Ooh the music is SO GOOD!! You should look up the stream, they showcased two full tracks and had others playing in the background. It's *really* beautiful and dark and unearthly. Love it.
The devs hinted at making this a series "throughout the ages," which could mean sequels progressing through time if Dawnwalker succeeds. Imagine a second game in the Victorian era, a third in the near-modern era, and a fourth in the future-an incredibly cool dynamic for such a setting. Here's hoping!
This has me VERY curious, and honestly takes some of the sting out of it being a relatively short game. As long as it's priced accordingly, I'll be really interested to play an ongoing game with chapter instalments throughout history!
im hyped too, but lets keep it together. We still barely know anything about the game. Let them release the game, and then we decide. If its good we buy, if its not... well, then we vote with our wallets :D Sounds reasonable?
@@mac19999x Absolutely. I'm incredibly hyped, but I'm also sick to death of being burned by games. I'm watching it like a hawk, but I'll be waiting to buy until I see a couple of full reviews by independent creators, from post-release gameplay. It served me well with Veilguard and a few other games, I won't be changing that habit now. I'm hyped, but I'm also not giving any free passes. Studios have to EARN my money these days.
@@mac19999x You can safely expect The Blood of Dawnwalker to be better than the coming Witcher 4 Game 😅 because the competent, capable Witcher III Dev's make *"The Blood of Dawnwalker"* - while Witcher 4 has Sweet Baby Inc~ish Activist Developers working on it ... ... 😅
I love the atmosphere, the character and creature designs, and the music. For all intents and purposes, it looks like Rebel Wolves is cooking up something good. I pray they succeed.
Well, some of thet best games I've played in recent memory came from developers who were confident in letting the players reach the end of their games without seeing even half of its content. If that's the philosophy at Dawnwalker, then I am looking forward to it.
THANK YOU for not scaremongering about the "time limit". They were pretty clear in the stream that it would be progressed by hurdle/main story progression quests, so I have no idea why everyone is getting so freaked out by it! It sounded to me more along the lines of BG3's acts, where you have certain quests that make a "point of no return". I LOVE this idea, and can't wait to see more of the game! I get the feeling that even if the "main quest chain" is fairly short, the game itself will be as long or short as we make it, and will have plenty of replayability. This game and Exodus are definitely on my 'watch like a hawk for more info" list 😀
calling it now: the intro cinematic shows all of our potential sires. the moment gameplay kicks in we will get to choose the vampire who sires us, definig skill tree potential, build variety and general playstyle going forward.
Oh I'm so happy I'm not the only one who thought of this! You don't see much of the other three, but the lady (I think? it's hard to tell with the teeth and the short flashes we saw, but I think it was a female vamp) with the bandages/veils looks really interesting, and so does the guy in the Mongol style hat!
I am a bit worried about the time limit. If time only passes between quests, it means you won't be able to do all the side quests because you'll run out of time in the main quest. Rebel Wolves might be doing this to limit how powerful you can be in the final act of the story.
That is their point! No "Skyrim" like "be head of EVERY faction in one game". One game - one set of quests. Next game - new quests, new paths. New choices. There are consequences. You cannot side with vampires and save humans simultaneously-or vice versa. That would be stupid.
this 30 days concept and intended "sense of urgency" the director proudly talked about is giving me more concerns than excitement, last thing I want in an open world RPG is having them rush me. Other than that everything has me extremely interested
I was worried about being timed, but then I remember that Majora's Mask is my favorite game of all time. It depends now on how they handle the time mechanics. I trust them.
Looks like it has potential. Hadn't heard of it so thanks for highlighting it. Interesting all the European developers that seem to be springing up to fill the RPG genre.
So if time is not moving in real time does that mean that there won't be a regular day/night cycle and it will only move in between certain quests like the Spiderman games?!
If the game isn’t too long and bloated the ”30-day time limit” could work. It would offer replay-value to the game. Look at Pentiment from Obsidian. That was a game that did time limit right. It was impossible to see and do everything in one playthrough and the game forced you to make hard decisions, the outcome of which wasn’t immediately obvious. You only realized 1-2 hrs later what effects your choice had caused.
@Sousaice umm she is a female Witcher not a female Geralt. Geralt is every bit himself a male and will also be in the game... are you against Lara croft because she is basically a female Indiana jones...
Something that's annoying me, is the mc could have just given his sister his blood right? Than having the antagonist do it. Like how blade can still turn people into vampires. Plus the time passage thing seems like something to make you play many times which depending on the game could either be great or this dies with this game.
1st of i love these kinds of games w vampires n midevieal settings(or how its spelled now again?) this looks amazing and i just hope it will turn out (lets say if its as good as the witcher 3 was n still is this game will rule)
The 30 days/nights thing worries me. I HATE those time mechanics. They are annoying no matter how you paint them. I hope they get rid of them or they make them optional at the very least.
I honestly think your fear is somewhat unwarranted. I'm almost convinced this cycle will be interlocked with main quest progression. Take CP2077 for example where V's life is also on a timer, and yet nothing happens if you don't progress the main story/quests far enough.
Interesting for a brand new IP and studio to not only announce a new game but a saga. Yeah my only worry about the time limit, I shouldn't feel like I need to replay a game multiple times to experience everything. That should be up to me that player
Sounds restrictive as hell. All the cool gameplay will be during the night so say goodbye to cool daytime scenery. And the time restraints sound awful. Size of Blood and Wine? Sounds like a pretty tiny game.
Well, they are a new and probably pretty small studio so I think it’s smarter if they do a smaller but well made game rather than a bloated, massive game full of bugs and broken mechanics that they don’t have enough staff to fix.
@@heimdal8 I think that's just excuses. They are a team of 120 people, many of them vets in the business. I'm just skeptical is all. On the one hand, I like a lot of what I'm seeing.
