I have a 2007 EX-L 2.4 with 407k and some change. I daily drive it. I have a 60 mile commute one way to work pretty much all on the interstate. It still runs great. Just minor repairs on it.
My mom's 06 accord v6 threw a rod through the block at 275k. Oil changes done exactly according to the oil life monitor. Timing belts at 100 and 200k. Starting lightly knocking about 250 miles before the window was added to the block. The car is still beautiful inside and out. Transmission shifted perfectly. Thinking about doing an engine swap if we can find a decent j30.
While I know you are sort of belaboring the point by going through all the steps, it's such an important thing to teach: Don't assume anything. Yes, a guess on the wiper motor would have been the right guess on this one, but it still would have been a guess. Understanding how it works and ticking off various circuits as good and working assures you that you do the repair once, not twice or three times, and that you don't use parts that aren't needed. Great job!
I usually put a piece of masking tape where the wipers are on the glass before removing them so they go back in the same place. Some of the mini vans have wipers that will collide with each other if not in the right position.
