For the tech tree, the default layout is compressed. If you want the tech directional arrows, click on the tree diagram icon below civilian research to get the 'expanded' layout, that is more easy to read.
Do not start with the colony capital ship, they are not worth it. Their colonize ability can save you a bit of money but a combat capital ship can clear neutral planets much faster. And being able to get planets faster will boost your economy more than what you save from the colonize capital shops. Plus some maps have a neutral faction that sells a capital ship item that lets them colonize planets with a free logistics and free mining upgrade. Also, on smaller maps, you need the extra firepower if you meet an enemy player early.
@@Ruzaraneh But the Vasari do start with enough exotic resources to build a second capital ship. This is another reason why TEC and Advent shouldn't start with a colony capital ship. If you're TEC/Advent playing against a Vasari, they're pretty much guaranteed to get a second capital ship before you, and you need the extra firepower if you meet early in the game. Early game ships have very low weapon pierce so they do very little damage against heavier ships like capital ships. Colony capital ships also have weapons with low pierce. You need a combat capital ship or carrier with bombers to deal with heavier neutral ships and enemy capital ships.
This game's absolutely phenomenal. One of the best forex games of its time. I loved sins rebellion and this is just a step up for it. Not a lot has changed but the foundation for the future is absolutely amazing. And what has changed is definitely worth the money. That said, I don't plan on buying the collector's edition because of all the pre-purchasing fiascos I've had recently. But I did buy this right away on epic. It's definitely getting better with time. Loving the changes to the game
I was just about to ask if you had plans to do a video like this and was very pleasantly surprised to find it waiting for me just now. Cheers and keep up the good work/clairvoyance!
This channel is in fact a figment of your own imagination, so it was only a matter of time until it started doing what you consciously intend after tidying up some subconscious issues or whatever.
For those opinons that refuse to explain and just claim colony capital ships are not recommended to be built first, here's my reason why I build it 2nd rarely the 1st Is simply for the colonize AND trade. But I make due with killing siege frigates first then let my frigates clear the rest lagging behind my Akkan colony ship. Since most of the planet upgrades will be on the surface, and in time TEC has trade escort ships (once teched) and they funnily enough will engage hostile ships soon as they see one. As for the cons you'll be slower clearing larger neutral fleets compared to if you made Kol or the Marza capital ships 1st but by then already have a combat capital ship
Akkans in beta used to be a sound choice as first capital ship as their free commerce upgrades to planets they colonized can help cut down on how much you spent to get a planets eco going as well as jolt your commerce eco up. The free logistics they give now is actually a considerable nerf to them in the early game as not only will you not have the logistics structures to take advantage of it besides spamming labs, but it actually made getting their eco up and running more expensive without any actual gains from the free logistics. It is better to use the protev colony frigate while picking on a heavier combat ship like a sova carrier in the early game expansion while you can purchase the eco boosts at their cheapest than forced to pay more to get it running with an akkan that will take the longest out of the tec capital ships to expand
Truth be told this game is a wish come true! Loved the base game of rebellion and all its beautiful mods Really digging this one and i am honestly looking forward to the forth race!! (And all the mods that will come out for soase 2 ❤ )
Wish they gave ‘Diplomacy’ more depth like in Sins 1. Now there is no more ‘envoy’, consequences to donations or strategy to other players. Hope they add more to it
Great video 👍 Any way to stop Pirates from attacking worlds that are not connected to any hostile phase lanes? What I mean is.. lets say I have 10 worlds and my home world is all the way in the back surrounded by other planets Ive already colonized, but some how the Pirates jump directly into my home world, bypassing all phase lanes in order to get to my home world.
My first game I was up against a single normal computer, rushed the shit out of the Novalith and blasted their capital. Won on the spot xD It was hilarious. I recall from the first game the Novalith not being quite that strong, but I'll take it xD I have since learned there are ways of defending against that sort of thing. I'd just gone so hard on that rush it was literally like 45 minutes or less from hoping in knowing next to nothing to victory with muh super weapon xD 10/10 would Novalith again. I just hope to enjoy the other factions half as much.
Hey Montu, I came across and interesting bug and also a very interesting way to break the game using Gigastructures. All I’m gonna say is play Decaying Birch World with a Virtual Pop Empire. I’d love to see your reaction to it.
Probably all you'll get out of it. I usually skip these "opinion" single sentence comments as they mean nothing or just don't work for a person's playstyle. Without any explanation it is just very unhelpful.
@@commandershepard4235The Colony Capital gives you free orbital logistic upgrades, but early on you can't use them to economy boost. The ship itself is good support but takes neutrals slower due to reduced dps when compared to other ships. It's better to grab a colony frigate and a carrier or battleship Capital to take neutrals faster. An argument could be made that you can civilian tech rush up to orbital commerce to take full advantage of those free slots, but then you're still losing out on firepower and risk getting rushed down.
@@commandershepard4235 They're not worth spending your first free Capital Ship slot on, nor the 50 supply. Their colonize ability isn't as good as it was in the first game, and their firepower is weak. Get a combat-focused capital ship first, then spend 5 Supply on a colony ship. You'll expand faster because you'll clear neutral gravity wells more quickly.
My main suggestion is to pause the game, read up on the tech tree and try to draw a plan on what you want to get, based on the map you're in. Some things are more obvious, such as fleet supply, improving commerce and/or metal/crystal extraction and unlocking colonization of specific planet types, but other things are more nuanced and situational. While it's good to think on the long term, you should always pay more attention to things that will benefit you immediately. If you can marry both of these ideas (getting techs that benefit you now that will also link to techs that benefit you later), even better.
this game looks cool, but i think i'd rather just get back into stellaris. this seems like a very dumbed down and simplified version of that. and especially with a price tag around $40 - $50, i dont think it's worth it right now

Seeing the Kol going in guns blazing in the intro convinced me to stay TEC only. I'm really that simple.
Times of war are upon us.

I'm a new player to the series and I have to say this video is S tier. Very good quality and easy to understand. Thanks for the tips.

I usually don't pre order a game but I played SINS 1 so much that even if the dlc sucks, I'll have my moneys worth :P
idk im more of a stellaris junkie, this seems a little two dimensional by comparison

Finally I been waiting for this since launch.
i was here before this video blew up.
I second this
I am here with you as well
i was sinning too much last week
I have been playing this game way too much
This is a really awesome game. Just got it last night, damn shame only had a few hours to enjoy. Can't wait till I get home from work tonight
if you enjoy this you should play stellaris, it's this but....more.

is this closer to something like warhammer gladius, where combat is the only way to achieve victory?

Does anyone know how to ping on the map, I have no idea how to do that in multiplayer
Does this game have a single player campaign or story like C&C or not?
Cz if not, wish there is, it would be nice.
thank a lot bro
Could you please tell me how to upgrade the capacity of my fleet?
It's a series of techs in the military research section.

it's simpler, and 99% about fleet composition. i highly recommend stellaris if you're looking for something with more depth of economy/diplomacy
