Thanks for all you GREAT info on Plex. I had to create a Plex server last year when I put in a Stargate DVD and it was corrupt. Then I found out DVD’s only have a life of 10 years. ARRRRR are you kidding me 10 years, so I build a $500 awesome home computer / server / Plex storage and have been burning my DVD and music collection to my storage. I still have VHS (don’t fall down) and the tapes are still in great shape. Thanks for all your great work.

I've been using a 5960x in my primary unRAID server since 2017 and it's been running basically 24/7. Don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. it's still rock solid.

I actually have been building and upgrading my personal plex server fropm flipping pcs over the last year and its now housed in a corsair air 540(basically new for $50 locally) with a 5960x and rtx 2060, i love this thing. started with an x58 classified with a 980x. thank you for making these! I do use seagate, only because the 8tbs were $100

I have an 8-port unifi POE switch in the attic and the attic gets about 122 F in the attic in the summer. Has been ok for the past two or three years. Got a video on my messy and gross home network on my channel that shows the attic. Oh, have a PC and a raspberry pi up there too.
Any chance you will do a newer more current "How To" step by step setup of a Plex media server for 2020? To include how to (best method) of copying all of your media, using all SSD or HDD, or a combo of both.
With the new 'Live TV' provided by plex, it seems like the code infrastructure is there to maybe eventually have the psuedotv feature that xbmc had. It would be amazing to build 'Channels' out of the media on my server. It would be cool to make a SciFi channel with all the SciFi genre stuff I have.
Hi Jason, I had a question for you about setting up a plex docker in unraid. TLDR: I want to setup a plex docker so all the plex metadata is on an sdd for the better speed. But I don't have an extra m.2 or sata connector on my MB to plugin an extra ssd to use as an unassigned device. I have 2 1tb ssd's in the cache pool. For writing cache and vm vdisks. Is there a way to install a plex docker (or linux docker running plex) to just use part of my cache pool? So i don't need another ssd for an unassigned device? I'd also love if you could do an updated video on created a plex docker on unraid. I saw some forum threads that some of the steps to get hardware transcoding working properly aren't needed anymore but it's a little confusing. If you do that video, could you also include how to (if it's possible) implement the nvidia driver patch to allow unlimited transcodes with a gtx/rtx card? Much cheaper than a quadro. I love your channel and how easy you make plex and unraid to understand and use. Thanks in advance!

I would like to have two servers running so my viewers can have something to watch in case I need to take down and work on my first one. Please and thank you!
Funny you used Gigabyte in your "X sucks" brand-loyalty bit. I had a similar (but worse) experience to yours with a Gigabyte mobo RMA. It had a PCIe port go bad while under warranty. I keep all original boxes, including anti-static bags. I packed it up in the original box like it was new, put that box in a larger box that was completely packed in foam peanuts. I received an email from them with a picture of my board bare in the shipping box with about half as many peanuts as shipped, with one corner absolutely smashed, saying they couldn't service it. They sent it back to me that way. If they had done nothing, I could have still used it, but with just one working PCIe x16 slot. But they literally smashed my board and made it unusable, and refused to make any restitution for it. Not sure if it was intentional because they didn't want/know how to fix it, or if someone dropped it and was trying to cover their ass at my expense. But I'll never buy another Gigabyte product.
Christopher Hendrix yes! That’s why I want it. I make trailers of everything i add in my Plex . I put these 30 sec trailers in Plex to make everyone aware of what’s new in my Plex. I know where you were trying to go with your comment, but everyone has their reasoning even if you don’t agree with it.

Struggling to keep watching i'm sorry to say Jason. The Plex shilling is becoming too much. As a company they are absolutely dreadful, their "customer service" is atrocious. I've reported bugs in the program for months via the forum, providing logs, updates etc, and received little to no feedback on the forums (despite many others having reported the same bugs), do you know what their move was when i asked if this was even being looked at (as it had been months with no response)? They banned my account. All because i said that i had cancelled my Plex pass and switched over to Emby until this showstopper bug was fixed, which is working perfectly (and is free). They are adding new "features" like Tidal and free low quality movies very few people want, and are not using dev time to fix existing problems that have been going on for many months. I would never, ever recommend Plex to someone. Also, still supporting NordVPN...Integrity??
Didn't know you had a discord in also when you tweeted that out about MSI doing you dirty like I said in the Tweet MSI has good products but bad customer service. Years back I had a MSI computer the motherboard had messed up and I had insurance on it sent it in they sent it right back without repairing it even though I didn't have any physical damage they said it had to be something on my end and they didn't honor the insurance I'm still kind of salty about that all these years later smh lol

You can do whatever you want for your channel. Like you said, if you make content I don't want to watch, I don't need to.

17:10 Plex has since discontinued the Wndows App in favour of Plex Media Player.
It doesnt even show on the Windows Store anymore...
