WEAVERS OF VARANASI

AIACA initiated a project in Varanasi in 2015 with small and medium level handloom weavers with the objective of organizing them into a collective, strengthening their negotiation power and developing entrepreneurship among the wage earners through capacity building and access to information. Today there is a registered business hub owned by the weavers called the Varanasi Weavers and Artisans Society (aka Varanasi Weavers Hub). Now we are on a journey to make this Hub independent through market expansion, collaboration and partnerships.
This film has been done by a young professional film maker and his team.
