Thanks so much for this lesson. Loved the tune you chose. Only thing I would have found really helpful would be for to remain silent after each new phrase to give time to absorb the phrase and play it on my own. Thanks again Love your playing.
Sure, check out Mirella's full course here - oaim.ie/irish-piano-accordion-technique There is discussion about cut's, triplet's and double stops as well as much more ..
What is the name of the giotár player of Cherrish The Ladies again? Probably the only ban giotáraí in Irish trad from Ireland? Why are they some few(almost ZERO) Irish girls on the giotár? Is there a taboo about that instrument?
Hi Pat, Glad you like the lesson! Mirella is playing a Saltarelle 'Clifden'. I know that Mirella only recommends Salterelle Accordions. Google 'which piano accordion for beginners' and you'll get some sound advice.
For anyone interested there is a new range of piano accordions about to hit the market....known as the Celt...they are being made in four choices of wood....Walnut, Mahogany, Cherry and Japanese maple.....32 key 84 bass 3 voice with bombata hand made reeds......straight, swing, Irish and Scottish tuning....acoustic panels and vents within the wood....don't think the present range of accordions available will come close
Hi JM.......They are being made on behalf of the Squeezeboxshop to our spec by Tonino Alessandrini in Castelfidardo Italy.....The website will be updated when we have the new boxes in stock...TomC
Hi there, I just wondered. If I subscribe to the course, may I have assistance from one one the teachers? I'm having a lot of troubles using both hands together.

Very good and helpful
Great lesson!!!
thank you!
What about the ornaments? How about explaining them too? To me they're the life and soul of the sound, and the hardest part to get right.

Hi Jamie, there is a student forum where OAIM tutors answer any questions. How long have you been playing?
@@onlineacademyofirishmusic Like 6 months now! I should have joined the academy back then. Now I'm making more progress.
Is there any where with the music sheet with the bass on your website or any where else ?
Hi Pierce, Yes you can find that on the www.oaim.ie website.
More explanation and showing the ORNAMENTS!
