2:25:46 if you romance Gale and try to discuss with him inviting Halsin, it’s an absolutely hilarious discussion He thinks that you wanting to invite “a third” is offering to Gale to have kids “What? Like a child?!”

orin’s doppelgänger reveals are so crazy the first time around because you have no idea it’s coming, it’s always really entertaining to see people get spooked by her xD people complain about how act 3 feels so much more expansive, but honestly, after the shadow cursed lands i was cheering and wooing to have sunlight and just people around. besides, they’ve been hyping up baldur’s gate the entire game! i honestly really love act 3 on every replay i do because you can get insane items here and know what quests are important and which you don’t wanna do. ngl it has turned into my favorite act due to replays, even though it has some flaws. you’ll notice this more as you go in, but an entire area was cut (the upper city) due to time constraints, so there are some pacing issues in some quests, but honestly it’s nothing too bad. people also complain about how act 3 has a lighter tone at least in the beginning, but again, it’s SUCH a welcome reprieve after the shadow cursed lands. i also love act 3 playing as the dark urge (resist). if you know you know. can’t go back to playing as tavs after that xD
I didn't realise people complained about act 3 at all lol, it was definitely overwhelming the first time but it has always been my favourite of the 3 acts
After the post-release performance and bugfixes, which were obviously needed, Act3 is probably the best act, or at least on par with Act2. Especially if we're talking subsequent playthroughs, especially if we're talking playing as origin character, and especially if it is Dark Urge (for me, embracing was one of the best RP and gaming experiences ever). All 3 acts are very different not only in tone, but in design approach, and while I appreciate probably one of the best onboardings to the game ever made that is Act1, or linear RPG that is done right by providing maximum RP options within it that is Act2, Act3 is, objectively, is the ultimate "Larian's Act" out of all 6 acts from DOS2 and BG3 in terms of design approach and tone. BG3 in general follows classic 3 act story structure for storytelling, same as DOS2. It implies having a climax at the end of Act2 (and the highest point of story, that is classic protagonist journey in this case), a breather/regrouping afterwards (literally Rivington) and resolution with its own climax/ending (act3). If we just google 3 act structure, we can clearly see the chart and how the storytelling "supposed" to be in this structure from a classic storytelling perspective. Does it work for gaming as is, or at least are we conditioned to understand and follow through it? Now that's the question and much broader discussion, not for YT comments for sure, but I would say that a plenty of players, wouldn't say majority tho, are certainly conditioned to expect always going higher stakes and more extreme emotions until it finally ends (like literally faster-higher-louder-more impactful/more shock-value). Act3 has some things that are unusual - Lots of exploration is in buildings, even in Rivington. This is where Larian's almost obsessive desire of creating maximum reward/content for the square space of gaming meets an almost immovable object of creating a city in the RPG. What I mean by this, if the building is in the game, it MUST have something, a chest, a note, a connection to something to an NPC, a hatch/basement/roof to explore, it can't be just inaccessible building if it is in the game. They literally almost (almost!) can't make the building that has a locked door, and it says "you can't access it", and the city has to have lots of buildings, even Rivington. I missed Swoard Coast Couriers, Toys quest, and plenty of other quests and buildings on my 1st run. - It has the most things to miss, because of the point above, but also because it is still a party-based RPG and FOMO hits hard for those who are prone to it, thus players feel the need to switch companions obsessively, which they shouldn't - Companions that added later, like Jaheira and [redacted], have objectively more content in the act, than some origins who are not from the city, and players should make a connection that Gale, or Halsin, or Lae'zel are not native to the city at all If you get past that ... well, maybe wrong wording, if you can wrap your head around it, act 3 is actually the best act in terms of conclusion of the stories, dungeon design (it is truly amazing, especially in DnD game), and just how many things to do is there, it is like 50% of the game is in act3.

That was a big mistake by Larian not making jaheira romanceable instead of Halsin! The actress for jaheira was lobbing for them to patch it in. Hopefully they can release it with a future patch!
While Tracy Wiles did it humorously, and you do it humorously, I certainly hope no patch will change that, or any other character. One thing is to make the line trigger properly, like with Lae'zel, line didn't trigger that accounted for high approval, so she always went "Speak!", and when they fixed that people lost their marbles that Larian softened the character beyond belief, and it is all ruined now or whatever (kind of tracks, hyperfixation of the community is a thing to behold, myself included, not going to be a hypocrite). Another thing is actually changing the character in the meaningful way, which they never did regardless of what some people in the community might say, except for caving in for Minthara legitimization of an exploit, which, if you look at the community now, is frowned upon as Larian backstracking on their creative choice in regard to Minthara and how few players who make specific choice (to leave the grove to her or raid with her) would be able to actually have her as unique party member. Same here, while I understand the emotion behind it, and I really think that hippie daddy Halsin is very polarizing (lots of people like him actually), I hope they don't change their initial creative decision and thus change her character (and no, adding some unvoiced cinematics to existing paths and branches is not changing the character, creating a new branch is)
I'm at a loss why he sided with squatters, but is playing a good sided character? Yeah the people are refugees, but that gave them no right to break into Arfurs home.
yeah it is pretty silly that essentialy everyone in world of bg3 is bi so your character also must be bi regardless of player helsin going so hard for that gay romance with your straight dwarf is comically hillarious xD
oh no, here we go....I expect discourse about this to reach unhealthy amounts when we are close xD the drama about decision each player takes in single-player game according to their roleplay is just so much fun

Same here, while I understand the emotion behind it, and I really think that hippie daddy Halsin is very polarizing (lots of people like him actually), I hope they don't change their initial creative decision and thus change her character (and no, adding some unvoiced cinematics to existing paths and branches is not changing the character, creating a new branch is)
Hello HR? I would like to file a compliant against Halsin.
BTW there's a mod that fixes your character's appearance when you go half-illith.
I'm at a loss why he sided with squatters, but is playing a good sided character? Yeah the people are refugees, but that gave them no right to break into Arfurs home.
when did I say my character was a "good" character?
yeah it is pretty silly that essentialy everyone in world of bg3 is bi so your character also must be bi regardless of player
helsin going so hard for that gay romance with your straight dwarf is comically hillarious xD
Biscotti looks like a girl. Why do they refer to it as a boy?
You better let Astarion Ascend... He deserves it!
Does he deserve to repeat this circle of violence and give up to his fears?
@siliqua4584 Good lord 🤣😂
oh no, here we go....I expect discourse about this to reach unhealthy amounts when we are close xD
the drama about decision each player takes in single-player game according to their roleplay is just so much fun
Ascendancy for vampires is so OP basically breaks the game and it aught too
@nickrubin7312 I'm not the one getting bent out of shape lol
spell icons are hideous and look convoluted ,even thou they re kinda organized the animation looks jerky too
