Even though I'm 18, Discovering the Waterfront got me through my entire senior year of high school. The album is just phenomenal. Silverstein will never know how much they mean to me.
Terrance Ford me too man. I am happy to hear they had the same influence on some else's life. I was 27 when I heard DWF and I literally was he rocker girl who hated screaming in music and dude, I fell in love with this lyrics. He was just coming out of a long term relationship that crushed him and so was I. So, I never made the mistake that I did with other fav bands like breaking benjamin and made a song 'our song' BS bc I never wanted Silverstein's music to remind me of anything besides strength and being strong enough to get out of my addiction to this man and the horrible shit he put me thru (I said goodbye to him finally several months after listening to Silverstein and they inspire me so much. I met the band a few times a Masquerade and it is the only time I have been nervous seeing someone famous. My friend had to basically talk for me and she does not even listen to them, but she promised me if she saw Shane, she would get him to take a picture with me and she did 2014 ( best moment). One of Silverstein's CDs has been in my car CD player since 2007. I steam other music, but listen to Silverstein literally everyday and my friends get so sick of it, but I never do and it's weird bc that has never happened. Like 2 years ago, I got he lyrics, 'So ironic that a heart made by man, when broken is easily fixed. But a human hurt can last for a lifetime'. I love it and sorry this reply was so long. I just love the band and they are super nice especially Billy. He is outgoing and made my awkwardness less noticeable ❣️
I want to thank Hawthorne Heights for introducing me to Silverstein when I bought their "If Only You Were Lonely" album, it came with a DVD showing many artists that introduced to a lot of bands that I still listen to today, Silverstein being one of them. I had to buy Discovering The Waterfront after discovering them and that record also changed my life. One of my favorites, I still listen to it a lot and the 13 year old emo in me cried my heart out when I saw them perform the 10 Year Anniversary tour
Yoooo fucking same I blame them for my knowing of Silverstein and Bayside oddly enough Hawthorne Heights is the only one of the three that doesn't really get played in my car anymore
I like how he's seemingly super honest about everything. "I'm usually kinda lazy when we record," "I try to write as few lyrics as possible..." "I didn't want Always and Never on the album..." I think it's funny how a lot of people are probably thinking "damn, this guy must work hard in a well-established band like this" and he's like: "Lol, not really"
Wow, this means that Silverstein has been a major part of my life for 10 years now... I can't even explain just how much this band has impacted my life or just how grateful I am that this band exists.
If My Heroine wasn't on the album I probably wouldn't be here. That song has changed me forever. I even have it tattooed on my thigh because every time I'm feeling shitty I look down and read the lyrics and I instantaneously feel better.
I think the same, probably the most important song of them from my personal point of view, I discovered them by it, and it's stuck in my since almost 13 years ago. Seen them in their tour for the first time 2 days aho and was amazing⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
My Heroine and Smile in Your Sleep are my favorites from the album. Especially My Heroine because the first time I saw them they dedicated the song to all the girls in the crowd and 5 years later it happened again. But the lyrics have always stood out to me
Call it Karma, specially acoustic, is a big influence of mine. Was literally the first song I played on Guitar. And I still jam that with much love. Plus, this band gave me the greatest friend of all time, (we have been best friends for almost 9 years). Fucking love Shane Told. FUCKIG LOVE SILVERSTEIN.
I got an early pressing of the singles off this album from Victory because I was a Street Team manager. I pre-ordered Discovering the Waterfront as soon as they allowed the preorders. I saw Silverstein several times in Atlanta and Portland and have never been disappointed! I also have several of the album posters and tour posters from the Victory street team days. We had to plaster the posters everywhere, I miss those days so much!!!!!
My name is alexandra silverstein. My friends in middle school introduced me to the band silverstein because of my last name. I loved the discovering the waterfront album, I would take it everywhere so I lost it 3 times but kept re-buying it lol. Went to a concert to see them when I was in high school. That album helped me get through a bad break up. Arrivals and departures is a good album too. P.s. I’m married now but keeping my last name.
I’ve actually heard a different mixing of smile in your sleep back when limewire was around and have never found it since. I didn’t like alternate mixing I heard as much though
I'd like to tell my 13 year emo-ish me that life might become a lot worse than whatever problems I was pondering about at that age. Still today after several years of knowing that always dead was about the lovely boned I will go to the library to borrow the book and read. (Sorry Shane I accidentally watched the movie. It was meh.)

I'm 35 and only discovered them a few years ago. My kids and I have now seen them live 16 times. They changed my life.
16 times how come?

Facts
I'm 18 now and I bumped this shit in freshman year
Shane Told is a fantastic singer, songwriter and screamer. Silverstein's a band that never disappoint.
I want to thank Hawthorne Heights for introducing me to Silverstein when I bought their "If Only You Were Lonely" album, it came with a DVD showing many artists that introduced to a lot of bands that I still listen to today, Silverstein being one of them. They were also on the reissue of silence in black and white, which is epic. Helped widen my song knowledge of them. Thank you Hawthorne heights
Yoooo fucking same I blame them for my knowing of Silverstein and Bayside oddly enough Hawthorne Heights is the only one of the three that doesn't really get played in my car anymore
Those victory records samplers were life
Thank the record label.

Still one of my most listened to albums even now in 2023
I like how he's seemingly super honest about everything.
"I'm usually kinda lazy when we record," "I try to write as few lyrics as possible..." "I didn't want Always and Never on the album..."
I think it's funny how a lot of people are probably thinking "damn, this guy must work hard in a well-established band like this" and he's like: "Lol, not really"
He busts his ass but he's super chill and just a normal guy.
Yeah he really is a super nice and chill guy.
Yes, I've met him in person and had the chance to shake both his hands, he is so humble and down-to-earth 💚
YOU ARE THE FIREEEE ON MY APARTMENT FLOOR
IT ISN’T FATE THAT TOOK US ALL BY STORM
Wow, this means that Silverstein has been a major part of my life for 10 years now... I can't even explain just how much this band has impacted my life or just how grateful I am that this band exists.
Erin Honor isn't it weird? It's been almost a decade since I graduated and that sophomore year was when I found this band.
One of the best albums of all time in my opinion to this day
Thanks the large spaghetti monster in the sky you didn't cut "Always and Never". That song is freaking amazing!
Personally, my favorite song by them out of all their songs. I wish they made another song like it- fast pace is perfect for that song.
If My Heroine wasn't on the album I probably wouldn't be here. That song has changed me forever. I even have it tattooed on my thigh because every time I'm feeling shitty I look down and read the lyrics and I instantaneously feel better.

I was 15 when this album released, and I could not stop listening to it.
"When Broken Is Easily Fixed" is my favorite album by Silverstein.
"Discovering the Waterfront" is my second favorite album by Silverstein.

Thanks shane for helping me with "My Heroine"

My heroine is such an amazing song! Thank you for being so persistent, it totally paid off.
Whaaat? Always and Never is probably my favourite song in the album!
One of my favorites is Always and Never... Thank god it wasn't ditched
Discovering The Waterfront up to now and always. Silverstein's always great.
greatest album ever...helped me get over the worst high school relationship ever
Been jamming you guys over a decade! Thank you so much for shaping me into who I am now!
its been 10 years since i heard your album!
Damn that’s awesome you got the guy from Yellowcard. Even from your first record I thought you sounded like you look hard but heavy
awe I've only known this band for 4 years wish I could of known them sooner but I found out about em on my own.
Definitely was one of my favorite albums in high school. I'm 32 now😆
I’m glad the last minute changes were made though, I can’t imagine them getting so big at the beginning of things sounded or were mixed differently
shane, you are such a huge inspiration to me and my vocal style!!
always and never is a top fave. glad you didnt cut it
I absolutely love already dead. Definitely hear the lovely Bones inspiration.
That’s awesome the album was produced by somebody who really really cared
Hearing that Shane raged when they were gonna not do my heroin was funny and beyond surprising too
Glad to be from their area!
My favorite silverstein albm!
silvertsein been with me since i was 7
Dude is so Canadian it's hilarious. Amazing band and album btw
Shane Told us everything we might not know , but we all know
I need this My Heroine demo
I saw them at the observatory in Santa Ana CA and he said they wrote the album in Costa Mesa CA. 🤘🏽👍🏽😂🍻🎸
Btw is track one titled "Your Sword Vs My Dagger" or "My Dagger Vs Your Sword" because Wikipedia and iTunes keep getting that shit confused
+Guy Dude Your Sword Verus My Dagger
It really did hold through the test of time
huwaaaaaatt??? sean mackin\yellowcard played that part in discovering the waterfront??!?!?!?! woww!
what is the back song?
what an awsome video
I really want a 10 things you didn't know about Hawthorne heights, from first to last and the used
Dead Artist Fanclub The Used is so underrated now, in favor of bands like Attila, Blood On the Dance Floor, and I See Stars. It bothers me.
Dying to see some From First to Last
I mean this started off strong, then you said Attilia and BotDF who are absolute hot garbage and the finished strongly again.
i miss silverstein
+gi gi hixenbaugh They're better than ever now and still touring so there's no reason to miss them..
Giruga x Hakusho no, i just havent listen to them in a while.
Him and Jared dines look alot alike... he could be his father...
We need another fest like Stay Warm Fest. Best fucking day ever!! I want to go back. One of my fav shows I've been too! ♥♥
Wow that Scream is so so quiet though and it’s just one time I think
Where is it in the song? I couldn’t hear it
@@Thatguy55595 at around 4:07 and he says "its not gonna chaaaange!" Its in the background
What a good video

Which song was about the lovely bones?
Hi 👋 shane my favorite song in silverstein is rodeo clown
11. Silverstein completed discovering the waterfront in 2 days...

Hi, do not say anything negative about this man. Thanks.
I hated my heroine
"my heroine" fucking sucks

"Always & Never" kicks the shit outta m.h. in every possible way
