  • Last year I reviewed the Estwing Tomahawk and enjoyed it so much I wanted to test another product. This video is not sponsored, just an honest review of a product I was interested in, the Estwing Machete. Watch as I put this blade through some tests and see if it holds up to my expectations!

Finally, someone on TH-cam actually uses this machete rather than just unboxing it. Thanks for the video!!

I did framing for a few years and tried many different hammers, that estwing handle is the absolute best design for shock and all day comfort, I got the chance to try many different hammers and none of them beat the estwing, I bet it makes a great machete handle.

I’m debating getting the riggers hatchet or this machete I was leaning toward the hatchet but this thing looks like a beast

That is to funny, as long as everything was fine, otherwise it would be a super sad story!

I've seen a few videos on these machetes, and looked at the specifications. I found that there is only 1/2 inch longer blade than my Bowie knives I carry. The Estwing is Way lighter than the bowies as well. I also have found that the Bowie tends to stop arguments just by its very presence "especially when you carry Two of them 😊
One of the Biggest issues is that you can't baton the Estwing because of the saw back 😢
I decided that I would be better off with my folding Gerber and two Timber Rattler Outlaws.
    Thanks for the video!

You are absolutely right, plus the estwing wouldn't be a good carry because it is so noisy in its sheath, the fit is very loose!

I like it, although it would look better with a stacked Leather handle.

I absolutely agree, although I have grown to appreciate the grip that it came with.

Hey everyone, appreciate you all. There's a lot of comments asking about the saw, the very last clip shows the saw being used, but just to sum it up, yes, the saw does work, but no, it's not amazing. Hence the clip of sawing and finishing the cut with a chop. I definitely was getting bored just sawing through a small branch, so ... CHOP! Thanks for all the views, comments, and likes!

1055 carbon steel. It's really just a big tracker knife.

Yes I agree I really want to get it but I need a machete not a big knife,, Now if they would make it with a 18" blade ,,same style,, I would be all over it

I really like it but it is just too short I want an 18" blade

I have those gloves and both the tomahawk and the hatchet however my tomahawk has a rubber handle like their hammers or the handle of that machete and honestly it kinda sucks like to bounce when you throw it

    • @MaLeeProductions
      @MaLeeProductions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I purchased the leather handle pieces for several reasons, mainly that I thought they were cooler, but also for the bounce problem and the restoration side, I've watched videos of guys redoing the leather and it just looks awesome!

@@billybob-gb6ol as a kid I always used my dads leather handled hatchet, as an adult it just seemed like the obvious choice for me, something I was used to. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Thank you so much for your comments, btw.

@@billybob-gb6ol The only leather one I have besides the tomahawk and the hatchet is the rock hammer, it was gifted to me, so I don't know its history but it's quite old. I intend to collect more, hopefully in time.
And you are quite welcome, I am slow to reply I admit, but I do try. Strange as it sounds, as a social media presence I actually don't enjoy social medias, hence my No Smartphone Challenge Video.

6.25 minutes into a 9.5 minute video before we see it used, and that lasted 10 seconds before going to other tests.
Less facetime, more tool time please bro.
