  • After losing his daughter Azaylia to cancer, Ashley Cain is on a powerful mission to cut straight to the core of grief, creating a safe space for conversations about death. In this episode, Kelsey Parker, who lost her husband, The Wanted’s Tom Parker, in March 2022 after a battle with brain cancer, discusses how she has dealt with grief and guilt. Kelsey also opens up on how her children, Aurelia 3, and Bodhi 2, are dealing with their dad's death in the year since he passed away.”

    I love Kelsey. I think she is absolutely amazing and an inspiration. Tom would be so so proud of her. She just seems so lovely and I can see why Tom loved her so much. And Ashley NOBODY should have to say goodbye to their child. You're an inspiration. Feel for you both

    What an inspiring yet emotional conversation. I suffer with anticipatory grief as my wife has a terminal illness, so thank you making this, love to you both. She was given 10 to 15 years to live and she is still with us fighting 29 years later. Listening to this reminded me of the saying that you can't help some one who is drowning unless you have swam in the waters they are drowning in. Grief is love looking for a home.

    I really resonate when you mentioned speaking about your loved ones that have passed. I feel like its all i want to do and I wish people would ask me about them so i have that chance to speak. Months after a bereavement everyone’s moved on and you still feel in this bubble that’s in a parallel universe. I feel every word said in this episode. It is so important to talk about grief

    Heartbreaking, brought memories of my loved ones. I part I see different to kelsey, but shows how different we all grieve, if I ask someone how they are, I truly mean how are you, an I'm hear to listen, I'm hear for you, heaven has the most beautiful angels up there x

      It’s so much harder for us every day people when it comes to losing someone. We are not able to have that time to fully grieve because we have to return to work, look after other children, pay bills and just get on with trying to survive on our own. There’s no on tap therapy due to waiting lists. Having me time is non existent and as you say, no one asks. I admire Kelsey because she is being real. She may come across as getting over her husbands death quickly but I feels she’s just being true to how she feels. I’m not saying famous people have it easy with death but it makes life more bearable when you don’t have financial matters to deal with and only yourself to worry about. I hope you find help and emotional support. Family and friends are a big support if you have them around ❤

      @@jantwine2453 in my experience people treat men a lot better when they lose their wives rather than the other way around. I think it’s because people seem to think women cope better.

    • @jantwine2453
      @jantwine2453 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@startracker5895 I think on the whole women probably do cope better because they’re more likely to talk to people about it and generally better at expressing emotions but I agree, there’s probably more sympathy directed towards men and often are more praised when they do find a way of dealing with it.
