RESTORATION Ferrari F1 F93A

This video shows the full restoration process of a 1/43 scale Ferrari F93A F1 die-cast, from start to finish as driven by Jean Alesi.
This Ferrari was a commissioned build. It was purchased second hand by my friend in the condition as seen in the beginning. He then asked for the best way to make this F93A shine once again! I managed to find a set of replacement decals so the way forward was to make a complete restoration!

Liquid mask over the tape is a great idea!
Lovely work on this one. I assume you changed plans when you were making it as I'm sure you put Berger's name on the side but then it was Alesi's by the end!

Thank you for watching and leaving your feedback Thomas. That's very appreciated. Yes I always like to seal the tape edges with liquid mask to be sure that no paint leaks through. Well noted regarding the driver name. The owner first told me that he wanted the Berger decals. Then before heading for clear, he told me that the helmet and base have Alesi written, so it's best to keep it with Alesi decals! Slowly I managed to remove the necessary decals and turned it to back to Alesi, as it originally was. Thanks Thomas once again.

Niceeeeee 😊 well done Karl .....beautiful Karl although was one of the worst season for Ferrari, in fact that white stripe was labelled as a big bad luck so removed it immediately the year after. Have a few 1/18s which I would like to add tobacco decals in the future, but I,m in doubt if I should apply 2k clear after or leave as is.

Hello there Adrian, thank you very much for your feedback and history lesson. Didn't know that the F93A brought bad luck to Ferrari in 1993! The white stripe was a big headache to mask and airbrush, they should have never introduced it as it would have saved me a ton of work 😀 we can share some ideas about your 1/18s when we meet, maybe I can be helpful to the work that needs to be done. The initial plan of this restoration was to simply remove the 'barcode' like decals and install the Marlboro ones instead, but the paint was too faded so an overhaul was done ☺️ Thanks again my friend 👍🏼👍🏼
