

I think that they are making points of interest closer so they don't have to give us any other way to travel on planets because if points of interest are now closer then why bother making or trying to give the player anything better or interest as space rover or anything
Absolutely. Its just a lazy way for them to not bring us any kind of land vehicles for exploration.

Yes the screwed it up. I tried it fixed times and nothing happened and your mercury scenery looked exactly like mine. I went to pluto planet was baren and still nada. And they screwed up the ship duplicate glich. My game crashes everytime I go back in to redupe my ships

I just got home from work and try to play the game on my Xbox series s and the game won't play at all so that is so minor compared to my problem you are lucky to be able to play this dawn game I am so upset I can't be the only one with this problem.

I haven't played in a while since I have been circulating through other games I got a nostalgic itch for so I can't really speak to a lot of the recent updates but honestly on most worlds I didn't get all that many random ships landing unless I was on Mars near the city or around other colonies, don't get me wrong there were some planets or moons where it was one right after another but that wasn't the majority of places I landed and quite frankly on the planets with a lot of landings in the middle of no where felt kind of excessive. For example, some dead rock in the middle of nowhere with no major resources has like 5 in 5 minutes land then quickly take off again always seemed rather odd
Depends on the planet/moon. I used to get ships landing 90% of the time on Mercury for example.
Some weird things happening with this game sense the latest update. For all the bugs they have fixed in the latest update they have just replaced them with a list of new ones. What's the point of releasing a beta update to find and fix any problems before the full update release. There's more bugs in the new update than there are in my old garden shed.
Thats exactly what I was thinking! What is the point of releasing a beta if they aren't going to thoroughly test it. Which they clearly didn't do.
My POI's don't show up at all anymore...I'll take no ships if I can get my POI's back.

I guess you have to land and then run on the planet until you are far enough away from a POI before the ships will land.
Ah that makes sense. So instead of running miles to the POI we now have to run miles for ships to spawn. They really just need to add land vehicles.

Bethesda nerfed that functionality, did not find any planet with ship spaws since this update.
Went from a 90% chance of a ship landing to 0%. Clearly somethings not right here.
Yup, for me, they took the fun right out of the game, no random landing vessels anywhere - no bad guys, no good guys, no starborn - NOTHING.
Sometimes I wonder if they are trying to kill this game. Patching the chest duplication glitch, patching accessing vendor chests, ships spawns. They never would have done this in the Skyrim days. I still know of a vendor chest in Skyrim that I can access to this day and there have been hundreds of updates to that game.
Just noticed this yesterday after coming across your first video on stealing freestar ships on Mercury. Is this all planets? That would suck…..I haven’t gotten the ships I need, and I am not doing the main campaign until I get them.
So far yes I have noticed this change in all systems and planets. Can still steal them in space but getting them to land seems to be broken at the moment. I did see comments saying they still land but you need to run for miles in a random direction. Ill be trying this to see if that will work but not an ideal solution imo.
or you now just need to just travle past them on foot long enogh to spawn the ships. so it is flipped around in a way.
Bethesda really needs to give us land vehicles.
I urge everyone to put in a bug report on either their site or discord.

But you're wrong because I just had a ship land last night when there are all kinds of points of interest within View. About four or five V run guys got off the ship I killed them all and the ship took off...

Of course they broke it, they break it just a little more each time they update it. I won't be re installing it until the console mods arrive.
I will say they fixed quite a bit in this update but yeah the ships not landing on planets or moons anymore need to be fixed.
