At least in my experience against the AI, defending with infantry + turrets is more cost-effective than just defending with turrets or units. Since the AI gets huge resources bonuses on Brutal difficulty, you gotta make your money count.
You can press T to show the units sidebar and Y to show the vehicles sidebar. If you have more than one barracks/war factories, you can press those keys repeteadly to cycle between your buildings, or you can just click on the building itself. Then you can press F1, F2, F3, etc, to create units quickly. Also, if you hold Shift and then click on the unit button on the sidebar, you add 5 items to the queue instead of just one.
If you hold Alt you can queue commands instead of executing them immediately, which is pretty handy. For instance, let's say you want to send a surveyor to a destination but it's too dangerous to go in a straight line, so you want to use a different route instead. You can hold Alt and right click on different locations and then release Alt, and the unit will go to those locations one after the other. It's also handy while attacking stuff in a specific order. You can right click on unit A, then hold Alt, then right click on B, then C, and so on, and then release Alt, and your units will attack A and only after killing it will continue to attack B, then C, etc, useful to take out the most dangerous units first. In the case of deploying surveyors, at 0:52 I right click on the destination as you normally would, then hold Alt, then press on the deploy button on the bottom right on the screen, and then release Alt. So the surveyor with go to the destination and then it will deploy. It doesn't work if you use the deploy shortcut (Ctrl+S) while holding Alt, because it will instantly deploy. You have to click on the button on screen for it to work. Also, if the surveyor finds an obstacle on the way to the destination, then it will stop and deploy on that location instead of the destination, so be careful!

I just won on this map a few days ago except I started from the South and played GDI v NOD enemy. Brutal is as it sounds!

Right click on destination first. Then hold Alt, click on the deploy button on screen, then release Alt.
Second thing is how do you do for the shortcut of upgrade power core from power plant?
The shortcut is Ctrl+A. So at 6:16 I click on a power plant, press Ctrl+A, then click on another power plant, press Ctrl+A, and so on.

Yeah, I believe they get twice as many resources per harvester drop compared to you, so you need to expand a lot just to keep up.

Yeah, I usually just get the laser upgrade for scorpions/venoms and forget everything else. Bad habit of mine.
