Mollie River Realignment | La déviation de la rivière Mollie

Mitigating the impact of a mining project on the local environment is a core part of our values. At IAMGOLD, we were able to re-route a portion of the Mollie River to achieve the construction of the Côté Gold mine through replacement and preservation of fish habitat.

The river realignment and the creation of the lake were crucial steps during the Côté Gold mine’s construction and demonstrate our firm commitment to managing our impacts on the environment in a responsible way. Regulators, contractors and our First Nations partners were also involved every step of the way.

Chez IAMGOLD, nous avons à cœur de réduire au minimum l’impact de nos projets miniers sur les environnements locaux. Afin de permettre la construction de la mine Côté Gold et pour remplacer et préserver l’habitat du poisson, nous avons dévié une partie de la rivière Mollie.

La déviation de la rivière et la création du lac ont été des étapes cruciales lors de la phase de construction de Côté Gold. Ces actions témoignent de notre engagement ferme en matière de responsabilité environnementale. Les organismes de réglementation, les entrepreneurs et nos partenaires des Premières Nations ont également participé à chacune de ces étapes.
