Christopher Sabat just has such an epic fucking voice. Geekdom you really outdid yourself with this episode in the series but you already know that. KEEP. FUCKING. KILLING IT!! This has to be my favorite one and that was expected. This was just so awesome.
When Chris was talking about how he liked talking to Danny because he's interesting and knowledgeable, MY face lit up and I started smiling and kind of chuckling. I can only imagine how it felt to have Chris say that TO HIM. Props, Danny. Nothing but pure respect. This was a great fucking video man. Looking forward to that potential Part 2.

Well after this, we can blame Toei for sending bad translations which resulted into the dub changes. The Falcouner score happened because they got horrible audio from Toei. Whoa. Learned so much from this. I really hope you and Chris do a Part 2 to this. Great job, Danny! We will be waiting patiently for Phase 3 of the Icons.

Exactly, Toei has never helped matters, and they have a _long_ line of IP’s that they’ve allowed to get hack job adapted _before_ DB.
Famcouner music was amazing, English dub with his score is the best version of dragon ball z.
Amazing interview! You guys covered so many bases and the history of Funimation and the decisions that were made regarding the dub and how the process was done were so fascinating. This has to be easily one of the best interviews ever done in not only the history of the Dragon Ball community but on TH-cam in general, period!
Chris is a really cool guy and I love his openness and frankness talking about his career and behind the scenes of how it all works out. He's one of the best and most dynamic voice actors in the history of the profession by far.
I have to say Geekdom, you hit this out of the park as I expected you would. Can't wait for part 2!
Damn Sabat has a voice u could easily fall asleep to peacefully
I think the reason DB has stuck with so many people is because it's a long serialized series and we got to spend alot of time with these characters and in a way grew up with them. Like those who for years grew up watching Dragonball and seeing Goku become an adult while ourselves were growing up and it feels alot like we grew up with these characters beside us and forged personal connections.
Does that make any sense?
Regarding the line about Freeza telling Beerus to destroy Planet Vegeta. It's not that it _wasn't_ in the Japanese, it's just that the line was quite ambiguous due to the way the Japanese language works. Simmons' subtitles weren't quite so overt (possibly not wanting to cause issues if he were wrong), but a few high quality fansubs of the film had the same translation as the dub line. Not sure what happened there, but I guess they were right doing what they did!

Is their any chance that you can ask him if the rumors are true about the DB Kai Buu saga are true? Like is TOEI really forcing FUNimation to finish airing the 1st Kai series on Toonami before they can give us the Kai dub of the Buu saga? I heard their was a contractual agreement where this would apply to DB Super as well.

I've actually never watched Kai but after this I think I'll go back and watch it. Any time I've wanted to watch Kai in the past I just ended up going back to the original due to nostalgic purposes but I'm really enjoying how original they're staying with super and it's working well, and I want to hear Kai's frieza.

Christopher Sabat (amongst many other VO actors & producers from Dragon Ball media) has numerous interviews spread throughout TH-cam & the Internet in general. It was in the original Japanese too it's just a gaping plot hole thank you Toriyama. Personally I would've preferred an alteration to the original script and instead have Chris Ayres say "If I train in earnest for four months...I could push my first form to a power level of 1.3 trillion!"
