      Do u think a 2017 4runner SR5 PREMIUM 4x4 can make it 10" ground clearance with Falken wildpeak At3w tires 32".... have A-TRAC no lockers but A-TRAC is better then just a rear locker only. I kept up with my 4runner group and they had rear E-lockers

    Great video. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant to do Miller Jeep but with a good spotter I was able to make it up both Lockwood and Miller Jeep Trail in my ‘96 XJ (SE) with 2” lift and 29” tires, no armor nor lockers. I sustained a small dent on my bottom quarter panel at 9:30 in the video but that’s my fault for not having rock sliders. Not a big deal; it’s a trail badge. Just take your time, trust your spotter and trust your 4x4. Btw, a Grand Cherokee that was ahead of us busted their axle but I think it was because they had too many passengers weighing the vehicle down. Thankfully, someone in a Bronco was able to pull them up while the WK drove in 2WD. Great trail and really great views up there.

    Awesome good video, Josh! Your camera catches the rubber-to-rocks action and you have a few aerial clips that really provide depth and perspective to the outing. That campsite looks phenomenal! And great advice regarding the propane campfire--I bought one early this season after seeing a friends' propane campfire in Ouray last Autumn. They perform extremely well, I've used mine a dozen times this year alone.

    Ran this in a 600$ 1993 Mitsubishi Montero on 31 inch tires. Apart from a one inch body lift, the truck was bone stock. Had the most fun from the entire group since it was a cheap truck to mess around with. We had a Jeep with 37 inch tires, and a 6 inch lift and the owner of that Jeep was super pissed his overbuilt money pit was getting its ass handed to it by a rusted Japanese tank.

    Stop telling people a stock 4x4 with ground clearance can make this trail, it gives the impression that its not that hard, for a seasoned off roader maybe you can get by with a few bumps, but stock wheelers are usually owned by people with little to no off road experience and they are going to get jammed up on that trail. Second Propane fires Still require a fire permit in that area and are NOT legal during EXTREME fire conditions. At least put a disclaimer not to attempt this with no experience and in a group with recovery gear.

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our goal is to provide 100% accuracy on the trails. With that said, we have taken everything from stock pickups, stock FJ Cruisers, and more up this trail without issues. Spotting might be required for the newer drivers but it is possible for them to do it as I have personally taken many new to offroading people up this trail. Now is this trail hard compared to 3N16, you bet it is. Miller is a solid intermediate trail. That is why we provide a lot more details on our website including what we are discussing. You can find the link to the trail page in the video description above if you want to take a look.
      And we agree, people should never wheel alone, period. We try to stress this a lot. Rule #1 is never wheel alone. #2 is always wear your seatbelt.
      And you are 100% correct that no fires are allowed during extreme fire conditions. On top of that, to have a propane fire including a camp stove in most places in CA, you have to have a fire permit (Including many of the deserts which many people are not aware of). We are looking at ways to auto populate state rules like this and many others since every state is different.
      Thank you for watching.

    Wonder if stock 2017 4runner can make it. Ground clearance is 9.6 stock but have 32" tires...so probably 10" clearance wonder if it can make this trail. And the 4runner's come with skid plates. So just need rock sliders .

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey David, you might be surprised on this trail. Rock sliders do make it safe but we have taken many stock vehicles through this trail. Now note: our crew is extremely experienced, and taking stock vehicles on trails way past their capability is normal for us. With that said, check out the site at the link below. If you have some really good spotters, you will likely be fine. If not, might want to wait to you get those sliders.

    A bit new to off roading but..... lol why would you disconnect the sway bar?

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A couple of reasons. It increases the ability of the front axle to travel further independent of the opposite tire increasing stability when articulated, and also helps increase the traction of the front axle.
