OH MAN!! To put up a video of this entire song AND a link to the sheet music --- you ROCK!! That is the coolest thing. THANKS from a fellow Sibelius user and Genesis fan!! :)
Awesome! I need to show this to my Mother who is a really good pianist with over 50 years experience. She always liked my classic Genesis albums because she understood the complexity and talent of Tony Banks. I believe that growing up hearing her play Classical pieces, and my Father listening to Jazz is the reason for being a Progressive Rock fanatic and not that stupid Rap music. I was actually born the same year A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering came out.
Beautiful as always. I can't help but hear Phil singing and the rest of the arrangement, since I must have heard the original a thousand times or more. Thanks for sharing your great work!
I've played this by ear for years and, unsatisfied, tried several sheet music arrangements with great disappointment. This arrangement is fantastic! Thank you very much for posting!!
Just found this today! You are a prince among men (or princess among women, or whatever -- this is 2019!) for sharing this! I feel sad for folks who don't realize why this music should be preserved a shared. Have you ever heard Mr. Banks speak about how he would formulate the sounds he used? Genesis sounds like no one else before or since and I would love to know if he ever shared the process he went through. Thank you for sharing and WELL DONE!!

Thank you so much for putting ups brilliant transcription have always wanted to learn this brilliant piano piece. I agree with the guy i would love also to play Ripples but there is no middle section any where so would love you to transcribe, you are a brilliant talent
These transcriptions are truly amazing & accurate! It would be interesting to see "Evidence Of Autumn" & "Robbery Assault & Battery" on manuscript paper. Especially the tricky solo In "Robbery......" Great job Electrik Hob!!!
Very cool!!!! Can't wait to see & hear them! The one section that bridges the instrumental break in RA&B has to be quite a challenge in itself!! Thanks for sharing such great music!!!
Do you mean the fast organ bit that builds up in layers just before the gorgeous Mellotron strings? That bit is surprisingly easy to work out once you realise it uses Tony's cross-hand technique - again! :) ... and to play if you do it as Tony does on Seconds Out (just one note at a time - no layers) with loads of delay. You can even play it as block chords like David Myers from the Musical Box shows in his YT vid: th-cam.com/video/0r_iET0X1DM/w-d-xo.htmlm57s Trust me, that is something to behold!! :)
Yes, that's the one! I admire & follow David Myers & wasn't aware he had a YT vid to show how it's done. Yeah, Tony's cross hand technique is amazing sometimes! Or maybe it's easier than I think, it just sounds hard sped up. Another example is "The Border" from Bankstatement. That has to be a real challenge!
That RA&B bit is actually not as hard as it seems if you play it as Tony did live on SO. On the other hand, the DM chordal method IS a little tricky…!! :) As my transcription may be a little while off yet, here's a 'how-to' on that particular bit… The left hand is positioned over the right (or on a seperate organ manual) and you play RLRLRL etc. The right hand plays a repeating sequence of 4 notes - B G# E B (fingers: 5 4 2 1) while the left hand repeats 3 notes in sequence - A F# C# (fingers: 2 3 5). The 4 vs 3 note interaction produces the seemingly almost random effect :) The second half uses the same technique but with different notes: RH = B G D B (5 4 2 1); LH = A E C# (2 4 5). You play the 4 RH notes three times with a final E (D for 2nd half); a total of 13 RH notes and the 3 LH notes four times with a final F# (E for 2nd half); again, a total of 13 LH notes. So you end up with a repeating 26 semiquaver (16th note) sequence - the whole solo is in 13/8. To play the other layers you just move the RH & LH arpeggios to different inversions :) When layered up like the studio version, you're basically getting alternate E & F#m chords for the first half and G & A chords for the second.
Hey, thanks much. This is the first transcription of "MMM" that is actually 100& accurate. Good hearing. In the PDF there is a repetition bar at 133 that goes nowhere. Just a little fix. Keep up the wonderful work!

Just check the David Myers video. It would be easy if you had a two manual organ. I'm going to go listen to the Seconds Out version later on. Do you think Tony would have played it in block chords like David? I think he added the other layers dubbed on top...just my guess. David is an extraordinary pianist in his own right!
