So now let's talk about changing the speed. So, let's talk about changing the rhythm, changing from slow to fast. So, lets start slow with basic footwork, basic Samba step. Let's start slow. The most important thing to remember the head of the phase is the one we want in the back. So, I'm going to step with the right foot back for me. Nice and slow. One, and one. Now, to double the time, you're going to have to move twice as fast. So, think of the right leg and the left leg needs to reach back in the air a little bit faster, so we have to move the feet a little bit faster as well. So, again, let's do the basic step again, slow. Right leg back. Left leg back. And let's double time. One, two, three. Let's do it slow. One, and two. And fast. One, two, three, four. And slow. One. So, basically, two slow steps for four fast Samba steps. Slow. One and two, one and two, and fast, fast. Again. One and two. Slow and fast. Double time. So, you're getting each one in the back a little bit faster. And slow. And slow. And then fast. And two, and three, and four. And that's how to change from slow to fast with the Samba step.

perfect! she taught it was easier than all the other woman I watched on here who tried to teach it. theres a slight difference in the movement when i compare hers to another womans but they all look great. I want the real samba. shes good. much more easier for me to grasp. thanks

Nice demo of the steps. However, most Latin rhythms are "tricky" in my opinion compared to other styles of music. Sooooo, putting those steps to a Samba rhythm would be nice. That is where the skill comes in. Sigh, I consider myself a decent dancer, but the hard part is steps+music and not end -up looking like a fool ;-)
I have a question, if anyone's out there... She does it fast in this video, but not as fast as some people. I have the basic step down, but when I go super fast, I can't do it the same way, "1, 2, slide together" - I have to cheat a little on 3, and just bounce the heel of my back foot, or give it a little twist to the side, rather than slide the foot forward. I've seen other videos where people go really fast, and it looks like they're doing something different, too, but I can't be sure because they're moving so fast. So I guess my question is: Those professional samba dancers, are they really going "1, 2, slide together" when dancing at top speed?
Hi ! did u find the asnwer? actually i have the same quedtion and i dont know how to move from slow to fast doig th eone two three step as i think dancers do just 1 and 2 when do it fast! help!!

You can't learn how to dance samba ...by..looking... I'm Brazilian..and..O.M.G ... I took so long for learn how to dance..and I think even now..I'm not that off a dancer
