These are mechanically simple parts which have a huge effect on downtime when they fail. If they had to be replaced after 5 years they wouldn't use them or lynch someone for engineering obsolescence.
I have designed and had built a very similar product. We used CNC winding to achieve a close packed optimal stacking, where every wire has a determined position as from the CAD model. I did not like the potting and vacuuming hassle. Currently I am back to working with metals exclusively.

It won't stick, it needs to depend on the type of glue, the perfusion glue can be low viscosity, usually won't stick to the mold.
