      Tsuyoshi Mochizuki hey bud... Sounds like you have an immobilizer chip in your key. This means you're going to need an immobilizer bypass module (check the description for the vehicle wiring diagram website to find out if your car needs a specific bypass module, or can use a universal one; which is also in the description). By the way, the instructions come with it once you buy it lol, but I'll still give a quick breakdown. Once done, the process is very simple; just get a spare key made for your car (just the metal portion, not the fob/clicker), put it in the ignition and turn to ON position (to disable steering lock) , then take your original key with fob/clicker (or original spare) with the chip in it, and place it in the immobilizer bypass module kit. That kit will also come with a coil wire which you will pass around the ignition lock cylinder. And that's pretty much it I believe (forgive me if I missed out anything, as I pulled this from my head lol). Basically your car is looking for that chip in the key (to verify ownership) which is only detected it is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder; once that is verified, then it will start the engine and keep it running like normal; so what the immobilizer bypass module does, is that it makes an "extension" of that signal if you will. Hopefully this helps! Let me know.

      @tsuyoshimochizuki2571 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      so this means i need to buy this immobilizer bypass module kit ? , am I right ?,
      and yeah for addition, i did the method 2 in EC002 that says that remove the immobilizer chip from the original key and stick it with the key ignition. I did that thing and it started but the problem it shut down immediately, but when i remove the immobilizer chip from the key ignition it doesn't start

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tsuyoshi Mochizuki yep you'll need the immobilizer bypass module. Sometimes the chip trick that you're talking about will work... But depends on the car.

      Hi, thanks for your video for the PKE install. It is very clear and easy to follow. I have a Toyota IQ3 with factory push button start and keyless entry. It is a manual transmission and I have to press the clutch to start it. I want to install a PKE system with remote start. Is this possible as I don't have a traditional ignition key system? How do I get round this?

  • @SteveBlues87

    Also I just want to say a massive thank you. I've installed an alarm system before but the manual was poorly translated and I couldn't make out what it was going on about half the time, especially the ON Wire 1 and ON Wire 2, so thanks. Subscribed.

  • @berryb745
    @berryb745 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    2 things I know you could do, 1: take out the key starter entirely. And just hook the wires up directly to the key starter wires. 2: take out the brake startup mode, either cut the brake wires startup or bypass the brakes all together. You can just push the button and it starts without needing to push the brakes.

    Awesome stuff mate!! 1. Is it possible to still have the original ignition in use with this setup? 2 how did you get around the steering lock? 3 is it possible to replace the keypad with an rfid reader? If you amazon link is an affiliate like I’ll make sure if I get it I’ll get it from there.

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Poynton hey bud... Thanks a lot! To answer your questions:
      1. No because this will cause your steering lock to still be engaged.
      2. If you check out my first start stop button install video, I show how to solve that problem, by removing the ignition lock cylinder, near the ending of the video.
      3. Possibly yes, but that might get a bit technical lol. I wouldn't try it.

    hello friend good night. I have a problem with a pke brand SPY I am installing it in a 2016 Renault Logan and the system turns on and after 10 seconds of starting the vehicle turns off again alone. disassemble the system and install it in my vehicle and it works perfect. could you give me some help what could it be ??? I installed 3 risers to each signal in general accessories, acc 1 and start but it has not worked for me. The transponder chip installs it in the antenna and the vehicle starts perfectly with the key and the hidden antenna. I would appreciate it if you could help me with this issue.

    Nice guide man! But it is possible to just splice the ignition wire harness and connect it to the pke module to make them both work? I'm planning to just relocate the push button and keep the key ignition so that I can still use steering wheel lock and still use the ignition key starting if possible

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it all depends on how your vehicle is configured; in my case, (if ignition lock cylinder is still installed), the steering lock will only disengage when the key is turned to ACC position. This is why I opted to just remove the ignition lock cylinder.

    • @brandonyu98
      @brandonyu98 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent video shows exactly what to expect when buying a cheaper pke system. Though I would have some security issues with a cheap pke. I'd be too worried it could be easily bypassed. Also what about vehicles with keychip immobilizer? How would we get passed that do you think? :)

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Cerda thank you! There's also a touch keypad which you can install on the inside of the glass (also included in the kit), which you can use to enter the pin (which you can set) in order to gain access to the car and start it, incase if an emergency. There may be another way, but I can't think of one at the moment 😅. Good luck, and be sure to let me know how the install goes!

    • @danielcerda5580
      @danielcerda5580 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Auto DIY Guy. thanks for the comment! so i took my installation kit to a professional installer and the guy said that its very dangerous to install because of the key being cut and having to leave it inside the key barrel. he also said that anyone can easily steal the car if the key is cut and left inside the barrel because someone can just unlatch a few wires and take off with the car. Is this true? do you think i should still have it installed? thanks again!

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol the same is true regardless of if you have a key cut or not...if a person can re-wire a car without setting off the alarm, then they must really want to steal your car lmao (and also must be a really professional thief). Anyways...basically...what I did was remove the key barrel, which is the more extreme version of just using a cut key in the key barrel. Remember that the wires he (your mechanic) is talking about, are re-routed into the PKE alarm system; so the thief will need to know which wires do what, and also would need to know enough about the PKE alarm system to disable it in a timely manner (without alerting nearby persons). Basically...it's very very difficult to do (as a thief) lol. Hope this helps! (P.S. sorry about the rambling 😅)

    2. Which wire do I use for the idle stop? Is there a wire on the brake that is available?
    3. How about the mirror wires?
    4. For the door lock/unlock, l located the wires for those function where the door wires connect to the car. I canx the orange wires according to your video, grounded the brown wire, and used the white wires for the lock/unlock.
    Should I use the white instead? When I press lock on the remote, the start/stop button light and courtesy light goes off, there is a clicking sound but the doors does not lock or unlocked.

      @TheAutoDIYGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey bro...that's hard to describe on youtube. The best way to find it, is to do it the way I did it...follow the colour of the wire from the headlight inside the engine bay, into the cabin of the car. If you see more than one wire of similar colour, then attach a wire from the headlight, and check for continuity between that and your suspected wire inside the cabin.

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to have that problem as well...but i believe it's linked to the door trigger switch. Double check to make sure that it is wired properly. A simple test would be to open any other door apart from the driver's door, and see if the indicator lights flash continuously. If it doesn't, then that means that the door trigger is wired incorrectly.

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hey thanks bud! The way how remote start works is when the handbrake is engaged, the engine will be allowed to remote start. This is done with the handbrake signal wire (you can either connect this to the actual handbrake signal wire, or if you don't care for the handbrake to always be engaged, just connect the handbrake signal wire to a ground connection). Hope this helps.

    Hello. I watched your previous install video for push start and it works great for a year now. But now I want to switch to this system. Would that be difficult? Can I keep some of the wiring? I would like your suggestion please. Thanks!

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey bud...this system is a complete alarm system, which means you'll need to tap into more wires. Also, you will need to replace the old start stop button with the new one in this kit; so the wires you used there would be the same wires you use with the start/stop button in this kit. All of the other wires in this kit would correspond to various other features of the kit. Let me know if you have any other questions ;) Also, if your vehicle has a chip in the key, then you would need to get an immobiliser bypass module as well (also in the description).

  • @galambosigabriel653
    @galambosigabriel653 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the central locking system, do I need to find the master switch of the doors? In my case, it is on the center console. And after finding it, just find out if it's positive or negative trigger and connect accordingly, right? Another thing worth mentioning is that on my key fob, I press unlock I get driver's door first unlocked and pressing a second time gets all of the door open, but I guess if the central locking wiring of the unit is connected to the master switch it would override this feature, am I right?

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a difficult one to answer. I would recommend that since you're replacing the existing alarm system of your vehicle, to check it out online and see how the installation guide describes that process. With regards to the opening of just the driver's door, and then the passenger's door, I would assume that would have been controlled by the factory alarm, and not a physical feature. Hope that helps! Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions :)

      The Auto DIY Guy - thanks, will do that. Now the other problems are, 1- the push button keeps flashing even when the ignition is on. 2- the car starts without the brakes and if I switch the car off while I have my foot on brakes it starts again.

    • @TheAutoDIYGuy
      @TheAutoDIYGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Letlhogonolo Thwane Ahhhh sounds like you didn't connect the correct brake wire. There are two brake wires... The correct one should only get a 12V reading when you press down the brake pedal. Try that first, and see if the other problem is resolved as well... Because it sounds like the brake signal is always getting 12V. Lemme know! 😄

      I got it right by correcting the two power ON wires, now my car won't start it the brakes are not engaged and vise versa. Now I'm left with the central locking.
