Recently, when I bought this same watch for my son's 14th birthday instead of him reading the manual I see him watching this exact video to learn all the functions just like how I did. We both find this video a lot easier than reading the manual.
Being in the army especially the infantry I needed a watch that I could depend on that would withstand the punishment of combat arms. This watch has been perfect.

Just bought this watch. I work outside in Aviation and for the money this watch is better than many expensive ones. I love the things it does plus water proof. So rain isn’t a problem and at night I can press the button and it lights up. And it has an alarm if I ever need one. Great watch. As a kid I always wanted a G Shock.
Just got my DW-9005 G-Shock back to life with a new battery after it has been lying around for many years. Still works great but i had forgotten how to set some things, thanks for the great vid, helped a lot. Great watches all over !
Thank God for this video. I could not understand how to turn off the alarm reading the manual. Every night the thing would wake me up at 12am. You’re a Godsend!
Thanks for this. So helpful. Had my watch for years, it's been beat up and been through a lot. I call it my action watch. Most of the outer covering has now withered away so I was unable to reset some of the basic functions. I'm all good now.

I was gifted this around like... 2018 or something. I never knew its value until yesterday! 😮 Like if i hadn't found my watch, i'd never ever know how expensive this is (in my country) and how USEFUL it is!! I lost it during a huge storm back in 2021 and i was just, the other day, opening some of the forgotten bags and packages where i put many stuff in a hurry during the storm, and found this. Then yesterday i wore this at work and the guys were impressed (?) and asked many questions about me buying such a watch. (Im just a girl that draws and hides inside my house so like... Me having this was unlikely for them. And I guess watches like this are more preferred by people who are outdoorsy or are in military or something. And to be fair, yeah, i'd be the kind who'd pick a watch that either looks cute or is like a merch of my favorite game character.😅 I love the G-shock's design tho but yeah... I would most likely go with some thing that looks fancy shmancy or cute.) Anyways, i remember figuring out how to set the date and time but anything else i dont know. I just learned today the many uses this have. I watched a video talking about its "not commonly" known settings (it's the auto timer alarm, flash thingy and the lcd check) and i was impressed by the flash alarm thing. Which made me realize i could set an alarm. But thank God i found your video or else i would have convinced myself tomorrow that it cannot set an alarm. Because i had accidentally set my alarm for April 30, 9:15pm.😂 Also, because i turned on the flash alarm thing. I didn't think it would drain the battery fast, so thanks for that recommendation.
I never knew how to set these digital watches. Lol til now! Thanks just got the same watch but the logo is in khaki color. Real cool and durable..and def fashionable. Not too bulky like those fake watches at smoke shops
best review of this watch I've seen so far. it's probably even the only one that actually shows the functions. Great work. My blue DW9052 came in the mail today and I couldn't figure out if had multiple alarms like my GA100 series. Sadly it doesn't, but it's still a nice addition to my collection..
Thanks, much appreciated. The entire reason I put up the video is because absolutely nobody explained how the watch works and I'm glad you found it informative. If you want a G-SHOCK of a similar size to the DW-9052 but with more alarms, see the G9000 Mudman. That one has 4 alarms + 1 snooze alarm. It also has two 1,000-hour capable stopwatches, not that you'd ever need that, but it has them.
rmenga yeah I wanted the Mudman before I settled for the DW, but I'm waiting for a better price/colorway.. I found a Dark Green Mudman on eBay for $75, but I feel I can beat that..
Yes I believe you can beat $75. If you set up an eBay alert using eBay search, I'm sure that eventually one will come across for $60 or less shipped. Maybe even $50. I was able to get my DW-9052 used for just $29 shipped. Didn't come with box or papers but I didn't care because it was too good of a deal to pass up. I don't regret the buy at all.
rmenga I paid $45 for my DW brand new w/ tags.. A watch has to be pristine for me to buy it used. And I haven't seen anything close to that condition on eBay.. I'll try the Alerts link though. Thanks again.

I have one of these that I wear everyday to work. Out of all my G-Shocks this one in particular is great because of its huge buttons. All G-Shocks are great as an everyday watch, but this one is the best price vs Value wise.
