I would not have thought of THE RITZ CARLTON in such a place as this, because the simplicity of the organic Zen design is serene, beautiful and your senses are heightened with it's calming natural surroundings. Love this, I really appreciate the cultural background info. Thank you :-)

Bali is wonderful. unlike other tourist destination, you don’t have to spend so much because it really is affordable. The people are also hospitable and warm. Their culture is so rich and vibrant. Ive been there once, and i hope to come back soon.
I live in an apartment in the Bay Area. These videos take me somewhere serene and peaceful. One day I will visit a resort featured on this channel. Gotta have hope!
I don't really comment on videos on TH-cam, but I have to say something. The videos you make are just amazing, the camera work is excellent. The music you choose for your videos is very good too. It fits nicely and is a great background. I really enjoy watching your videos, they are the best content on TH-cam. Thank you for taking your time to show us all these amazing resorts and the trips you take to get there. Most of us unfortunately won't have a chance to stay in these resorts so at least we can see what they look like in detail. Keep up the good work! ;)

The videographer might be from Netherlands or Belgium because these two country people are very frugal all year long and then spurge on all their vacations Which other nationalities seldom do. I love his videos too, very elegant, soothing and he even goes into the pools to take videos for flowing movements. Thumbs up!

I have been to many resorts in Asia from 1985-2005, This place looks so peaceful and I love all the nature that surrounds. This is on my bucket list

Really appreciated how your effort to making the beautiful of Ritz Carlton Mandapa. Attention to details of each corners from the main entrance, lobby area (completes with the beautiful shrines & temples around), the villas and it’s all reflected to the Hindu Balinese philosophy. Plus with beautiful music in the background that you choose...it’s absolutely WOW❤️👍👍. I am Balinese and so proud with my culture...thanks for sharing this to the worlds🙏.

I feel the dramatic tension building as you film the Mandapa in all of it's splendid and sublime beauty....every scene carefully composed in your exquisite imagination! Stayed twice during summer 2017 and early 2018. Resort is really good, service is really nice, very private and secluded .
Did it bother you that this property doesn't participate in Marriott Bonvoy?
Amazing video and really does the resort justice. Stayed in October 16 and going back again next week as we loved it so much. Hell of a trek from Scotland but we love coming back to Bali. Definitely has the edge over the four seasons due the level of service which was out of this world.

Hi doc. I literally had tears rolling down my eyes at the end of the clip. It made me so very nostalgic . I was in Ubud Bali in the summer of 2017. But now I am cooped up in the house. Your videos take me on a virtual tour of the world. Had seen the Tagallalang rice fields, the Blanco museum, and the elephant safari park in Ubud. The rice fields were balm to the eyes.
Mandapa sits like a jewel in the emerald green surroundings. The resort has so many Hindu trappings. The suite you occupied was luxury redefined. The view of the rafters bumping along the Ayung river can be therapeutic. Greenery till the eyes take you is another striking feature of this property. Indeed a great substitute for your quintessential beaches. The 'ijuk' roofs look so glossy and rustic. Reminds me of traditional homes on the coastal belt of Karnataka. Thank you doc for posting this stupendous video.

You've knocked the ball out of the park with this video. Now I must visit the 4 seasons Bali hotel and now the Ritz Bali Hotel. I love the spiritual vibes and brilliant interiors and exteriors of the properties.
BRAVO!! BRAVO!! BRAVO!! To all those that participated in building this phenomenal luxury, over the top, WOW hotel congratulations your hotel is absolute perfection. The attention to detail in every aspect is absolute stunning. What I love about Balinese design most (and I love everything they do with design), is the fact they use the garden, as the main attraction (main room if you will) and incorporated into the interior design via windows & sliding doors. This is absolutely breathtaking. 🌴🌴🌴💙
As, for your filming...top notch!! I love your channel. I typically mute the music (no offense to the musicians) just to really be engulfed into your tour. Your camera techniques are perfection, with words spoken mainly thru your cliff notes which give you all the info you really need. Keep up the great work. You have the perfect job! Ritz Carlton and Bali are so good together. The one in Nusa Dua is also amazing. It has lots of daily activities for the guest.
So relaxing.... I will definitely take a day or two for enjoying myself.

Bali is heaven of the world
I went water rafting along Ayung River just earlier this year, I looked up at these grandiose hotels along the river and wondered how it was like inside. Mandapa being one of them. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to relieve memories from that day and allowing me the different view of this beautiful river.
One day, I'll stay at this gorgeous place but till then, it'll remain as a to-do list.
I love this hotel. One of my top 3 in the world. Its such an amazing place.
This video helped me a lot as an architecture student
I built my house in Bali 3 years ago. I had concieved it in Paris, influenced by artists' ateliers. When I started settling down in Bali, I it was then that I learnt the real Balinese architecture of houses. I had built the wrong house. I learnt thst you can NOT concieve a house in a place other than the place it will be built.
My Favorite food is Nasi goreng , And Nasi goreng best taste in The world only in Mandapa - Ubud , and the Menu serve at Sawah Restaurant on Lunch Time . I can't stay there because expensive , but lucky can enjoying the good food there ..
Oh wow really? I'll go try the nasi goreng there when this Covid is over. I live 30 minutes from Ubud, in a small village. Don't go out very often.
This is my second favorite so far, after Monastero Santa Rosa. Thank you for sharing your lovely experiences!

Just stumbled across this video. Unbelievably, we are staying right now in the featured villa ! If anyone is watching this and considering a visit, just do it! IMHO Mandapa is the finest hotel anywhere in the world. Beautiful and serene with unrivalled service. A life affirming privilege.

It seems that the video was taken at rainy season, when the skies were mostly grey and gloomy, no golden sunshine, so that the beauty of nature is less than perfect

@@luxurytravelexpert Wow seriously?? There must have been a climatic anomaly at that year then wkwkwk... Juli used to be the dry time of year in Bali/Indonesia, biasanya bulan juli itu pasti kering loh dan langit selalu cerah
we stayed at one of the pool villas here... if there is a place to relax in this world... this is it. It is really a top luxury destination... and also if you stay there, do NOT go on tours as why waste money just to sleep in this place? We went for dinner a couple of times outside but for the most part just stayed on the beautiful grounds and in our own pool. If you want to tour, sleep in a cheaper place.
I know I said that I felt claustrophobic in the Bali jungle last week, but Mandapa is simply stunning. It rises above the rain forest, ancient and modern at the same time. I love seeing the rain--no rain in SF Bay Area for about 7 months, although we had 1/8 inch last week. Wherever Dr LTE goes, eggs bennie will follow. I must investigate the meaning of the sacred black and white checkerboard cloth. Bali is an exotic and wonderful place. Your villa was one of the best I've seen in your videos.
Its about balancing life, black and white checkerboard meaning is how we balancing the good behave and bad behave become something nice and useful for us as a human because there is no 100% good and 100% bad in this world, we have to balance it for our life like how the earth balancing its rotation to the sun.

Gorgeous video! You really did the resort justice. I stayed here last October and was blown away by the villas, spa, restaurants and setting. I'm surprised you didn't rank the property higher than Amankila and Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay. I guess I'll have to return to Bali and check-out those resorts :)

Ohhh the rain part...what a paradise.
As I am watching this video I notice that some of what is said about Ubud is not particularly true. Going back 30 years or more, Ubud and the surrounding area was a quieter place to be and especially quieter than the Kuta Beach area. In the last 10 years or so, it is not true though. It is a busy place and though there still are some quiet spots (and we have stayed in some), the area itself is not quiet and the roads are busy. This past year is of course the exception.
